Enzo is a one trick pony, he played the same system at leicester as he did Chelsea as he is at City. If they signed Caicedo, he’d play the same role he did last season under Maresca.

That true, but James will be injured or resting half the time, same for Lavia, Henderson I don’t think is intended to actually play, Barco I want to be great but I’m not so sure and Caicedo is starting to worry me about his fitness now. Well, he’s not Enzo Fernandez, which is good, and he’s not a full back being asked to play in centre midfield, which is also good. And £43m is naff all these days. And even if he’s a Bakayoko, we’ll probably sell him for £55m next summer.

You are making this 1-to-1, and that's the fundamental disagreement I have. If City magically had Caicedo today, where exactly do you think he'd play? When was the last time you saw a Caicedo-type midfielder playing in City's midfield? That's precisely why I'm hesitant to project Enzo's Chelsea role onto City. The whole setup is different.

Yay, it worked, we’ve signed one! Hopefully he’s as good I’m imagining him to be. Still settling in and what not to be done, but I feel we can hang on to Arsenal and City’s coat tails for a bit longer this season with a better set of midfield options. Surely a top four finish is ours for the taking. Score a hundred goals and concede maybe only 50 now!

Looks like Camara is happening, had a feeling something was gonna happen although Balagun failing his medical helped it fall into place apparently. Now we have a younger hungrier player better suited for the role and system and Enzo out. £75-80m in the bank as well. Happy days.

10/10 transfer window. Credit where it’s due, a lot of people moaned we weren’t quick enough during the World Cup but I don’t think a club has ever had a window as successful as this one. Shifted so much dead wood, got a proper manager and signed genuine talent for once. All isn’t forgiven but this is the direction the club should have been moving in years ago.

I just think we need to be slightly realistic here We've got Caicedo, Barco, Camara, Lavia, James and Henderson to compete for 2 positions. We aren't in Europe.
