Remember: Last 8 PL games he has started: 1 win, 3 draws and 4 losses (6 points) In the same period, without him in PL: 12 games, 7 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses (24 points) If one were to take points per game of these 12 games and extend to those 8 games, we would be better off by 10 points. It was not much of an attacking sub, more a like for like sub. Ramires was introduced and he took up Mikel's position in the pivot. The thing is, this is the only response I have when people tell me that his job is to recycle possession and protect the defense. When I say that he is too slow on the ball, too many sideways passes, suspect positionally, I am barged by posts like "you dont know the game", "mikel's is a thankless job that only a person with good eye for the game can appreciate" etc. I am not saying that he does not have his merits (useful when defending with 10 men) but we dont have the personal now to continue playing that way.

Good sense prevails and Mikel is taken off and we win the game 5-4. Your move.

Just a simple question: Why do the team's performances and results drop considerably when he gets in? Surely it cant just be a coincidence.

@Plokoon: Chelsea is a team that fights for top honours not mid table mediocrity. Edit: besides there are many inaccuracies in that list. And also let me add, we were trailing READING when he was subbed off. We came back to win it after we threw him out of the pitch. We were drawing with Stoke when we subbed him and then later we came back to win it. Numerous such examples. Dont get me into details, it will only get more embarrassing for John Obi Mikel and his vociferous supporters.
