Favourite Ever Chelsea Player

1. Ruud Gullit- Has to be the finest player ever to wear a Chelsea Shirt, had so much time and space, even aged 33/34 and dropped into midfield, he was like a Rolls Royce. Pure Class

2. Gianfranco Zola- A pocket Dynamo, full of tricks and a set piece master.

3. Frank Lampard- Cant really remember him having a poor game, always a threat and he loved playing for us. A managers Dream

4. John Terry- Mr Chelsea, one of the finest defenders ive ever seen, read the game so well and a very underated passer of the ball, Legend

5. Didier Drogba- What a handful and a complete Nightmare for defenders, deadly in the air and very skilful for a big man- Fantastic Striker

Frank Lampard! No doubt. Followed by John Terry, Marcel Desailly and Dennis Wise.

Desailly had an AMAZING mindset though. He never knew how to give up. God I loved him!

Apart from the obvious candidates from the mid 90s to present when I really started watching Chelsea properly I struggle between Jimmy Floyd and Eidur (although both together was a dream).

What a question !

I honestly can't rank them.

Just off the top of my head.

Lamps, Charlie Cooke, Ray Wilkins, Zola, Drogba, Hazard

The whole team from 'a certain season'...

In terms of leadership, resilience and strength, Drogba, Paul Elliott and JT.

In terms of trickery, skill, entertainment, Zola, Nevin, Hazard, Cooke.

In terms of workrate, energy, consistency of performance, Johnny Bumstead, Lampard, Kante.

in terms of sheer quality, Rudd Gullit

For me definitely ZOLA

It was amazing to see his never give up always smiling attitude and turn the match in our favour with a special free kick or seeing him dance around huge arsenal and man utd defenders.

That team including Desailly, and Denis Wise (what a warrior and a legend that guy was) layed the foundation for future chelsea wins and Roman buying our club. I remember Abramovich wanted Zola back when he went to play for Genoa for last years of his career thats the kind of influence he had.

My childhood hero's were Kevin Keegan (in a white shirt) and Kerry Dixon.

Kerry Dixon was the best goal machine this club has had, bar none....only JFH comes close. Drogba wasnt a goal machine, just a huge game player.

Players I hold in great affection

Peter Osgood

Peter Bonetti

Micky Droy

Joey Jones

Pat Nevin

Kerry Dixon

Zola

Dennis Wise

John Terry

Drogba

Peter Cech

Frank Lampard

Joe Cole

Hazard

Kante

My favourite and not arguing he is the best has to be Zola. He brought such joy to our club.

That's true about Drogba, but you will be amazed about how many people have a different view about Drogba.

Drogba scored big goals when we needed them most along with making them for other players and scoring a few stunners too. I’d take that over someone who only banged them in against the smaller teams or a Morata who couldn’t hit a barn door :laugh2:

Who do you think is the better striker between Drogba and Costa?

It depends on the criteria you’re judging them on. Costa was the better out and out goal scorer if that’s what you’re getting at but he also disappeared for half a season every year.
