Gem
Who is your favourite, and least favourite (i.e. hate, think is a right twat) pundit/host/expert/commentator/writer in the media at the moment? They can be sharing their views on television, radio, newspapers - doesn't matter. I have a couple I enjoy watching, Paul Merson on Soccer Saturday is brilliant, always makes me laugh and never really shows any bias but does it without being bland and boring (coughJAMIEcough), Alan Hanson on MOTD is a long standing favourite, mainly because he never bashes us. My favourite is Jeff Stelling, hope Sky have him in a golden handcuffs deal because he is priceless. Got to mention Ray Wilkins too, when he makes the odd CL appearence he always shows his loyalty and last but not least, the unbelieeeeeeeeevable Jeff, Chris Kamara. I know they're all television, but I do have one other sports pundit I enjoy listening to - Oliver Holt from The Mirror. Hate? Phil Thompson, Andy Gray, Jamie 'wheres my personality' Redknapp, that gimp who sometimes appears of Soccer Saturday/Football Special... whats his name? Floppy hair. Eugh. Oh, and all the Setanta Sports pundits, awful awful awful. No one else is jumping out right now. I don't listen to the radio, but I'm sure if I did they'd all go in my 'hate' pile. geezer
Present day I enjoy watching Jeff Stelling who is always good for a laugh plus he loves taking the piss out of Phil Thompson which makes him a legend in my eyes. Hate Garth Crooks. How the f**k did he ever get a job on telly at all? Going back in time I would go with Brian Moore and David Coleman as my favourite TV commentators. Neither of them would offer too much opinion and would let the game speak for itself. On the radio it would be a guy whose name I believe was Peter Jones who sadly died far too young. He was great at painting a picture in your mind of exactly what was going on at any time during the game, a great talent.
Maksimov
I don't obviously see the English footy pundits/commentators very often, but my favourite has to be Phil Thompson. Everytime I see him in the studio, he makes an ass of himself.
Gem
Garth Crooks geezer, how the hell did I forget? Probably because I turn over when he's on, but yes, he is a grade A see you next f**king tuesday you c**t! EDIT: Hanson has just said our was stone wall penalty, the Carrick dive for one at the other end had no contact and the Ronaldo/Ballack pushing and shoving wasn't one. See, he knows what he's talking about.
Alan
Sports Writers: Kevin Mcarra (The Guardian), Martin Samuel (The Times). Their columns and opinions are pretty much always a good read and well written. TV: Ray Wilkinks, Jeff Stelling, Chris Kamara, Alan Hansen (Scouser, but fair and intelligent in his analysis). geezer
Newspaper writer I would opt for Oliver Holt who always gives a very balanced opinion and has the great knack of hitting the nail on the head. It may not always be to our liking but I can never dispute the point he makes.
lauren
we have complete unknown dipsticks in America who haven't got a clue, pronounce the team names all wrong (eg Middlesboro instead of Middlesbrugh and Tottenham instead of Tottnum), don't really understand the game and say annoying things like extra time instead of injury time, and bring American football terms into the game like offence. Then there is that prat Tommy Smith who I would like to personally put into a mangle. Can't stand his style and his clueless commentary.

Englishman
Gab Marcotti - One of the few decent pundits on TalkSh*te, before he had the sense to leave. His views are usually intelligent, fair minded, and worth listening to. The worst is Clive Tyldesley. Desperate for his "They think it's all over" moment, and a sickening Manc/Scouse lover. dkw
the worst by far is andy gray. and he showed how sh*te he is and how biased he is in tonights "the last word". asked about the game on wenesday all he did was talk about liverpool and how they would play. even when talking about chelsea he based it on how liverpool would handle us. the mans a joke and an arse.
