  1. Sterling assisted Reece James goal against Spurs.... But you have to look at the players he's playing alongside. The only chances he's getting are those he creates off the dribble. Mount is off form and none if Havertz, Ziyech, Pulisic or our midfielders are going to supply him with chances or finish the ones he creates. Sterling will know himself he's playing with a much much less talented set of players than what he's used to.
  2. City and Liverpool also have much more talented attacking players than we do. Guardiola has literally never coached an attacking player as bad as Pulisic or Ziyech in his entire career. The managers job is to get the most out of the talent he has, I'd argue Tuchel has done that with our results but the talent actually has to be there to challenge for the title and I don't think it is.
  3. Upon reflection I've now decided I'd happily take Maguire in a straight swap for Pulisic as rumoured. I wouldn't pay any money for Maguire but he's far better in his position than Pulisic is in his. There's at least some way to actually use Maguire even if it's bringing him on just for a late corner.
  4. Given we have a single attacking player signed by Tuchel in our squad and he looks head and shoulders above the rest of our attackers I think we could risk making another one. The 2 Centre back options simply replace the 2 players Marina lost on frees due to her incompetence, Cucurella being an upgrade at LWB is a bonus but it isn't like we've handed him a much stronger squad. We didn't offer £60m for Raphina and play attacking midfielders on the wings because our squad is just full of quality wingers.
  5. There are no similarities. Because Klopp inherited a team with a weak defence and was backed to sign an absolute top centre back and a top goal keeper. Tuchel inherited a team with a poor attack and 18 months later he's still stuck bringing Pulisic and Ziyech on. The one attacking signing we've made looks head and shoulders above the rest of our attackers but it isn't enough.
  6. Thats because Sterling actually knows how to play football and has a shred of technical ability.
  7. The alternatives are dross like Pulisic and Ziyech. Kai isn't in the team because he's been good he's been shocking. If we'd signed another player like Raphina, Dembele or Auba like we want to he'll be out the team in a heartbeat.
  8. He's not that good. I'd take Oscar above most our attackers.
  9. This was a hard watch. I didn't like a lot of things from Tuchel today. But what is he supposed to do when his goal keeper is technically the worst footballer to ever play in the league? The alternative is the keeper who was the worst keeper to ever play in the league when it came to actually saving shots. 2 of his 3 premier league quality centre mids are chronic sick notes. He's stuck with attacking mids on the wings because his wingers are terrible. And when we need to change a game he has to bring on these terrible wingers who average less than 4 goals a season outside of the Dutch league and hope they can change the game. People were calling for subs but who on our bench could change a game?
  10. I'm not blaming them for the attackers being terrible? It's precisely Mendy's fault he thinks he's Neymar when he's technically the worst player in the league with the ball at his feet. There's no explaining why Koulibaly got himself sent off unless he's that tired of our attackers he decided he didn't want to play with them next week.
  11. There was nothing racist about that at all..... Everyone's been poor. But both Mendy and Koulibaly have made absolutely brain dead decisions that go beyond tactics or poor technique. Hard to legislate for what either of them did.
  12. What's in the water in Senegal? Absolutely brain dead decisions from both our Senegalese today. No need in that Red card, the games already gone.
  13. If it means we don't have to see Havertz, Pulisic or Ziyech again €30m is a steal.
  14. There's certain subs that come on that must strike fear into tired defenders. Defenders get the deck chairs out when Pulisic and Ziyech come on. We've been terrible all game but how can have spent so much on this squad and have no attacking quality or goal scorers on the bench? No way to change a game. And we haven't since Giroud left.
  15. We wish. Timo is a level above these clowns.
  16. The fact we need a goal and we bring on Pulisic and Ziyech says everything about the state of their squad. Mr 4 goals a season and a guy that has scored 6 career league goals outside the Dutch league No chance of 4th without new attacking signings.
  17. Werner was levels above Havertz, Pulisic and Ziyech. But people would rather clown the guy who doesn't stop running and has the pace and movement to get chances. So now we have a set of attackers that can't run and can't create a chance between them to save their lives. But at least they don't miss so it's all good.
  18. We have no decent wingers. The fact our wingers are so bad is why we've ended up with attacking midfielders on the wings.
  19. I could understand it if we had another top right back. But playing the best wingback in the world out of position to play a dud like Loftus Cheek at Wingback is a really strange decision. In specific games I understand it if you want James to deal with a forward but as a regular thing it's just odd.
  20. Palace have 3 wingers that would start for us.
  21. Refusing to shoot when 1 vs 1 against the keeper 7 yards away isn't attacking input. He was running as well, I genuinely don't know how to didn't just strike the ball
  22. Nowhere near good enough. Never had been. He benefited from the Sarri effect Kepa benefited from where a goal keeper with a lot of clean sheets got praised because of the defence in front of him but statistically he wasn't performing well. He's not a good shot stopper, has one of the lowest save percentages in the league and is the worst player in premier league history with the ball at his feet. The only thing he's ever done well is claim crosses which obviously got him a lot of praise after Kepa but now he's not as confident coming out as he was when we signed him. Never going to challenge for the title with Mendy in goal he's a million miles away from the top keepers.
  23. There's no debate. Neither are good enough.
  24. Mendy has to go. Never good enough for the highest level in a million years. He's a liability everytime the ball gets passed back to him. I was worried when he tried that successfully 20 minutes ago. Mendy is not the player that should be attempting sh*t like that. Pep would start an outfield player in goal over Mendy.
