Valerie
The bloke who waters our office plants (a Liverplod fan; one with a job!) just congratulated me with our new manager Guus Hiddink! WTF?? He heard it on the news very early this morning. I can't find anything about it anywhere. Is it a vicious rumour, or is there truth in it?
Mr Chelsea
until something is official they're all vicious rumours a scouser with a job, that wont last long
Maksimov
I think the cheeky lad's messing with you. I haven't heard anything and even if it was true I doubt it would be made public before Russia is knocked out of the Euros.
evissy
Can't find anything on it..that guy is probably just messing with you... Somehow it is revealing to hear there is some intelligent life in Scouse-planet. Humor is the first sign of intelligence they say.
Valerie
Perhaps I should add that the kind of tasks like watering plants are outsourced to an agency set up to provide work for the errrrrrr.... intellectually challenged. This chap wouldn't know "messing with you" anymore than he would know how to perform open heart surgery. It explains the Liverplod interest though. Barn
I was talking to my dad about Hiidink at the weekend and his feelings are that we've got him and have had him sorted all along, but that we can't announce anything till after Russia get knocked out of the Euros. To detract from it the club are leaking various rumours (one of them straight to Star of all people) that the press are jumping up and down on. Interesting thought, it would mean that we can target players that the new manager wants, but would suggest that there's some kind of forward planning going on with the Chelsea management!!! Maksimov
Val, you do have all valuables chained down when he comes to work, don't you?

If that was true, surely it must be pretty hard to negotiate with players when they can't tell their agents who the manager will be. They can't trust the agents to keep a secret, can they? I mean, football agents? Trust? Them? Surely not.

Maksimov
Val knows a scouser with a job so anything's possible. We can't be sure that the fella actually works there. Maybe the job is just a front to divert suspicion so that he can easily get in and out of the building and rob the place from all valuables. Valerie
Val knows a scouser with a job so anything's possible. "Job" is somewhat of an exaggeration for what the scouser is actually doing. But thanks for all the advice, people: I always lock up my valuables (well, my practically wallet, anyway).
Gulpje
Another Guus/Chelsea rumour: Guus Hiddink has a friend; Dutch singer Bennie, who is in our office doing interviews right now. He just said to my co-worker that Guus is going to be the new Chelsea manager. Of course I can't comfirm this. But hey, it's the rumour section right, and it would be great if true! BLUENUT
I don't think Grant was a long-term appointment, regardless of what he may have acheived last season. I think Hiddink may have been lined up for the job prior to the start of last season, Jose was restless and there were abvious struggles behind the scenes at the club. Hiddink had been seen publically with Roman on many occasions and has been indirectly on his pay-roll for sometime! I think Hiddink may have been lined up to take over when Russia were knocked out of the tournament, (around the same time scale of Jose's departure) but in step McClaren and that plan was scuppered as Russia qualified for the finals this summer, leap-frogging ahead of England. Grant is moved as manager from position within the club as more of a politcal PR exercise than anything else, (the fall guy taking the reigns etc...) until their man was available this summer. If this is the case then it would make some sort of sense, and look like the club has a plan, if not...... then f*(k know's?!?!? That's my conspiracy theory anyway, with no insider knowledge, no best mate's work-friend at the club etc..... OK it's just a guess

BLUENUT
That has also swayed my thinking Midland : Plus the recent interviews with Paulo and Ricci - and the fact he's out of contract at the end of the tournament.
