  1. Yep! Tomori was also looking really good up until the last 15 mins in the game at Lille when he made that careless pass and he hasn't been the same either. All in the head. Some sportsmen/women are mentally strong enough to shrug off bad mistakes while others dwell on them and let it affect their perfrmances.
  2. If you remember Kalas only played that game because of injury problems. It was a great performance so it was odd that he never got another chance. But, he never went on to shine at other.clubs so it was pretty much just a one off performance well above his usual level. I'm more interested to know why it went wrong for someone like Michael Duberry, who looked awesome in a string of games when he got his chance, then faded and never looked that good again.
  3. Liverpool have gone off the boil and have nothing to play for now. But they won't want to end their great season on a downer, so I expect them to be fired up for the game against us.
  4. I thought/hoped this tedious passing between the back four would stop under Frank but its as bad as it was under Sarri. I want us to get back to the style we had when we won the league with Alonso and Moses bombing forward and playing such important roles that season.
  5. Our defence gives me the willies when they're being pressed. Even late on in last nights game James got away with playing a very risky ball back to Kepa when it would have been much safer and easier to just lump it down the wing area.

I've never had any problem seeing what Modric brings to a team. For me, Kova is like Carrick at Utd, who was another player some fans loved but others thought was a bit meh.
  7. Do we go there and try and do a Jose special on them or go out and have a go? I cannot see our defence holding out for 90 mins so imo we should have a go at them, but I don't mean with gung ho football.

No one doutbs his dribbling and technical ability on the ball. But the same old problem of no end product is still there. Dribbling past 3 players in the middle of the pitch might look pretty but it doesn't hurt the oppositon.
  9. Very nervy performance last night, as it too often has been at home to teams they know they should beat with ease. Liverpool away is a game we'll be expected to lose and with our defense and their attack, maybe lose quite easily too. That should actually take a lot of pressure off our lads and help them relax enough to just go out and give their best.
  10. Have to embarrassingly admit thatI i thought Azpi was about 32/33 years old. 30 is not old by any stretch, so I was wrong to say we need younger legs.

I've never been a fan of him and he still leaves me underwhelmed. Lots of huff and puff but at the end of a game I always find it hard to remember anything from him that stood out. He's one of those players opponents are happy to let him have the ball because they know he he won't do much with it. Not a bad player, just a consistently bang average one.
  12. You can get away with a Kova type player if you have the devastating front three of Liverpool.
  13. Yes, it was an alarmingly casual moment. At that point in the game I'd rather see him.just hoof it than play that kind of ball.
  14. Still think Kova is overrated and not more than a decent squad player for a top 4 team. Energy, but still way too many runs and passes sideways and so little threat to the opposition. Just got to get someone in that posistion who can hurt teams.
  15. A lot of our players look mentally and physically tired. Nobody really had more than a 6 or 7/10 game. Willian at his annoying worst. Loftus looking lost and completely off the pace. Best to just let him train with the lads for the next couple of weeks and start fresh in the pre season. Positives - Crucial 3 points. Defense had an easy night and no comedy errors. James and CHO looked enthusiastic when they came on.
  16. Any kind of win was all that really mattered! But that was about as much fun as watching Steve 'interesting' Davis practice his white ball control.
  17. Oh for the days when you could safely bet your house on us comfortably seeing this kind of game out.
  18. Our wonderful defenders almost caught dozing again.
  19. To be fair it must feel a bit strange playing competitive matches with no fans in the stadiums.
  20. No goal from a corner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Been utter shire lately but to be fair that was a top tackle by Rudi a few mins ago.
  22. If there were 40,000 watching this in the stadium the atmospehre would be like it is tonight.
  23. Rudi doing his worst Glen Hoddle impression.
  24. Its just that he runs like he's towing a truck.l
  25. Well I'm watching it right now on Pick on channel 11.
