Things ar clearly not right with the international team (i win the award for stating the bleeding obvious {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif ), sacking mclaren is inevitable but that wont be enough so what do people on here feel needs to be one

Get rid of all those old spineless tossers at the FA. Sack the f**king lot of them. Get rid of all the over paid superstars who would probably prefer a good long holiday next year rather than have the hassle of playing some two bob tournament. Give them all a chance to spend their millions.

Build a young team for the future and let someone like Wenger or Jose have total control.

That is the worrying thing though Nibs - it isn't really that old a team is it.  A lot of these players are going to be around for a while yet.

McLaren going is clearly inevitable - if it isn't Barwick should be tried for treason.  Then whoever comes in should have the balls to drop players based on form and based on effort, not based on trying to make a name for themselves or pandering to the media.  McLaren dropped Beckham to make a point and then dropped Lampard to try an earn a cuddle from the nation.  He is a spineless cretin.

England do have quite a few good players. Dare I say even Gerrard...

The problem is that while England have many great players, they don't have a team.
England needs someone who can make the players into a team who won't fall apart if someone like Rooney can't play.
Eriksson wasn't a bad choice, but far from a great one. McClaren...well, I don't think I need to comment on him. Complete tosser.
What England needs is someone great like Lippi, Hiddink, Capello or maybe Mourinho.
My guess is that the FA will chose someone like Avram Grant as Steves replacement {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif

No you dare not. Gerrard's biggest contribution to the game was his usual "look at me I'm Stevie G give me a free kick - even if it was outside the box it's me me me so I should have a penalty act"... and to look disgusted when the ref quite rightly didn't fall for it. A shame so many Premiership referees are so easily (or even willingly) conned by that particular lowlife Scouse git.

Let last night's result stand as fitting testimony to Saint Steven's captaincy of the England team.

After Croatia scored (again and again) I prayed it wouldn't be Stevie Me to level. Under his captaincy England screwed up their chance to qualify, at least that's a satisfying thought.

The decision to dump McClaren rests with 10 of the FA's committee: Manchester United chief executive David Gill; Premier League chairman Sir Dave Richards; Bolton chairman Phil Gartside; Ipswich chairman David Sheepshanks; Football League chairman Lord Mawhinney; Dave Henson (Devon FA); Michael Game (Essex FA); Roger Burden (Gloucestershire FA); John Ward (Hampshire FA) and Barry Bright (Kent FA).

as Mike O pointed out the fate of English football is in this lot's hands ?? Any wonder we are completley f*cked at all levels.

I would recomend players pay to play for England

What needs to happen is simple.

The FA need to appoint a manager who has the ability to organise and motivate players, to formulate a basic method of playing and to create a team from a group of talented individuals.  Pretty much sums up the job of being a manager really.

There are people who can do the job but whether they will want to or not remains to be seen.
