  1. Past hour

  2. Please Alonso I beg.
  3. How Gusto stayed on the pitch is astonishing. Frightening if he's the only option.
  4. Think he needs to tell Rogers to track back more, I like him up front but he’s not putting in as much of shift as Palmer and João when off the ball
  5. Don't think my hearts going to cope with games like these this season. It's like Newcastle under Keegan so far. I'm loving the wining but I've now got even more grey hair.

  9. Unless we get at the minimum 2 new midfielders and sort out that defence we are going no where even if we only play 1 game a week
  10. Very early in the season, but he has been our worst defender so far. He came back strong after his injury last season, but now he is starting on equal footing with everybody else, and we are really seeing the affects of an ACL injury. Always a step behind the opposition player, never gets in front of them, mistiming headers, not getting a good leap. It happens to every player after this injury, it's going to take time.
  11. Now i understand why we allegedly want both Ruiz & Camara
  12. Coming off like that is a worry, a big worry.
  13. Enjoyed that, some exciting football so far, but we do need a top, top DM in before the window closes
  14. A nervy win against a good team. I'm just hoping that the powers that be at this club see today's game and realise we need a new midfielder this week. 6 out of 6 points is a good start though.
  15. Not sure what’s going on at the back. That was horrendous. We were lucky to only concede 3. Looks like we’re also going to need to spend the Fernandez money on a couple of midfielders. Three points in the bag, but it’s a pity the Arsenal game is coming so soon.
  16. Burnt out and it's finally caught up to him.
  17. He mistimes too many headers. He never got a single one right today. He either jumped too early or headed it straight to a Brighton player.
  18. Always happens with this ridiculously overrated referee. It's the same with all of these overwhelmingly northern PL referees. They're biased against most London teams tbh. Thank God the tunc Taylor is no more.
  19. I would never go there with Desailly. I'm talking more about the BlueCo era French players. They're a bunch of yellow bellies, cowardly.
  20. Harsh on Marcel. Don't disagree on Gusto. Whatever happened to him 'agreeing to join City' as reported in that Xitter post a couple of months ago in this thread?
  21. Fair points although I still think Neto defended more effectively than the useless Gusto. Prat can't even throw a ball ffs
  22. He had options, under no circumstance should Gusto be CM. He could have played Barco alongside Lavia or even James. I am not a big fan of James in midfield, but he's a better option than Gusto. If he is an injury risk, then this takes me right back to the summer where I said we need to move on from him, because we can't go into games concerned about the fitness of James all of the time. Either he needs to be available every game, or we move on. Hopefully this is sorted out by next week and we have a couple of new CM's at the club.
  23. Was seen heading down the tunnel quite upset. He may well be out a long, long time...
  24. It’s been a good start. 3 wins from 3 in all competitions is very positive. Our attacking game looks excellent, and we’re an exciting team to watch. Obviously the defensive issues are a concern and something we will need to address. Given the lighter schedule this season without European football, hopefully Xabi has more time than usual to sort out our defensive problems. Overall, it’s enjoyable watching us again. Looking forward to Arsenal next week.
  25. Well I have been craving some football for the last 4 years and at last I have watched three entertaining games in a row. The ploy for Martinez to go long from the hands is a clear ploy for us to concede possession and play on the counter. On transition we have the tools to be devastating. The other side of Alonso's gameplay, certainly at Dortmund was gegenpressing and being solid defensively. Clearly we still have some work to do and it shouldn't be lost that two of the conceded goals came from forward players not being defensively aware and the third was a slow response to a quick turnover. Acheampong already looks so much better under Alonso and I have also been pleasantly surprised by Neto's contribution. We have to get rid of this useless weak Gusto and get some more presence in the pivot as well. Alonso and his team will sort this defence out once they are all fully fit and functioning. I am sure of it Room for improvement but my God a world way from the sterile sh*t we have been fed for the last few seasons.
  26. Attack - very good Midfield - mishmash Defence - horrendous
