I reckon Liverpool told Ox/his agent that they'll match the price Arsenal accepted from a rival (as the two clubs had a major falling out over the Suarez deal) and then he can reject that club and join Liverpool. I think if you accept an amount from one club if another matches it you've still got to allow that player to talk to the new club. Very underhanded and unethical... So very apt considering the football club involved.

After thinking about it more I really think he had a last minute change of heart and whilst that may make us look stupid the board can't help an 11th hour u-turn by a player. The frustration that we loaned Boga out I can understand but I don't think it's fair to solely blame the board for this.

That's what I can't understand, surely you don't bid on a player without knowing he wants to come? Unless he has had a last minute change of heart of course.

I suspect Liverpool are interested, have conveyed that and are now just preparing to match our offer. If they don't I think he'll reluctantly agree to sign for us or stay one more year at Arsenal and go for a free the following season.

I reallllly doubt we've ever been seriously interested in him, we've been used, as standard, to drive up the price. He'll be at Man City if he wants to stay in England or PSG as clearly they don't give a crap about FFP.
