As someone who has no insight into transfer negotiations, how the club & CHO negotiate, what it all entails and how involved contracts can be I’m gonna say... sod it, sell him. I think he’s going to see how much he plays this season and if it’s every game and he wins us the CL he’ll go Madrid on a free. If it’s hardly anything he’ll go to Bayern on a free. Whatever happens, he won’t be signing a contract. Might be OTT with that first example but that’s how rational I’m feeling about this whole thing.

I don’t know all the facts in the case, I have zero behind the scenes knowledge but judging from that statement - you do. So providing the detailed information you have of Chelsea & what we’ve done, Lampard & what he’s done and Derby & what you’ve done would aid in determining the validity of your remark. In addition all the communication, finances, correspondence, talks that you’ve seen to, again, substantiate your claim would be most helpful. I don't think that's EB's point (correct me if I'm wrong EB), it's the fact we've seemingly left it so close to pre-season again. Of course there could be a variety of reasons and it could well be down to Derby and Frank rather than us... but there's nothing wrong with being exacerbated at the whole situation.

I echo your concerns Brit, I wasn't once convinced of him last season, not once. In fact his inclusion over Barkley or RLC was perplexing. Hopefully he proves me wrong next season if he stays... but he hasn't done anything to be a starter.
