blizeH
I'm going to go with the obvious choice of Robinho, fantastic player who would add much needed width to the side, and has already expressed an incredibly strong desire to join the club. I'm also going with the more controversial Michael Owen; would probably be available for a reasonable amount, and has a great ability to score and create goals. byatt
a striker and a left-sided midfielder are definites i feel... don't know who is about that would be available for the right price, or who would benefit us but i'd be very disappointed not to see any new arrivals today

A big no thanks to Owen. as for his ability to create goals, never in a million years, you need to be able to look up and pass to a team mate in order to achieve this, and it's never been in his locker. cassiya
No way! Owen will never give 100% unless he's playing for Liverfool.

evissy
Well apparently Gomez from Stuttgart and Villa from Valencia are still open for negotiation as City has made bid for them as on top of Berbatov....It is crazy out there! Hope Robinho works out. Dont want us to end up second best or just bone.
PloKoon13
Someone zippy and creative like SWP would be nice  You know, I'm not sure we need anyone else... We have class in every position (assuming Anelka pulls his weight and Drogba sticks around) and also class back-up in every position, so I don't see the need for new players. I'm not sure if Robinho would be the man for that though, he seems like the kind of player who wouldn't be very reliable for us. I'd prefer someone reliable and hard-working like Michael Owen. Of course, this is unless we get d***ed over by injuries like last year, so we'd need four players for every position... :D
chelzdude
transfer window is over. but i do hope we'll get sergio aguero, or alexandre pato?...
munichblue
We have to catch Kaka during next winter transfer period - last chance! The real threat is, if City qualifies for the CL next year they will get whoever they want....
TheWestwayWonder
I doubt Robinho is going to be the smashing success in England everyone has picked him to be. I can only imagine what he wouldve been at our club trying to break into the first team. Since Kaka, Villa, Pato and Aguero are almost CERTAINLY NO-GOs, I would also like to throw my hat in for Zhirkov and Arshavin. Those two are a risk, but would be a cheap risk and in my opinion worth it. I would also try and tempt Bayern with an offer for Ribery who, I think, has the pace and power needed for this league. Up front Huntelaar would be excellent. I wouldnt mind looking at Gomez or someone looking to take the 'step up' but for me KJH is the best young forward available. midlandblue
Young from Villa would be a decent buy, at the right price of corse.
shedboy97
A young, quality striker - Aguero would be nice even if we had to part with £30m +. We got to take a gamble on someone young instead of wanting them once a big club has already taken the chance. A young, fast, nippy winger - Silva from Valencia would be quality! I agree with Young from Villa too, but they would probably demand £25m-£30m.
Tim
Hang on, why do City get anyone they want if they make CL this year? We should still be a far more appetising prospect than moving to City for myriad reasons, regardless of how much money they have. Yes some players will chase the money and nothing more, but I reckon most of our future targets will see a move to Chels as a much more sensible option. We lost out on Robinho because Madrid asked for more, not because the player himself wanted to move to City over us.
TheWestwayWonder
Here is a little tidbit for you all: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...ope&cc=9999 AMSTERDAM, September 2 (Eredivisie) - Ajax have reacted with bewilderment to two last-minute bids for star striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. The 25-year-old has been consistently linked with a move away from the Amsterdam ArenA this summer, despite the club's reluctance to sell. And they were surprised to receive a pair of enquiries, from clubs reportedly willing to pay in the region of 40million euros, just minutes before the closure of the transfer window on Monday night. 'We were perplexed,' said technical director Danny Blind. 'A last-minute transfer of Huntelaar was clearly a no-no for us. i would bet my house one of those two clubs were us. Wouldnt be surprised if the other were the Mancs, looking to cover their arse over Berbatov.
Sheva
You have to rememeber, January will not be a window full of big name signings. The likes of Villa, Arshavin, Aguero etc will all be cup-tied in Europe.

The likes of Villa, Arshavin, Aguero etc will all be cup-tied in Europe. Im not really sure how that works in Russia. Isnt their season from March to Winter? How does that work with regards to Europe. We found a midtable player in Anelka last year who was untied. I think if we're really in need of some reinforcements this winter its not out of the question for a similar move. Duffer anyone? Id take him back
TomW
I wouldn't mind seeing Dean Ashton if we are going for a player from the Premierleague. Has bags of abililty if he can keep fit could be a good signing. Im sure he wouldnt be to much money either.
Sheva
I for one do not believe in signing players like Dean Ashton, bags of ability yer but not Chelsea class. Anelka has been dissapointing for us, if we did sign someone it would have to be a youngster who hasen't been discovered and has the quality to strengthen our squad. Sadly players im describing just aint popping up anywhere and to reply to the Russian season, Arshavin will be cup-tied since Zenit are in the Champions League. Duffer has passed it now, niggled by injuries he will never become the player he was at Chelsea.
