  1. if you say so.
  2. me neither. Someone who's girlfriend Willian stole when they were in primary school together commented on why he was bought. I said why I though he was bought. But, whether he's Sarri's favourite or not, I don't know. Judging by appearances, more so than Pedro. Judging on whether Sarri takes him out bowling and buys him pizza, I don't have sufficient evidence to make a call either way
  3. You might not have seen the matches, then, or were maybe a bit young at the time, I don't know, but he played amazingly against us, and, as far as I have seen in here, you are the only one who argues that fact. Don't know if we were a bit sh*t TBH. depends on your definition of sh*t. Playing regularly in Europe, sh*t, or losing to Bournemouth two seasons on the trot sh*t. In either case, we played against Willian and professional football people, you know, people who's livelihoods depend on it, decided that his performance was so good that we had to go and buy him. (No, Teixeira was nowhere near as good and never on anyone's radar as far as I was aware, as can be seen by his subsequent career) You might well be able to use google to support your snide and dismissive sarcasm, by picking the silliest of purchases in that season, but why, in the interests of balance, didn't you also mention Matic, Schurrle, Salah and E'to in that purchasing season?? (Oh, and are you really saying that Moses was sh*t buy too?) Every manager plays him because he performs a valuable role in a team game. Maybe not the role you might want him to play, but very much a role that professional football managers, as opposed to you playing football manager on your playstation, want him to play.
  4. So, which is it? They haven't had a "proper chance" (copyright all the top club managers who are members of this forum) or they are better then those they would replace? What "current form" are you judging Christensen on? He's hardly played. Same for Emerson. I'd agree about CHO, exciting, if a bit raw. RLC I'm still not convinced about. Sometimes he looks something special, sometimes he just looks like a lazy lump with the touch of a baby elephant. On Sunday, he might as well have not come on and let us play with 10 men, a couple of games earlier in the season he looked like a nailed-on first team starter and game changer. That's what is so frustrating about him.
  5. FFS, do you just spend your time trawling the internet for any and every negative thing you can find about our club? It's getting f**king wearing now. You rarely ever seem to post anything else but snide quotes from sh*t-hole sources of bollocks, places like The Sun, FFS, or Matt Law, or The Mail.
  6. Not getting at you @brownindian in any way, more the doom-merchants who now see OGS's United as being on a par with 1970's Brazil, but, I'll say it again, United haven't played anyone decent in that run to overtake us, and I believe that their board looked at the fixture list and decided that was the ideal time to sack Mourinho because, whoever or whatever took over was going to get near maximum points from that run of fixtures. Look what happened last night, the first time they have come up against a decent team. f**ked over was what they were. Some people need to get some semblance of reality, look at the overall picture and stop being such fannies about 1 point off fourth at this stage of the season and still in all three cups. And they need to take your emboldened part into account as well.
  7. No need for apologies, mate, I wasn't moaning about you, but about our wonderful press, using that picture when they could have used a picture of Willian and Giroud or any of the others actually involved.
  8. And to make it all the more important a headline, they have a picture of Luiz and Emerson, who had nothing to do with the practice match, it being for "substitutes and other unused squad players "
  9. How the hell did I miss this thread? Or did I? Charlie Cooke or Hutch? Can't decide. Wanted to be the best winger in the world, but also wanted the best long throw in the world.
  10. And that's what the squad he inherited is doing. At the start of the season a lot of people in here were posting how they would be happy with challenging for a top four place and maybe a decent run in a cup. We're doing the first and still in all three cups we entered. But, on the back of a couple of very bad results, they've all changed their minds and the manager has to be sacked. Talk about hypocrisy and lack of patience.
  11. but not, apparently, in our squad.
  12. And I do argue that, of course we should, but you're old enough @Nibs, you know sh*t happens, football is a funny old game, saint. I don't think we actually played that badly against City, to read all the sh*t in here you'd think we played like a pub team, kick and rush. Sometimes you just have to put your hand up and say that we came up against a much better team and got beaten. Losing to Bournemouth was much worse, in my view, but the desperate bitch-whining about losing a couple of matches and so we got to sack the manager is just f**king stupid and indicative of just how spoilt we have become, as if we have a god-given right to win all our matches and be top of the league. Last year it was Watford and Bournemouth back-to-back and there were the same spoilt brat children wanting the manager sacked. Some bugger said these were the WORST. RESULTS. EVER. ( or in his lifetime, anyway) Prick must be about 3 years old or has only been a "fan" for a couple of years. Wasn't that long ago we lost 3-0 at home to Sunderland. And got kicked out of the FA Cup at home by Bradford or some other northern pub team. Both of those were MUCH worse than losing to this City side. And that's without going back to the good old days. What the f**k would these people be like if we get relegated again? Still, at least only a few of the regular idiots managed to blame Willian for this one, eh?
  13. Like I said, haven't beaten anyone worth considering.
  14. Not really optimism, @Nibs, just trying to get some proportion and reality injected into what has really turned into a whine-fest. Yes, united have overtaken us for now, but they haven't played anyone decent since Mourinho got the chop. I'm not going to run round saying the sky is falling in because we are 1 point off 4th under those circumstances. We have a lot of people who don't really think these things through. United beat a load of relegation fodder so they're obviously going to challenge for the league now, right? All I say is let's wait and see when they actually play a top half team. It might be that Solskjaer is truly the reincarnation of Ferguson, or it might be that they had a good run against teams they should expect to be beating.
  15. United have played nobody under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with the exception of the Spuds. They were always going to pick up those points, regardless of who was their manager. As someone else said above, they have a few more testing opponents coming up soon. Then we'll see if their improvement is permanent or temporary.
  16. I see the sarcasm gene doesnt run through your fambly, then.
  17. OK, I give up mate. You're right.
  18. If he is indeed rubbish, how did he tear us apart in the European matches, why did we buy him, and why does every manager we've had since play him so often? Is there a simple answer to those?
  19. But we keep on coming back to the fact that Willian has NEVER been a high goal scorer because it's not his job. @coco summed it up rather well above. Creating the transition from defence to attack is one of his strengths (Willian, not @coco), stretching defences and interacting with Hazard, Dave and whatever tailor's dummy we have at number 9 at the time. You and many in here might like him to be a goal machine in the true style of Brazil, but that doesn't appear to be what Mourinho, Conte or Sarri require from him, nor his Brazil international manager. I can't put my case any clearer than that. If you have any rational reason why you think he should suddenly, at age 30, or whatever he is, become a goal scorer when he has not been one throughout his career, then let me know what that is, by all means. And, the Makele comparison is perfectly valid. His job within the team wasn't to score goals, either. That's what we buy strikers for.
  20. They may well have. All I'm saying is he has NEVER been a goal scoring machine that you lot seem to think he should be, so why on earth do you all make such a fuss about it now? I accept that, for a recognised goal scorer his return would be piss-poor. But he wasn't bought because of his huge scoring record, and has never scored many at all, but he has a place in the team of all of his managers despite that. Whining about Willian not scoring 20 a season is the same as whining about Makele's poor goal return or about baby giraffes being piss-poor at ice-skating. It's not their main function.
  21. There you go, clarified what you were trying to say.
  22. Or Cesc actually knows the bloke quite well and isn't just making random guesses from the internet
  23. You're getting a little bit boring now, straining and distorting the views that other people have given to make yourself look wise and witty. And that's coming from ME! make of that what you will.
  24. is this another "Let's put Kante into a position he doesn't have experience of for a match against one of the better pressing sides in the league?"
