Other's clubs got there targets proven or not. That's the risk in football. Chelsea brought someone who has proven in the past his a liability, least they knew beforehand.

Luiz is risky and he has premier league experience lol. The man who has to play midfield because his to much of a risk in defence.

Arsenal - Mustafi, Utd - Bailly, City - Stones. Liverpool signed other players. As a stop gap for a year Williams is a much better defender than Luiz.

The very top? The French league is won by Xmas, it's nearly as bad as the Scottish league. In the premier league defenders are no judged on passing stats. For me Luiz is going to make the defence weaker and make defenders like Terry looking over there shoulder half the game.

There's players out there if they looked. Fonte would be a good stop gap. Cheaper and better than Luiz.

I'm saying you don't need to spend 35-40m on someone to improve the squad. There's plenty of cheaper players for that.

At least Koulibaly has the potential. If he was Contes main target then why not pay the money, if it's an extra 10m over Luiz then pay it. Or buy a stop gap for a year and go after him again next summer if Chelsea want him that bad. Chelsea have gone out and brought someone else who isn't good enough to get in the first team but will have to play and they won't be able to get rid of now. Also brought him back for big money. For me it feels like Chelsea have put all there hope into Luiz for the next few seasons.

Luiz is not world class

He weakens the first team defence in my opinion. Any defender will improve the defence by virtue of being a defender

Everyone seems to love his personality, commitment and passion. What about his defending?

He has passion but can't defend GREAT. We all have passion here. He obviously wouldn't be starting for PSG leaving hence while there willing to sell. how can you tell Luiz has improved, just from the champions league? He has been playing in a very low quality league.

PSG literally can't believe there luck. Only Chelsea would weaken there defence with 35m+. I'm not having his better defensively than Terry, Cahill and Zouma.

Reasonable price, your joking right? Reasonably reliable, he will be the least consistent CB at Chelsea, you never know what your going to get. For some fans that seems like a fun thing. Chelsea have enough CBs, if they was going to sign one it had to be one to improve the defence, not make it weaker. If they wanted more cover buy someone for cheaper, better and more reliable as a stop gap till you can get one of your main targets. Chelsea need a forward anyway. Going into a season with only 2. God help Zouma and Christensen playing next to Luiz.

True, Chelsea only have 2 forwards and Costa will be banned at some point

I see Luiz played well at the weekend. That game sums up Luiz in a nutshell. Reports I have read Luiz wouldn't be in the team once Silva and Marquinhos return. Chelsea must be mad if it's true. A couple of years ago we was laughing at PSG, if they get anything near there money back they will be having the last laugh.

Pogba was quoted around the same price last year. Luiz still wouldn't be sold for anywhere near 15m so that doesn't make sense. PSG thought he was worth 50m at one point so want as much of that money back as possible. Liverpool brought Benteke one season ago. They wanted there money back. His still young. I don't think prices have been that bad. Stones 50m but Chelsea had to pay that last year to get him. Any deals done in the last week are always inflated as they know clubs are desperate.

So you think PSG would sell Luiz for 15m after buying him for 50m?

For me his not better than a Cahill and Terry partnership. Or Terry and Zouma. I trust them 3 as CBs much more than Luis, even Ivanovic. So as a defender I don't think his better than we have got. I would rather Chelsea put 30m towards a CB who would improve the first team. Wait your time, just because you have left it late in the window doesn't mean you have to splash the cash on anyone. Its like the LB situation, Chelsea have spent over 50m on LBs which could of all been spent on one word class LB.

Every player is available, it's just they have a price. Like Stones and Chelsea wasn't willing to pay that. If Chelsea really want someone you have to pay the money. Not that I blame Chelsea but maybe the Napoli player was there main target. To put all your hopes on one CB all summer, then from last week start bidding on other players then on deadline day bid for Luiz is desperation. I would rather Chelsea buy someone to cover for a season than waste 30m on Luiz who won't improve the first team.

Does Luiz improve the first team, no way. Does he improve the squad, yes. But is it worth paying 30m to improve the squad?
