Fabregas hasn't started in the premiership yet. That tells me Fabregas isn't in Contes starting 11. How long will he put up with that? January, next summer most. Depends who bids for him. Looking at Mata now is not the answer. It was the example of when he and Mourinho was at Chelsea. Same with KDB. Same with Hart and Pep. Lots of examples. Mata won't stay in the starting 11 when all things settle down at Utd and the signings have settled in.

Wow shows how different people see Fabregas as a player. He is simply one of the most creative and best passers in the premiership. When teams sit back you would rather player Fabregas for his passing and to pick the holes. You see City dropping Silva, Arsenal Ozil or Carzola. No way. Who would I rather have on the pitch to break down a team, Oscar, Willian or Fabregas. Sorry but that's an easy answer. Fabregas won't stay for long being used in the league cup and here and there in the prem. He is too good for that.

How do you work that one out? Like Mata with Mourinho when they was both at Chelsea.

Conte is keeping Fab out because he isn't his sort of player. Every manager has there favourites.

If Fabregas was a Conte type player he would of started one of the PL games yet and not just the league Cup. You can easily fit Fabregas into a team which has Kante, Matic and Willian. If he don't want him fair enough but Chelsea will badly miss his creativity.

Well I have never seen teams save there best players for the bigger games. Maybe with 3 games in a week. If Fabregas isn't playing against Burnely at home he won't be playing against City or Utd.

Think your looking too much into it. Fabregas can easily play with Matic and Kante in the team. Chelsea won the league with Fabregas and Matic in the midfield. Fabregas isn't a Conte type player, that's all. I wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea are open to offers before the window is out. Mourinho didn't like KDB. Pep with Hart.

Argo is that you? I have only seen posts not wanting to waste silly money on a defender. People are worried about the lack of signing a defender activity when there is all summer and leaving it to the last week. Also letting players go before replacements are even close to coming in. No one wants money wasted on signings. So get your facts right. How have you seen bids being made? Are you making the bids?

Didn't you know Chelsea was after Bonucci all summer even though he apparently said no while on international duty. Then Rudiger was a done deal but he got injured before the euros. So as you can see he has had a busy couple of months ;)

Babayaro as your reserve LB/LW and Ferrer was a very good right back. Could even throw in names like Huth and Melchiot.

I don't believe Chelsea are any better defensively., I don't have any confidence Chelsea will keep a clean sheet. Two out of 3 games at home. West Ham was awful and missed there main man and still scored. Rovers pen was like watching a Sunday league defence with how easy they got through.

The Batshuayi signing was pushed through due to palace having a bid accepted first. West Ham bidded before that and I thought Spurs was interested. I know business was done early in that sense but maybe other clubs pushed it through quicker. I wouldn't be surprised if the same happened with Kante as he was linked with nearly every club. Don't care anyway as he will be a great signing for many years. Unless he does a Matic :(

Proven premier league quality generally makes a difference but comparing Torres to Aguero when they was signed in different Windows is pointless.Who's this best CB on the market Chelsea have been chasing? Great post, we have a great LB at the club but he is an even better RB, it's crazy. I have been banging on about the same thing for a while. I would rather Chelsea save there money from a desperation bid like City have with Mangela and Otamendi for an unproven premier league player. Williams was 12m or Fonte at Southampton, might be 32 but premier league experience and just won the euros. Good short term options plus Zouma come back. I would even throw the money and get Bertrand back.

Nah didnt conviently ignore Rudiger, it was just another rumour and never heard or saw anything that made me believe that deal was as good as done. But the injury which put that rumour to be bed was before the Euros, so what happened between there and now? You say the club have been working on a CB all summer but there's a big gap from Bonucci telling Conte no on international call up to now. All I hear is desperate bids from Chelsea to try and sign CBs at the end of the window. I'm sorry but it's bad business and now they will have to pay well over the odds to get anyone.

Chelsea are getting like Arsenal which is embarrassing. Every club in the world knows Chelsea badly need defenders so will obviously bump up the price, even more so now it's the end of the window. If you can't get the signings which are better than the current players which by the way there are plenty of CBs better than Cahill and better LBs than Ivan to move Dave to RB. I wouldn't just throw money at any signing now in a desperate attempt, I would look at maybe players like Fonte just to improve the squad for the season. Go back next season for better players. 40m for defenders from Europe who could completely flop in the prem, too desperate and too much of a risk. Williams only cost 12m

Ivan should not be in the first team at RB or CB. Squad player in his last season yes. First team no way specially when Zouma returns.
