Kai Havertz
I think that the issue is really with some twat who claimed Havertz is already one of our best players and then doubled down with graphs and google-stats when I and some others said that the player hadn't actually done anything in a Blue shirt to justify that hyperbolic bullsh*t. Which then generated another tsunami of cut-and-paste statistics and pretty pictures.

I haven't seen anything yet that convinces me that that makes sense @Slojo As I have said many times, the lad might well turn out to be the best player in the world, as some claim he already is, but so far, for Chelsea, which is all I care about, he has just mostly been a bit pants, and a damaging liability on a couple of occasions. But then I haven't got the google skills or the in-depth graphic cut and paste knowledge to prove it with pretty pictures.- Christmas Musical Connections 2020

Still, that match proved conclusively once and for all that the young google-meister knows all about just how good Havertz is in a blue short and how piss-poor a judge of footballers I am, not knowing how to collate stats and all that.- Kai Havertz
That may well be a perfectly logical explanation for his performances so far, but then it even more undermines some google-experts claim that he is "one of our best players". Your best players don't only get started playing half-way through a season, if what you say about "even last season he didn't properly explode until after Christmas" And he didn't really play 4 different positions in 4 matches - he was always across a midfield in some way or another.- Kai Havertz
And the simple differences is that no-one is claiming any of them to be "one of our best players" based on very little game time and even less evidence.- Kai Havertz
Cheers @Paddy- Kai Havertz
Just look at the coating Christensen (and Tomori, to a lesser extent) got when they did something similar. Christensen has never been forgiven by some of the more FM2020 experts in here.- Kai Havertz
Critical bit is the word "OR", mate. Explicitly states that it isn't both. I just haven't seen anything as yet from him in a Blue shirt to justify any schoolkids stating as if it was gospel written in stone that he is "one of our best players", regardless of how much google-stats they copy and paste relating to random other players in different leagues, in different teams under totally different circumstances. I don't disagree that he needs time to settle in, and may well turn out to be our best ever player, ever, but he has done nothing yet for us to make me say that he is that already. A simple tap-in against a mid-table team doesn't quite do it for me when that stats boy starts comparing him to proper, proven goal-scorers. And, in response to the bold bit, was nearly always looking off the pace and out of his depth, directly responsible for us losing at least 2 goals by just being a bit pants in a dangerous area. That said, I'd be more than ecstatic for the lad to turn out to be our Zidane/Messi/Maradona/Nobby Stiles, but I was just saying I haven't seen any proof of that yet, and some twat copy and pasting stats from Whoscored about how well he played in the Aachen under-11's league at the age of 10 doesn't convince me yet, We have had so many new shiny latest greatest player on earth signings over the recent years that I want to actually see that amazing talent on the pitch in the Blue, rather than what google tells me. TBH, we all got excited about Oscar and Pato at the time. That ended well.- Kai Havertz
Sorry, Scott, but this Chelsea fan wasn't "very happy with his performances" I have yet to see anything that justifies him being a nailed on starter. What was your choice of "our best performance of the season"? Not one of the ones where he gave the ball away costing us a goal against, was it?- Kai Havertz
I sorta knew you'd come back with a whole raft of selective statistics, totally ignoring the 2 or 3 times he has been directly responsible for goals against us by overplaying in dangerous areas. Or were they the assists you were referring to? Any road up, I don't obtain my view on football from Transfermarkt, WhoScored.com or Google, I judge it on actually watching matches. If you are going to list the goals scored by random players at an arbitrary age, and use those statistics to back up a claim that you have made, then you have to qualify those statistics. Who did they score against, what league was it in, who else was in the side when they scored those goals, what was the weather like, the referee, what did the opposing goal-keeper have for supper the night before? Were all of these other players' goals against such quality opposition as West Brom, Palace and Southampton? You can't just take a number in isolation and treat it as anything other than a random number.- Kai Havertz
