Havertz isn't a 10. The man can't create a chance to save his life.

No idea. He's much closer to an untalented workhorse. Felt he played well today. But even on his good days it's his aggression and workrate that stand out rather than any sublime quality with the ball.

We should have refused to play today. We simply shouldn't be playing games with Anthony Taylor in charge in 2022 He's clearly not fit to referee our games.

Fantastic intensity in the 1st half. We haven't been too creative but we've dominated Spurs all half. Really interesting to see the defensive set up shift between a back 4 or the standard back 3 so fluidly as Reece has been perfoming a really intense man marking job on Son. Followed him everywhere. But sad to see Jorginho once again dominated by a Spurs side that haven't managed to score against him 5 out of the last 6 times he played them but the oracles here did predict it would happen.

On here Tuchel gets accused on making attacking players who have had the best stats of their careers under him look bad.

I thought RLC was poor at the Bernabeau. One of the few that didn't shine for us that night. I'd argue he was partially at fault for getting them back in the Tie.

That doesn't explain why he was so bad before Tuchel. Pulisic has actually had the 2 of the best seasons of his career since Tuchel took over. He's been the worst attacking player at the club since the day he signed. In his 1st season we went with a front 3 of Puli - Tammy and Willian for much of the season with the latter 2 looking levels above him all season and outperforming his even considering his once in a career purple patch. And his lack of talent is the reason it wasn't a good decision to sell Timo. Timo hasn't worked for us and I think we can all see he isn't suited for us but he's drastically outperformed Pulisic in both seasons he's been here. Timo averaged more goals a season for us than Pulisics highest goal scoring season in his career. There's just a massive gulf between them. And because the replacements are so bad we've indisputably weakened the squad by selling Timo and we're now in a position where we're desperate for Aubameyang and imo at least 1 other forward to come in after the season has started. 90% of our problems stem from a lack of talent in attacking areas, the player that has been poor for all 7 seasons of his career going into an 8th season here exemplifies that.

Most predictable team we could have picked. But also the right one. I think the only question mark anyone could have is RLC but that's clearly a selection based on wanting James at CB and not having Son run in behind a 100 year old back 3.

Harry Kane isn't technically gifted? He literally spends half the game on the half way line creating for Son and Kuleveski and can recieve the ball in the box surrounded by defenders and still get his shot off, it's why he massively outperforms his XG each and every season, because he's so technically gifted. He's the complete striker. Being technically gifted doesn't mean you have to be some tricky silker winger. Kane is incredibly technically gifted. Rashford isn't which is why he failed as a striker so badly he got moved out to the wing. He didn't have the technique to recieve the ball with his back to goal and turn and he didn't have the intelligence to make the right runs in behind the defenders.

Boehly should have got rid of Marina on day 1 given how terrible she was at her job. But it's a concern how he didn't have a negotiating team to bring in immediately, you'd have hoped he'd at least spoken to possible candidates who would be able to come in and handle our transfer window during the bidding process. Boehly deciding to lone wolf it and do everything himself was a big shock and while he's primarily been focused on bringing people in I think he's likely been shocked himself on how little interest there is in our deadwood. Seems like he was still operating under the framework of American sports were you can just package a player you don't want as part of a trade deal and ship them off.

Might be the only winger on the planet I rate less than our current bunch. Rashford is a terrible footballer. Didn't rate him when people were pretending he was a special talent. Don't rate him now. He's a less technically gifted and less intelligent Werner, can't dribble, can't shoot, can't play in tight spaces, can't pass, has terrible movement and is one of the laziest players in the country. Unless we play exclusively on the counter Rashford would be utterly useless for us.

Well most players score more goals in weaker leagues. Everyone but our American flop anyway. But it's quite telling there's no interest in either Pulisic or Ziyech from any league. We've apparently offered Pulisic to 2 Serie A clubs this season who turned him down. Milan aren't keen on paying 8m for Ziyech. No one is keen on paying our 8m asking price apparently. It's a sad state of affairs when we're moving on players like Werner before much less talented and capable options because he was the only one any club is actually interested in.

Comparing Fofana to one of the worst signings of all time doesn't exactly instill confidence.

And we should still turn him down. If there's one thing this game has shown it's the difference between a front line that can press aggressively and one that can't.

The last thing we want is to sign another player that will down tools because he doesn't like the manager.

I don't see an £80m centre back on the pitch today.

Tbf both Werner and Jesus are far better than our current dross so there's a good chance. Wouldn't surprise me to see them both hit over 20 this season. I wouldn't put money on our forwards aside from Mount and Sterling scoring 10 league goals between then all season. We missed out on Jesus. He was the absolute perfect fit for us. Edit - Jesus has now scored as many league goals this season as Ziyech did in his 1st season with us and is also halfway to Pulisics average league goals per season across his entire career.

I'd be happy to bet £100 with anyone on here than Werner scores at least 3x as many league goals this season than Pulisic or Ziyech. Out of all the dross we had up front Werner was clearly the most talented and the one who you could easily see performing again in a different team or a different league that suits his limited but specialist skillset.

You've mentioned 4 pieces of deadwood there.

That's not true though is it. Willian was our player of the season when Hazard ghosted the whole year under Jose. Willian was also the players player of the season in 2 separate seasons (15/16 and 17/18) In Franks 1st season there was no Hazard and Willian was comfortably our best winger all season, far better than Pulisic who despite his once in a career purple patch still couldn't match Willians output over the season (output being the weakest part of Willians game) Obviously they're old now but there is a massive massive talent gap between talent like Willian/Pedro and Bums like Pulisic and Ziyech. I actually think Willians reputation suffered due to playing with Hazard who was simply on another level but there's a reason the 15 million different managers all consistently started Willian alongside Hazard while Pulisic and Ziyech are nailed to the bench while we start central players like Mount and Havertz out of position on the wings over them.

Wouldn't say Chilwell was a good buy myself. We paid a massive fee for a player that isn't top tier and so far he's had an inconsistent season and a bad injury that derailed his 2nd one. The Jury is certainly still out on Ben and I worry for him if Fofana signs as I'd expect Cucurella to start most games at Wingback then.

In what way is the Jury still out on Pulisic? If anyone hasn't reached the obvious conclusion by now I worry for them. Looking at that list Werner and Havertz were the only 2 player I had high expectations for prior to signing for us. I felt the rest had already proved themselves not good enough prior to signing for us or were past their prime in Nando's case.
