I actually thought that was among the best we've seen from him. Good passing, really strong physical presence and dangerous bursts forward with the ball. Hope he gets a few more games in that position to see if this was a one-off or not!

If that's the alternative, I'd rather give Ampadu a go. Last season wasn't good, but he played in a malfunctioning team and at least got quite a bit of experience

I really wish he'd get a loan and the opportunity to play 90 minutes every week. I doubt another season on our bench is beneficiary to anyone and I dont see him forcing into the starting 11 if we continue with 3-4-3 or 3-5-2. As far as I can tell we are well covered without him, so a loan would be win-win in my book

Yep, we absolutely do need a top central defender and a top striker. But in my opinion we play with the added security of a third central defender because we are too easily caught out of position in midfield - which overall means we have one less goal threat in the team. Kova is a good player, and I actually think we'd see the best of him if Kante was sold/injured since I think he'd do the same kind of role very well. But Kante is the best player in the team and has to play, and alongside him he lacks both the defensive and attacking output for the team to be as effective as we need to be

Completely agree with this. More than a striker or centre back, I feel what we need this summer is a true, top quality defensive midfielder like Rice. Kante is at his best roaming the pitch with a balancing midfielder behind him - IMO neither Jorgi or Kova does this job well enough

TT has lost it. Azpi wingback and Reece centre back is just bizarre. Jorginho, Pulisic and Werner has been dreadful for a long time but continues to get picked - somehow. Oh well, lets just win the CL-finale then

Agreed, I truly believe it would do him a world of good to play week in, week out for a season. The tricky part is finding the right club, at a high enough level and where he's more or less guaranteed to play.