You keep saying this, without offering any proof whatsoever. I watch every match and I am yet to see anything to warrant him getting a start, let alone be considered one of our best players. The only memorable things he has done in a Blue shirt has been twice (or three times?) give the ball away in a dangerous area by overplaying it or losing control, resulting in the opposition scoring against us. The lad might be the next best player in the world, but he hasn't shown anything yet to make me think it to be true.- Rennes v Chelsea (CL) Tue 24th Nov 2020 17:55 GMT
I thought teams from the same country were kept apart in the first knock-out round.- Anti-Chelsea media
Did I see some tits referring to the TV licence as "a lefty tax"??????? Really? A licence introduced originally introduced by the Conservative government of 1904, aligned with the BBC by the Conservative government of 1922, and then dedicated to the full funding of the BBC in 1927 by another Conservative government. It was jacked up from £34 to £58 by Thatcher, What sort of right-wing tool do you have to be to consider Lord Salisbury, Bonar Law, Stanley Baldwin and Thatcher as "lefty"??- Rennes v Chelsea (CL) Tue 24th Nov 2020 17:55 GMT
Have you not seen the pages and pages of stuff about all the other matches that get televised, soft buggers going on about how great the dippers are and how they are bound to stroll the league again because the only lost 7-2 to Villa, or how Sheffield United deserved Europa League football purely because they were brave and plucky underdogs who ran about a lot and did their very best in circumstances they found extremely challenging. I honestly believe that a large number of the posters in here are football fans who have an affinity towards Chelsea, with a minority being Chelsea fans and Chelsea only. I never watch (or want to watch) any other teams, and I don't have a grudging respect for, of admiration of, any other team whatsoever. (Oh, except I keep an eye out for Bristol Rovers' scores each week for nostalgic reasons). I am an equal opportunities hater, they are all rubbish, with the exception of a few clubs, who rise to the level of scum.- Super Frank Lampard
No, we're playing Spuds next week.- Chelsea v Sheff Utd (PL) Sat 7th Nov 2020 17:30 GMT
OK, we have differing views about that. You say "a lack of faith from Lampard", I say an unconvincing performance when given a chance from a player who needs to put in a 12/10 performance to make himself undroppable next time. I don't claim he's had chance after chance, the lad hasn't featured that much, but when he has, he has mostly failed to stake a claim to be picked to start in the bigger games. That's why I think he has found his level, early round cup games and premier league matches against the sh*ttier small teams like WBA, L**ds or Spuds.- Chelsea v Sheff Utd (PL) Sat 7th Nov 2020 17:30 GMT
He scored against the whipping boys of the group, in a match that we were dominating and he did nada for the rest of the match. The lad is probably good, but nowhere near the Messi-anic levels of adulation he gets from some people, (see what I did there?) and also nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. Whenever he does get a chance, he rarely, if ever, makes you go "WOW" in the way that the top players do.- Chelsea v Sheff Utd (PL) Sat 7th Nov 2020 17:30 GMT
And in what way do you think that Callum is better than any of those four sufficiently to dislodge them from the team? Genuine question, because I don't see it. Callum's last couple of appearances emphasised exactly for me why he will get a few minutes subs appearances here and there and early cup rounds or matches against the sh*ttier premier league teams, and that is what he deserves.- Chelsea v Sheff Utd (PL) Sat 7th Nov 2020 17:30 GMT
Don't woory, I've gota russian stream- Chelsea v Sheff Utd (PL) Sat 7th Nov 2020 17:30 GMT
anyone got a decent stream? All my usual ones are showing the same FA Cup match as BBC2- Super Frank Lampard
My wife looked at it and said "those other team boys seem to be running around like little Jack Russell terriers. They'll be very tired in the second half"- Willian
I thought we had a "I'm pining for my ex" thread specifically for this sort of thing 🙂- Willian
But generally, people aren't bitch-whining about all the other exes lie they were whie the bloke was here. Just appears a little sad, like 13-year old girls whose first boyfrend has gone off with their bestie. - Kai Havertz
