  1. But clearly they aren't, otherwise no footballers or club people would be being diagnosed and City and Newcastle (amongst other clubs) would not have had to cancel matches because they had players diagnosed. Come to that, if the teams were bubbled up, Havertz and CHO wouldn't have had the virus, either.
  2. The weird logic is that you can claim, seemingly with a fervent self-belief, that a striker missing open goals is both acceptable and the fault of his manager playing him in a position that he has played in many, many times before, and in which, from your own graphics, he has both scored and assisted. See, I think that the issue might be your obsession with apportioning or not apportioning blame. No-one at all is is doing that. All most of us appear to be saying is that he has missed a shed-load of very good goal-scoring chances, including in front of an open goal and several that I would have scored. For that reason alone, he has not justified replacing Abraham or Giroud as our main striker, . He is not actually playing in a brand new position according to all of the reports that you and others have provided in here.
  3. I like Werner a lot and I think he will come good, but you have a weird idea of logic and common sense. I really DO expect a striker to put away at least SOME of the very simple chances that he has missed, and the nominal position he is playing is totally irrelevant to that. Some of the chances he has missed were very much easier to score than to miss and at least 1 that I recall was putting the ball over the bar in front of an empty net. We take the piss out of Sterling when he does that regularly, and I see no difference with Werner End of. (Obviously unless you have a raft of google stats and pictures that prove missing an open goal is a natural response for any footballer.)
  4. See, when I said that I got a tsunami of google-stats, very selective videos and pictures of cakes.
  5. That's all fair comment, mate. I don't remember praising a corner, but then I could have been drunk or on a wind-up at the time, who knows? Let's hope Havertz comes good (and soon).
  6. I think you are misrepresenting my posts on Willian, and especially his corner taking. I doubt that even the young lad who googles the buggery out of Havertz every day could find a post of mine defending Willian's corner taking. My view on Willian was always that he had a role in the team that didn't actually suit the role that some people thought he should be performing, and that, consequently, they slated him for every missed pass or over-run dribble. FFS, we even had some tit in here celebrating in the match-day thread because Willian got injured. Just consider that for a minute. a so-called Chelsea "fan" coming onto an internet forum during the match JUST to post a big cheer because one of our own players got injured and had to go off the pitch. I'll get my stats-stalker onto it if you like, but Willian's stats for us were consistent with his stats throughout his entire career. That didn't satisfy some people who decided that his only role was as a goal-scorer and he was failing in that duty, the same people by the way who still derided him when he did have a decent season, or was voted player of the season and players' player of the season. I support Havertz, I just don't think he should be anywhere near the first team at the moment - he needs to get his head right at the very least. Oh, I didn't start the sick leave thing. Some tit said that the reason he has been so incredibly underwhelming this season is that he had Covid. My opinion was and is that if he hasn't recovered he shouldn't be playing, and he could have called in sick until he had. The amount of time is neither here nor there. If the Chelsea doctors say he is fit and fine, that's great, but then googling teenagers can't use "he hasn't fully recovered from Covid" as an excuse for not being able to play football any better than I would.
  7. hmmmmm. A professional footballer isn't responsible for his own health and fitness for work, eh? OK, mate. I knew there was a reason I had you on ignore, I'd just forgotten what it was. Now I remember.
  8. Don't be so silly. If I'm not fit enough to go to work, I phone my boss and let her know, We actually have a sickness reporting procedure formalised in our employment handbook. Same thing applies here. I don't know how fit or unfit Havertz is, but when we have people in here claiming that he is unable to pass to a team-mate in the open 5 yards away, make a simple tackle or generally look like a professional footballer because he is still not recovered from Covid, then he needs to phone in sick for a while. If he's playing like I would because of other reasons, then fair enough, but that isn't the excuse being bandied around by his "number one fan" and chief statistician.
  9. Alright, I'm not going to carry this on anymore, as you obviously have great googling skills but very little in the way of comprehension or understanding of simple concepts. I have no knowledge of or interest in what Havertz did in the Bundesliga, I only care about what he does in Chelsea Blue, and that, so far, has mostly to play badly. If it was just me noticing this, I would concede that I might possibly be wrong, but I don't think that you can find anyone else who claims that he is currently "one of the best players in the squad" based on performances. So, don't bother replying, and especially don't google any more compilation videos, modern art pictures or incredibly witty gifs like the one above.
  10. Oh, and if you are justifying a professional sportsman not being able to competently perform his duties because he hasn't yet recovered from a debilitating illness, then you are making my point for me that he should not be in the team until he has recovered fully. And it's irrelevant that Lampard keeps on picking him, if he isn't recovered he should withdraw until he can complete a pass and make a tackle.
  11. Firstly, I'm relatively confident that he isn't reading this forum, and, even if he is, he is as aware as we all are that he has mostly been a bit naff so far, and has on occasions directly cost us goals against. Keep him out of the starting lineup until the FA Cup and let him get his head right. I have said all along that he may well be the next {enter name of whoever you consider best ever player} but so far, in a Chelsea shirt he has shown nothing at all to warrant a place in the team. We can't afford to wait several months for him to be able to play a simple 5-yard pass to a team mate consistently. I did mate, I have downloaded it all and am working through it forensically so that I can enhance my Havertz education enough to enable me to join the cult of blind adoration. (Not sure about some of the graphics, though, that look like some sort of primary school art project with crayons and glitter)
  12. don't be such a prick.
  13. Isn't that exactly the sort of thing that was being said about SWP or Kezman back in the day though? Come to think of it, Morata was getting some of that sort of backing early on, and, after a flashyish start, we were all waiting for Oscar to come good as he was touted as "the next new shiny thing"
  14. He has to get over his tendency to miss completely open goals then. I've lost count of the number of matches this season when it would have been easier for him to score than to miss, but miss he did. He was getting into good positions a lot early on, but managing to scoop the ball over the bar or mis-kick completely. Another confidence thing, or is Malouda putting him off at the crucial time?
  15. Somebody voted for Havertz. On an unrelated note, how do blind people find and pick up the sh*t their guide dog does in the park?
  16. This sounds dangerously like "Torres is pants because Malouda won't pass to him."
  17. Not yet but you and I both know it's only a matter of time - I don't know what time school lets out in whatever country the lad comes from , but give it 30 minutes after that for some detailed googling and we'll be sorted ?
  18. You're coming across as a bit of a tit, though.
  19. Nothing wrong with a schooner of Amontillado and some nice frocks on Strictly, @Nibs I don't mind weekday evening matches, but league matches should be 3pm on a Saturday. Maybe, just maybe, one match on a Sunday afternoon, and that's all.
  20. Because he is "one of the best players in the squad" I know this because someone googled some pictures from the internet that proved it.
  21. Yep, tucked in with cocoa and a packet of Werthers. Up every 2 hours for a piss, whether I need one or not.
  22. I only ever watch Chelsea games, but Saturday night at 8 is just taking the piss
  23. I did much the same, mate. I don't approve of football at 8pm on Saturday night, anyway, or any of these weird odd times of matches. It's bad enough having loads of matches on a Sunday and Monday nights can get to f**k Purely to boost Sky/BT viewing figures, nothing to do with the fans..
