It's been on SSN all day!! certain players celebrating with AVB after Ramires' goal and some didn't, made it sound like the Latin contingent went to the bench and others didn't, i personally think its a load of Bs but want to know what you guys think.
I did see Terry and Cole go to the bench and at the end of the match AVB congartulating and celebrating with Terry.

Terry said in his interview with the Evening Standard that he in fact went over to get the rest of the team because he was worried Wolves would kick off and they'd still be on the bench.
I personally think the whole thing was naff, but I'm not much interested in who went over and who didn't. Way too much being read into this.

Although I agree with those who thought it all looked a bit forced, I think Luiz and Ramires had their heart in the right place by doing it.
One thing you can count on when it comes to Chelsea -- every single little thing will be over-analyzed. Those with an agenda will draw a negative conclusion if they possibly can. Or, in the case of the Sun and the Mail, even when they can't.
I do find it a bit dismaying that a fantasy factory like the Sun can get that kind of reaction from the players, though. I don't blame the players. It's just a shame that this is the state of the media/public/team these days.
From a larger perspective, Chelsea must be pleased that so much is written about the team. Anything to help the international marketing.

I was more concerned that after the winner, Frank really only celebrated with JT and Ashley. Didn't seem to want anyone else around him. Clearly Frank only likes English people and hates every other nationality, so he's trying to get AVB and Torres out to bring in fellow countrymen Harry Redknapp and Darren Bent. Pretty obvious, really.

The press have an agenda and it's to destabilise Chelsea. Some players went over to the bench, the story becomes "some players didn't". Twas forever thus. If they can undermine our manager they will. My guess is it will have the opposite affect, as the players can see through this bullsh*t. It's designed to build pressure. It's a game. The press make life as difficult as they can.
Which players went over? Who was the only significant absentee? Lampard. Maybe Lampard and AVB have a frosty relationship, who cares? Lampard wants to play more AVB thinks differently. Lampard can either get on with it or ask to leave. Looks like he's getting on with it and remains as committed as ever.
I'm sure the manager won't be losing any sleep if one of his players doesn't want to give him a hug. Maybe Lampard was preserving his energy to score a last-minute winner. You never know.
Edit: I just realised Torres didn't hug him either. Mutiny!

It did seem a little forced, ut it also seemed as if AVB ws telling them to get on the pitch too. It was only one goal erly in the second half at wolves for goodness sake.
Also, I think we all need to remember that this supposedm"you have to celebrate with me" nonsense is fictitional anyway, so it's the press reporting on a situation that they made up in the first place.

This was a non story in the first place. AVB said the original "demands that players celebrate with the bench line" was totally false, and yet nobody reported that story at all. eka what Scott said
Personally, I would rather NO players went over and celebrated with the manager so that commentators could shut the f**k up about it everytime we scored a goal, but I understand totally why part of the team wanted to go over and show the manager support.
Remember that winner against Stoke four years ago when the team mobbed Scolari? It didnt work out with him, but its great to see such a visceral reaction to victory by our players.
Thankfully, the rags reporting about this have been contradicted and now look like nothing more than celebrity gossip mags (Ohhh, who likes who, who said what about the manager, etc) so I dont think anyone with a brain is taking this seriously. If we keep winnning they will just shut up.

The best bit about that celebration was that Sam Hutch joined in from the bench. Great to see him fighting for a place, great to see him at all to be fair. Everything else is pretty sh*t, I think they wanted to celebrate with the female doctor on the bench but AVB got in the way.

This whole story is just a load of rubbish.
The players celebrate with the manager and somehow that is turned into a negative thing because not every single player sprinted the length of the pitch to join in....... *sigh*
Seriously boring....

This story is rubbish. There is nothing to it, especially after JT came out and said that he backs AVB and that he went over to celebrate. My issue is completely different. JT has now come out twice and said he is behind AVB. It is obvious that the younger players like Luiz, Ramires, and Sturridge really like AVB. My issue is with Frank. He hasn't said once that he is behind the manager. Instead he has said that he doesn't like being on the bench multiple times. Even after the last game he was asked how he played so well he is quoted in saying, "it is easy when you play from the beginning." Now I know that doesn't mean much but somebody like JT wouldn't say something like that. It seems like Lamps uses subtle comments without using the obvious ones. Lamps seems to be very bitter about the situation compared to JT. JT has come out and said that nobody is above the club, among other things that a true leader would say. Nothing like that has come out of Lampard's mouth.

Been saying this on the Lamps thread, but some people seem to think Frank is just answering questions, as you said he doesn't need to add all the little bits like "Its easier from the start" or "I've been here years" or "I know I'm better when I play every game" its just trying to pressure the manager!

Exactly. You don't here that coming from JT.

I think the JT and Frank situation is slightly different in that JT is still playing on a very regular basis while Frank isn't. Wonder if JT would be singing the same tune if he was playing less like Frank.

Some of Frank's recent comments about the title chase seam to be at odds with AVB's view.
I suspect that if the pair haven't fallen out with each other already, then it won't be long.
Things seam to be a bit 'prickly' between them.
The pair need to get a grip & sort it,(& soon).

SP, Frank may well be trying to pressure the manager or pull rank, but so what? It's pretty harmless. He's peeved at not playing every single game, AVB has other ideas. It's a test of AVB's mettle and one he's passing. So long as Frank doesn't dissent and so long as he gives his all on the pitch, no problem. They do not have to be bosom buddies. When and if Frank's had enough he can go. Personally, I think he'll get used to it, be a very valuable member of the squad, and stay. There are just a few teething issues, which is understandable, given Lampard has never really missed a game in ten years. No big deal, in my opinion.
If it becomes a big deal I'll let you know ;)
I will say however that Lampard wouldn't try this on with England, or Capello. If he's dropped or substituted he will stick to the party line and not say anything that could be misconstrued. Lampard has far more clout at Chelsea, the manager's new and young. He's trying it on, but like I say, not worth worrying about.

Who wouldn't be peeved left sitting on the bench. Frank has every right to be annoyed at times, cause end of the day he does score goals and does it very well from midfield. Wrt the bench celebration there's nothing to it
