  1. OK, not going to quote all the responses, but, in my mind, Willian's role is not, and never has been, that of main goal scorer. His skill set is mainly taking on players and creating space and time for the main strikers. I'll accept that his free-kicks are randomly piss-poor and very good, but, apart from several incredibly good goals cutting on from the left, he really isn't there primarily as a goal scorer, regardless of how much you all believe that he is or should be. I don't even consider him a winger, as such, he is an attacking midfielder, and has been used as one consistently by all our managers in his time here. As you are all aware, I have never tried to maintain the he is some sort of world-class super-star, but I do get hacked off with all the standard cut-and-paste Willian-bashing that occurs in here regradless of his actual performance in any given match. He nearly always gets a standing ovation from the actual match-going crowd, both home and away, and I just feel that some people in here are sitting, fingers poised for the slightest little mistake, so they can post their snappy "willian is sh*te" insight. FFS, 1 minute and 8 seconds into a match the other week before the first one was posted. We'd hardly fecking kicked off. Any road up, some of you have your opinions, I have mine, so it's probably best left at that. It was the same for Mikel, by the way, and is getting that way for Alonso, too.
  2. I don't see how people can STILL only judge Willian on goals scored when that is clearly not his main function in the team. But then, what do I know?
  3. When you consider that they have both gone on to beat teams above us in the league, those two defeats don't look so bad in hindsight. Isn't that how it works in football manager?
  4. This is the Madrid that he broke his contract with us to engineer a move back to, where they all idolise him, is that right?
  5. Except for all the millions who KNEW that De Bruyne and Salah REALLY weren't pants when they were with us, obviously. I think it's the same as that old thing about the Sex Pistols and their first gig. There are so many people who now CLAIM to have been there that Wembley Stadium itself wouldn't have been big enough.
  6. Would this be the Diego who has 24 appearances and 4 goals in the league, by any chance?
  7. still a benchwarmer, though, and the claim that an offer was turned down for him has no basis in fact.
  8. Are you going and being all rational and sensible, mate? You KNOW those values are accurate, because the original bloke made them all up himself, so he knows that they are true. AND, he saw it on twatter, as well. AND, all I asked for was any proof at all that ANY of those figures quoted, or even the chance of an offer for those players from those or any other club was made, and it's been silent in that front ever since, excepyt some muppet jumped in and said it all must be true because he read it somewhere.
  9. Prick - and sarcasm needs to be done well or not at all. Your's was not done well.
  10. AND both clubs, and the player denied that any such thing had happened.
  11. Did you actually READ that before you clicked on "Submit Reply"?
  12. But none of them are true. You just made up players, teams and number combinations to have another sad dig at the club. Show me the proof that ANY of those offers were actually made.
  13. I'd do it for a season for that sort of pay-off
  14. Seems none of our managers agree with you, though.
  15. I know. Why we keep Dave I really don't know. Hasn't scored for years.
  16. Number 133
  17. aaah, the hairdressers' special. Do you drive an MX5, by any chance?
  18. It matters a lot when he goes. Whether he tells you personally beforehand or not is totally irrelevant, either as a favour to you or not.
  19. I see you took my advice to have a few more egg-nogs, then
  20. Why? What does it matter to you, other than it would give you a chance to turn on him (some more) if he said he was off at the end of the season?
  21. What the club actually thought about Willian. "Willian recorded a game-high three key passes, with Eden Hazard and Mateo Kovacic each making two. Hazard was successful with five dribbles, two more than the next player who was Willian. We had 10 attempts of which four were on target. Hazard and Willian had three each Willian impressed not just offensively but also when the team needed him to defend, and his four successful tackles was the most of any Chelsea player. N’Golo Kante won three." But that doesn't match some people's agendas, or they think they know more than the professionals running the club, or they don't like his hair, or something. Still, we can keep on about "end-product" and "doesn't score enough" as justifications for having a moan, can't we, even though Willian's main role in the team is not goal-scorer, and never has been.
  22. Number 201 - B-side of Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
  23. True, but the twatter bit posted was just embarrassing and silly
  24. Not gonna happen. Pour yourself another egg-nog.
  25. So you're all getting frantic over some random twatter post by a know-nothing idiot? Did any of you actually read ANY of the rest of his/her ramblings? The person is a complete knob. Just ignore it and get back to the cold turkey sandwiches
