For me; rest Silva and keep him fresh for Spurs. Not sure if James can cope with Son so he starts here with Azpi coming in on the weekend. Emerson starts at LB. Zouma & Rudiger at CB.

Mount sits this one out needs to be 100% for Spurs, Havertz comes in for him.

Don’t understand why people want to drop Tammy for Giroud.

Tammy isn't being dropped for Giroud I like to call it rotation and healthy competition. Abraham will come back in against Spurs. Silva already had his rest today, he doesn't need another rest against Rennes. I actually dont mind Havertz coming in for Mount just so Mount can rest and Havertz can get some minutes

Because of the threat spurs will be i wouldnt play silva,my team would be

                 Mendy

Dave    Rudy   Zooma   Emerson

                    Kante  Jorginho

                          Havertz

Ziyech           Giroud         Cho

Wow, you would make 6 or 7 unforced changes from the team that has become the norm since the Burnley game with Kante playing in front of the back four ?

Or to put it another way, you would only retain 4 of the “usual” starting 11 ?

You would pick Rudiger in front of Silva ?

You would actually choose Jorginho and Kante and leave out Mount ?

You would consciously select Hudson Odoi before Werner ?

You would drop TA in favour of Giroud ?

And all of the above because of the “threat spuds will be” - Blimey, they must a bigger pile of sh*t than I had realised ?

You sure you can’t find a spot for Kepa ?

I'm just thinking of rest, that team is still capable of winning ,its because of facing spurs next which I don't want to lose.

Yeah, sorry about that,  I got your point and I was sorta half joking.

I too advocate changes, but I think 7 is too many - I do think relationships and understanding gained when playing together regularly is important.

I would make less changes to the starting 11 and bring on all of the allowed ( is it 5 ?) subs very early 2nd half.

Definately no place for Kepa tho ??

Not sure if those absent at Newcastle can play in this one.

If so i would start Havertz and Silva and Pulisic on the bench.

Mendy

Azpi

Zouma

Silva

Chilwell

Kante

Havertz

Mount

Ziyech

Giroud

Werner

With 5 subs we can look to do the job and if we can get it done early can take off Mount, Havertz and Werner early too.

I don't see any chance of Pulisic playing, well maybe 5 minutes at the end. Have to have one eye to Spurs. Spurs are at home to bottom of their group ludogrets and we have to travel.

Some players have had a lot of minutes Frank said as much. Reece James looked like he might have had a knock against Newcastle.

Tammy hasn't played that much, but Werner has. Mount has had a lot of minutes, Kante only played one of the internationals and Chilwell needs a bit of nursing.. Zyech, has had quite a few minutes but actually I don't think he has slotted in completely yet, a number of his passes could have been better. Havertz will come in for some minutes and might start if he's fit.

Win this and beat spurs and we will be looking good. If I had to choose I'd take a draw here if it meant beating spuds.

Good, I don’t have to stay up later! People never consider us poor souls who have to get up at stupid hours, it’s all me me me!

And don't forget that for some who shall remain nameless (in short: me, me, me ) it's even an hour later compared to the UK! I start yawning by 9 pm :blush2:

Lampard has confirm Havertz is available for selection but unsure how fit he is after missing two weeks of group training.

Silva can travel after missing the Newcastle game. Pulisic won't travel as he works to regain match fitness.

                    Mendy

James - Zouma - Rudiger - Chilwell

                      Kante

               Kovacic - Mount

        Ziyech - Abraham - Werner

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Give Silva another game to rest to ensure he's fully rested for the Spurs game. Aim to bring Havertz on at around the hour mark, again to make sure he's ready for the Spurs game. The team played well enough at the weekend to not need to chop and change... Try to secure qualification as soon as possible a win against Rennes and a draw against Seville and we're through and we could rest players for the Krasnodar game.

God i love the fact internationals are over,we get to see our team twice a week,a win and a clean sheet tonight please boys.

Did it take longer than usual or were there just more pointless matches than ever? There is just no point to football when it's not Chelsea playing, is there.

Come on Chelsea, onwards and upwards!
