Favourite Ever Chelsea Player

Featured Replies

In the wake of the little wizard returning to the Bridge, who is your all time favourite CFC player?

I’d say the best player, judged by his contribution over a long period would be Frank Lampard- when did he ever have a bad game?

My personal choice, the one who gave me the most happiness, would be Gianfranco himself.

Special mention should also go out to Pat Nevin and JT

I don't have a lot of history watching the team, but people ask me why I'm a Chelsea fan. I told them I read this story

https://www.si.com/vault/2010/05/24/105940842/soccer-savior

About an African Player from the Ivory Coast who was so well loved and respected by his countrymen and women that he stood up during a civil war and said "you need to stop fighting"... And they DID!

So I said "I'm rooting for THAT guy"

Obviously that was Didier Drogba. I'm sorry I was a little late to the party in that I really didn't get to see him in his prime, but I'm not sorry I began following his career and Chelsea.

I'm the pitch, N'Golo Kante personifies everything I love about sports, let alone soccer. I point my eight year old in his direction when I speak of the type of player to look up to on and off the field.

1. Zola - Best player to have ever put a blue shirt for us. Hands down.

2. Wise - An absolute terrier on the pitch. His explosive attitude and work he did on the pitch as Captain was impecable.

3. John Terry - Captain, Leader, Legend.

4. Frank Lampard - the definition of a machine for me and one of the best midfielders of all time. His connection with us fans will never be lost.

5. Drogba - Love the legend on the field, but he is an even better man off the field. He characterizes what a real hero really is.

6. Petr Cech - An amazing player for our club and the return he made after the head injury, especially to return to greatness again, for me was an experience I didnt think football would bring out of me. He was a miracle in my Eyes.

7. Eden Hazard - A marvel to look at and proud to say he has been our talisman since arriving to us. Unrivaled dribbling and absolutely unstoppable on his best day.

8. Makelele - I might be a bit biased on this, but I absolutely love the man. What a player he was for us.

9. Cezar Azpilicuetta - Underrated by most, but only a Chelsea fan can understand what a great player and man he is. Deserves to be our CAPITANO.

10. Ashley Cole - The good days when Cole was the only fullback to control Cristiano Ronaldo. He was Imperious in defense and up there with the likes of Paolo Maldini. He, in my opion, is the best defender in our history. Only rivaled by Zola as Chelsea’s best player of all time.

Honorable mentions - Arjen Robben, Ngolo Kante.

Top 2 for me, cant differentiate as the order can change as per my mood!

1) Franco

2) Lamps

Love them both for their dedication, effort, skill, performance, stature, love of chelsea, impact and professionalism.

I would also say that Ruud would be near the top - such a big player, with such elegance.

Subjective list but your choice, best football player to pull on the Chelsea blue imho the incomparable Hazard.

To make it easy I'm going to ignore the post 2000s, Just too many.

Mickey Droy, booted people and loved it.

David Lee,  booted people but did it stylishly.

Super Dan petrescu,  first fancy foreigner that really stood out for me.

Kerry Dixon,  Just scored goals for fun,  it's what he was born to do.

Wee Pat Nevin,  little known fact that he was actually christened Wee Pat Nevin.

Dennis wise, mainly because he scored a f**king great goal...... In the San siro.....

Ruudy, my God watching him constantly have space and time was incredible,  I had never seen someone do that so easily before.  I thought he must smell bad or something.

He learned from one of the best.........Chopper

The innocent look on Chopper Harris' face after he had just left another "victim" in a heap on the floor, was a sight to behold.

Kerry Dixon was my boyhood hero, So he gets a special slot. Then Zola came along and redefined what Chelsea was to me, just pure magic. Now Hazard, the single most talented player to pull on the jersey, and a thoroughly nice bloke too. Can’t really pick between them, just all pure class. I feel bad leaving out JT/Lamps but hey f**k it, they belong in there too! ::ChELSeAFaN::

Was before my time unfortunately, I wish I'd seen him play. Met him a few times though, I once asked him his favourite thing in football when he played, he replied "blood" ha ha...

Kerry Dixon with out a doubt, stick him in our team last season at his pomp, and City would of been the best team ever to be runners up in the league. Power, pace, good in the air and scored for fun.

Special mention for Franco though
