Chelsea v Luton (FA) Sun 24th Jan 2021 12:00 GMT
I don't know why the standard 2-3-5 line-up ever went out of fashion. That and jumpers for goalposts and rush goalies.

Super Frank Lampard
It should be honoured because it's a contract and that is the honourable thing to do. All of those other managers should have had their contracts honoured as well. But that's not the point. We are 3 points worse off now than last season at the same time. Halfway through a season that is f**k all. we have had a blip, but have only lost 6 league matches all season. No-one was bitch-whining about sacking the manager when we beat Leeds, or at any time before that in the season. A few bad results and all the toys go out the pram and you and other start whining and bleating about sacking the man. That to me is the epitome of self-entitled plastic glory hunting. Now I know @Slojo is not one of those, so I accuse you of having hacked his forum login. That is the only reason I can see for some of what you have posted in his name. Frank was appointed for a 3 -year project and very nearly everyone in here at the time was expressing a view that a couple of years without challenging for the title or winning anything major would be acceptable. Now that a mid-season slump, not unknown for us in the winter, has happened, people start of on this "give me a new shiny thing", sack the manager, buy more players, blah, blah, blah. And finally, I'm not pretending anything. I am saying outright that anyone who 18 months ago was saying "I'll be happy if Frank brings through some young 'uns and I'll accept 2 or 3 seasons without major honours" and is now jumping on the knee-jerk "sack the manager" bandwagon after a couple of bad results is a hypocritical bastard and should have a good look at them selves. And I can't see ANY legitimate reason for sacking the manager after a few bad matches and when still only 9 points off top spot. But then I have just seen some f**king idiot say "not this boring attacking football nonsense". I rest my case.

Kai Havertz
If he turned in the level of performance that he has mostly shown in a Chelsea shirt while playing for the local Dog and Duck 2nd eleven on a Sunday morning, we wouldn't be telling him where the minibus was picking up the next week. That's all I'm saying.

Leicester v Chelsea (PL) Tues 19th Jan 2021 20:15 GMT
If that's the case, why don't out front 5 all go stand in the opposition 6-yard box at every goal kick, and we give Mendy extra distance kicking practice? It would bollocks up any of this goal kick to opposition mid-field to start a counter attack. See, I can be a FIFA16 expert, just like the rest of you.

As someone else has said above, the man has a 3 year contract and that should be honoured. 15th or below is neither here nor there. I don't get all creamed in the jeans about top four or finishing above Arsenal, my position has consistently been get to 40 points and avoid relegation and anything over and above that is a bonus. Don't get me wrong, the recent rollercoaster years have been amazing, but even if we got relegated again, it wouldn't change my love of and support for the club. As I see it, and tried to explain in my previous post as nicely as I could, I think the knee-jerk demands for Frank to be sacked are, for the most part, a result of a more modern, I want it all and I want it now, twattering class of fan who has a sense of entitlement and exceptionalism, and are forever wanting the latest shiny shiny thing, be it a manager they know very little about but has been mentioned on Sky Sports, some 17-year old winger that they have seen a youtube compilation of or Declan f**king Rice, FFS. I disagree with that attitude mainly because we are ONLY halfway through the season, we have won 8 and drawn 5 out of 19 matches and are in a bit of a slump at the moment. I see no logical reason why we must sack a manager for a short run of matches that we have lost in a time of the year when, traditionally, Chelsea have performed badly, for whatever reason. We lost 12 matches last season and finished 4th. We are currently at P W D L F A GD Points Chelsea 19 8 5 6 33 23 10 29 On match 19 last year we had lost more, had a worse goal difference and were 3 points better off. Chelsea 19 10 2 7 33 27 6 32 To my mind, Frank was appointed to develop youth, and install a long-term project, and, at the time, the vast majority of posters in here, and at the Bridge, were saying forcefully that they would take a year or two without silverware and challenging for the title as long as the youth were brought through and we we "weren't playing f**king Sarriball." Now the fickle f**ks have turned and gone all squirrelly because we have lost 3 out of the last 5. Sometimes, and I may have mentioned this before once or twice, our online fanbase embarrass the f**k out of me.

Weren't we saying similar things about Werner in the summer?

