Posted June 3, 200816 yr Contrary to reports Chelsea Football Club has not reached agreement with any individual to become manager, nor have we sought permission from any organisation to talk to their manager. We are extremely happy how our search is progressing. http://www.chelseafc.com/page/NewsHomePage...1323146,00.html
June 3, 200816 yr If the club means what it says about 'not approaching' an organisation for permission to talk to anyone, then we're talking about someone who no longer has a job. Back to Mancini and Rijkaard, guys and gals. Will this crazy roundabout never stop - I want to get off!!!!!!
June 3, 200816 yr If the club means what it says about 'not approaching' an organisation for permission to talk to anyone, then we're talking about someone who no longer has a job. Back to Mancini and Rijkaard, guys and gals. or maybe waiting until after the euros when a coach becomes available. id rather they took time and got the right man than jump in and sign anyone.
June 3, 200816 yr The problem with waiting is we may miss the boat on key signings plus current key players who would prefer to stay may become restless and end up leaving especially with Jose hovering above us like a vulture waiting for easy pickings.
June 3, 200816 yr but how do we know that the club havent got a manager lined up and are chasing his transfer targets? the clubhave done pretty well over the last few years in keeping the media guessing over what their doing, and im happy with that. as far as we know, they may know who the next manager is and are currently sorting the squad out for him.

You may have a point there. Who idea was it to sign Bosingwa?

June 3, 200816 yr So the club come out and say the search for our new manager is going well and no contact has been made to any club requesting permission to speak to their manager ! What complete bollox !! The Chelsea board met last night and were split but the majority wanted Hughsie as boss - meanwhile Roman has sweetened up Ancellotti's advisors after the club were refused point blank to speak to him hours after Grant was axed. Ancellotti comes tumbling down on betfair to 1.68 the board unaware that Roman has been dabbling behind their back ( even though as the man he is he is entitled to )start laying him for their life and out he goes to 3.15 ! Sky get on the bandwagon and get a statement from Milan and Ancellotti ! What a shambles !! The board wanted Hughes (now man city bound) and Roman wants Milan's coach when he should be giving them 100 million for Kaka and giving them Sheva in exchange ! And the search of our new coach is goin well !
June 3, 200816 yr Thanks again Star. First thing on this board I look for is one of your posts. I am a stock broking analyst and recognise good info when I hear it. What it boils down to is there don't seem to be too many managers that can keep the fans, the owner and the players onside at Chelsea. I had to laugh at Mourinho's press conference. "Of course everyone wants to work with me". Who else can or would say that. Personally I think Moyes is about the best performing english manager outside the top 4 in recent years.
June 3, 200816 yr moyes, being scottish, won't like that. gotta say- we've had milan and chelsea make official statements now, milan saying they've turned down an approach from us, and us saying we've not made any approach yet. obviously there is something untrue there.
June 4, 200816 yr Well I am sad to say that the media and public really have done their dirty work on CFC rather well. They have dragged the clubs name through the mud for the past 4 seasons. I think a lot of managers do not look forward to being compared to Jose at every turn and therefore are maybe being scared a way from the job. The media and jealous gooner fans do not make it any easier. I just really hope we get someone we actually want and need otherwise it will just be another wasted season no matter how far we get, We need Hiddink or Sparky and thats it ! either of those two will do and only will do...NO ONE ELSE !
June 4, 200816 yr ROLL UP ROLL UP - FOR THE CHELSEA CIRCUS!!! (I liked it when we were a football club!)
June 4, 200816 yr Didn't Bates want to build an electric fence around the ground, overspent the club into near bankruptcy and nicked off with that Millwall badge? If anything, we are managed far better now than we were back then.
June 4, 200816 yr Thanks Star, I take it as you stated the board wanted Hughes, that he's pretty much off the table now?
June 4, 200816 yr ROLL UP ROLL UP - FOR THE CHELSEA CIRCUS!!! jesus mate, give it up. id rather they took there time and made the right decision. the media are trying to mae us look ridiculous by throwing any old name about (benitez? really?) and trying to make it look a farce. when in reality the club are making sure they get the right man, hopefully the one to take charge of the club for a long time. if you want to read the media and believe all they say then fine, have fun. but i wish people would stop coming on here and hammering the club for things they arent even f**king doing....

June 4, 200816 yr "Extremely happy" huh? Yes, I was "extremely happy" the other day to go to a funeral, come back and find a parking ticket for thirty quid on my windscreen to make my day even more joyous than it had been. It's that kind of "happy" where the club keep hitting on suitors like a stripper at a lap dancing club and unlike a stripper they are getting no joy. Who next is on the betting slip? All we need is Big Sam and Gary Megson and we will be well away. And Chelsea will be even "happier" than they are now.
June 4, 200816 yr All we need is Big Sam and Gary Megson and we will be well away. And Chelsea will be even "happier" than they are now. Bryan Robson, Lennie Lawrence and Ian Holloway are available.
