Well that might be down to the fact that some people on here don't really watch matches outside of the PL or even matches Chelsea aren't involved in. SOME PEOPLE, not all and I'm included in not knowing much about other players. But if I have to guess and going by opinions I see on other forums, they might list defenders like Hummels, Subotic, Chiellini, Dante, Ramos, I. Martinez, Varane, Godin, Vertongen. Again, I never really watched any of these players beside Varane and Ramos on more than a few occasions. Maybe other people can debate the rest.

Did he play as the DM for Holland in the u-21's championship? I read that he played deeper that Strootman and Maher and did well even though he's more of a box to box midfielder. I never saw him play once though.

Wasn't it reported that Falcao had a 3rd party ownership situation? Maybe that was a stumbling block or he just went after some extra money at Monaco. There was no doubt that the club was interested in him though.

Would be a good fall back option if Cavani doesn't come. He and Lukaku are comfortable playing with other strikers as well. They can both start together in some matches, which is a plus.

I honestly don't care what these 'pundits' or 'football experts' have to say and I don't think Chelsea fans should either. These people are just trying to stay relevant. I know Luiz has shown good defensive qualities, I think Chelsea fans from both sides would agree on that. But as I said before, he has a tendency to have a good game one day then do something terrible a game or two later. Consistency makes a player in my view. If he goes on this season and does well then I would admit he's proved me wrong. Lots of Chelsea players who I held certain opinions on has proved me wrong before and happy they did.

No, you misunderstand. Not trying to take it away from him but people trying to make him out to be the best defender we have, even though he is inconsistent, because of one clearance is a bit much. I just used Terry and Cole to show they have it that in their game as well.

The second one was more impressive than Luiz, considering the time he had and his body movement. Ashley Cole has done it numerous times for Chelsea too. Showing a clip of Luiz doing something like that once, doesn't prove much when we've already seen other players in our squad capable of doing the same thing.

I've seen Terry done that more than once. More difficult ones too.