Super Frank Lampard
It's a sh*t time to be surrounded by sh*t Chelsea fans with no patience and a weird sense of entitlement to be winning everything, all the time or else "I'm bored so let's move on to the next shiny thing and give him 12 matches before we start bitch-whining about him, wanting him sacked." Given the number of amazing tactical geniuses there are in here who have forsaken their careers as top level football managers to live with their mums and earn a living shelf-stacking in Lidl, there's a reason why we all know much much better about tactics than professionals who have stayed in football instead. Seems a very large number of the ex-football insiders have all joined up recently once we get into a results slump

You and a lot of others keep on saying this, mate, obsessed with the money spent What none of you ever mention when doing so is that, of that 200 million, over half of it was spent on two players who have turned out to be utter garbage, without even the basics of a pub-football level player for the most part, Ziyech is in and out with injury, and in and out of form when he does play, and doesn't look to me like a player who will put in the tackles when necessary. Take that and compound it with Chilwell being a bit more breakable than a cheese straw, CHO never stepping up when he gets a chance, Pulisic trying way too hard to make it all happen on the few occasions he isn't injured, Jorginho being slower than a glacier, Kante having developed headless chicken syndrome and Giroud being our best striker at the age of 103. (I could go on!) And I know I have now opened my self up to a tsunami of over 100 googled graphs and 22 hours of Youtube showing how Havertz was the best ever player in the world in the Bremen under-13's league from that google-twat, but we all have our crosses to bear.

Super Frank Lampard
Not to be also pedantic, but we are less than half the matches played, we are 6 points off 3rd and 8 points off a w**ky and very lucky united in 1st. We still have the same goal difference as Leicester and better than United. And still we have bitches whining about having to sack the manager. Some people truly are the epitome of spoilt brats. The problem we have is that the forum and the world of social media increasingly attracts the sort of football fan who only really knows what "statistics" Sky sports and Google tells them, and are conditioned to scream and scream and scream till they make themselves sick if whatever football club they have attached themselves to this time around aren't winning everything in sight. We've had a big influx of world-class football managers and tacticians join up lately to enlighten us with their erudition, and we've had waves like that before, and no doubt will again. I think all clubs get that, and, to an extent, always have, be it Surrey united supporters or the range of Liverpool "fans" in the 80's all over Cornwall and Devon. Trouble is these days, the internet and all that twatter/social meeja and forums stuff allows these people to spread their delusions all over the places and also gives them a false belief that people have to take them seriously.

Step 1 - mission accomplished, smartarse.

Super Frank Lampard
And I have to be honest and say that bold bit is bollocks. If we scrape a drab 1-0 win in every match between now and the end of the season, that will still be 89 points, probably good enough for top 4, the FA Cup and the Champions league. Not one of you moaning minnies would be whingeing on about changing the manager then.

Kai Havertz
27 is very very young to me mate.

So is Ziyech. Just saying, is all.

Super Frank Lampard
And people droning on about how much money we spent ( seemingly an obsession with some of our fans) ignores the fact that Havertz and Werner have turned out to be not quite good enough yet (actually they are both a bit pants, but I don't have a Youtube compilation to prove that), Ziyech has been good-ish the very few times he's actually played at full fitness, Chilwell has been out for a good period and Silva is 104-years old. But the fickleness of some (a lot?) means that the same supporters who were raving on a few weeks ago about challenging for the title after a long unbeaten run then turn after a few poor results and start ranting about Frank not being good enough and we need a new old man from the EU (would that be allowed anyway, these days?) And mostly, these were the same people who last season were saying "I will accept a period without European football, silverware and titles as long as Frank brings through the young 'uns and doesn't look like Sarri". No f**king patience and a deep sense of entitlement, some people.

But you are obviously ignoring the fact that we ONLY scored 4 against a team playing 2 banks of 5 across their own penalty area, and whose only game plan was to not get battered. Jeesus, dicky, you know nothing about football, do you?
-
Fikayo Tomori
Didn't you know the only reason Mount gets picked is because he is Frank's favourite?
-
Timo Werner
But, but, but....... Where are the pie charts and Venn diagrams to prove this??? No pictures? It never happened.
-
Super Frank Lampard
The thing I noticed at the same time was that they were pressing us right back in our own penalty area, but doing it at a sprint every time. I said to the cat at the time, they won't be able to keep that up for long, but it turns out they didn't need to. From that google-meister? Surely not.

Thomas Tuchel
We get a lot of those, @Nibs. Know everything, no patience and want it all and want it NOW!!!! Unless they can come up with anything sensible or even mildly thought out, I just ignore the f**kers. Sadly, they rarely do. I blame Kenyon.

A Circuit Break
There you go @Valerie, I've fixed that for you. We have just gone up to very nearly 1000 deaths a day again, and I can see no possible reason for football to be exempted from the regulations, other than greed.

Chelsea v Man City (PL) Sun 3rd Jan 2021 16:30 GMT
Would be incredibly harsh, seeing as we are not even half-way through the season, we've only lost 4 matches and we are 3 points off of 3rd place and 4 points off 2nd. I don't think the club will be as knee-jerky or impatient as some of our delightful fans, but you're right, at Chelsea, anything could happen.

A Circuit Break
And then properly enforced 14-day isolation, obviously.
