That's an abysmal way to select a team. Horses for courses. Ruben filling in well for Reece in one game we needed him at CB does not mean he has to start the next game. Our best player should be playing in his best position almost every game. If there's 1 or 2 games a season we want him at CB to combat specific threats fair enough but he shouldn't be moved just for the sake of fitting RLC in and hoping Ruben has 2 of his 4 good games a season back to back.

Surely it's Kepa. Papy was only 2m. I take great solace in knowing we'll never make a signing as bad as Kepa again. A world record fee on a Keeper than had a tiny release clause that no one wanted to pay a few months prior. I'd actually go as far to say it's physically impossible for an outfield signing to be as bad as Kepa because they'll find themselves, benched, rotated or the team will just cover their weaknesses. Signing the worst keeper in the league for a record fee and have him single handedly lose us games each week but the replacement being a 38 year old Journeyman so he keeps getting minutes will never be topped. Makes Gordon look like a bargain.

50m + Pulisic and Ziyech in a buy 1 get 1 free deal. Make it happen. I watched a lot of Milan in the run in and felt Leao was their best player. There was one or two games he had the fullback beat so badly the whole game plan was to give him the ball and let him create something out of nothing.

It's a process. Obviously De Jong would slot right in but I think it's far more likely Jorginho sees out his final year here before we look to bring in a holding midfielder. Which is another reason we simply had to move Kante on. Having 2 of our starting midfielders with 1 year left on this contracts is terrible squad planning. It's like we've learned nothing from Rudiger and Christensen this summer.

I won't argue. But we're not 1 or 2 players away from challenging we're miles away. There's a lot of issues in the squad. Incredibly amateurish decision not to move Kante on this summer and sign a top midfielder. Still great on his day but the wrong side of 30, 1 year left of his big big money contract and far too injury prone to rely on. But I stand by the biggest thing we can do to improve the squad is to sign some top quality wingers. That allows us to move Mount back to his actual position instead of trying to pretend he's a wide player. Our creativity suffers massively when we end up with Havertz and Mount on the wings and no real pacey wide player to stretch defences. Leao - Auba - Sterling Mount - Jorginho - Kovacic Cucurella - Koulibaly - Fofana - Reece (Both our keepers suck) Seems like a realistic team for us at the end of the window if Leao signs and it seems creative enough for me.

Leao Is a really exciting rumour. We clearly targeted Raphina and Dembele early as priorities so it's been really frustrating how after failing to get either there's been so few links with elite attacking talent. I don't understand how it's take 3 games for Tuchel and Boehly to see most of these attackers just will never perform to the level required.

There's absolutely no chance we could get Toney for another 10m. Brentford would want 70m+ for their clear best player right at the end of the window. They can't replace him and have absolutely no reason to sell.

Love the man but it's Looking even more like a horrendous decision to keep Apzi and give him a pay rise. His legs have gone the point Tuchel will play Reece at RCB against any decent or pacey opposition and stick RLC at Wingback and that's before we sign another CB. There's really no reason to be loaning out or marginalising Chalobah when he could easily be filling Azpi's current role in the squad.

Auba has to go straight in if he signs with Kai dropping to the bench Otherwise the same front 3 as the previous games as there is literally no one else. Hoping for either a strong performance from Fofana or a disasterclass if he plays. Not sure which yet.

You son sounds like he'd have made a model pro. It's just basic professionalism you'd expect from every player and their families. Don't publically criticise team mates and staff at the club it's embarrassing. More so for Christian than anyone, he has to face his team mates and his coaches on the training pitch and his Dad hasn't helped him here. You've got to admire the deludedness of the man though endorsing tweets saying Drop Havertz and Mount and Pulisic will guarantee great football and goals like his son doesn't have 44 goals and 25 assists in 245 club games 🤣

You say it like we're forcing him to stay here. Believe me pretty much everyone connected with Chelsea from the coaches to most the fans to even his team mates based on how critical his family are towards them would love to send Pulisic back to the MLS or anywhere more suited to his level of ability. But this isn't the NBA we can't just trade the contracts of our deadwood. We actually need someone to want Pulisic and they don't. We've had no offers. That's been the problem we've had all summer there's a lot of deadwood we haven't been able to shift because clubs simply haven't came in for them.

Out of curiosity do you stain the forums of every club that has American players or do you only fanboy over Pulisic? You clearly don't like the club and Leeds have American players who are actually good enough to play for them so they seem a better fit for you. You are right though we've got a lot of issues to work out in the market these next 2 weeks and in the squad itself. But what we absolutely don't need is the father and agent of the worst player at the club endorsing attacks at players and the manager. Imagine if Kepa/Drinkwater/Bakayoko or Barkleys families all spouted off at the club every time they didn't play a game. Only 11 players can start a game and there's 25 senior players in every squad, should we expect the other 14s parents to be criticising the starters and manager every week? I get where Marks coming from though, he's watched his untalented son be talked up as a superstar in his national media because of his sons performances against under 14 Honduran reserves it must be hard to accept that he just isn't remotely special or notable at this level. We've tried! All excellent and much better signings than Maguire. But we even tried to offer Pulisic + Cash for De Ligt and Juventus didn't want him, only wanted money. But we couldn't get those deals done.

Why is his agent liking tweets about him needing to move on like we haven't been trying to move him on and bring in new attackers all Summer? I agree. I wouldn't consider buying Maguire. But the rumour is a swap for Pulisic. And between the 2 of them Maguire is only one with some actual strengths that could benefit the team even if he's got a number of weaknesses. You can bring him on late to defend a set piece help shut down a game. As opposed to all our attacking play shutting down naturally when Pulisic comes on. And I have a very hard time seeing any of our current centre backs aside from Koulibaly performing in a back 4. People actually say they want to see a back 4 instead of the 5 but never which of our centre backs they think could actually perform in a 4.

Perhaps I'm the optimist but I'm hopeful we'll have signed at least 1 player by next week. Either Auba or Fofana but at this point I'd take Maguire for the swap that's been rumoured. It doesn't really matter. No formation or team could fix the lack of talent we have up front. The current squad couldn't challenge for 4th under any manager. Signing a new winger is essential providing we do that. 4-3-3 Sterling - Havertz - New winger Kovacic - Jorginho - Mount Cucurella - Koulibaly - Fofana/Silva - Reece God help us The problem we have is that any system requires at least 3 competent attacking players and only Sterling and Mount have shown anything to suggest they can play at premier league level in their entire careers.

They've not. Pulisic and Ziyech have always been dross. One was terrible at his previous club the other played in the Dutch league. If Tuchel had a team of premier league proven performers and wasn't getting a tune out of them I'd get the argument. But hand on heart can you see any manager on the planet making Pulisic and Ziyech premier league calibre attacking players? I would throw Havertz in there as well but I believe he's got some talent, but he's never performed well in the Premier league either. We've been solid defensively more often than not but we massively lack talent in the final 3rd I think that's clear to see even when Tuchels system gets our players in good positions all our wide players are horrifically flawed.

Mark Pulisic liking tweets criticising Tuchel, Kai and Mount like his son actually got signed because of his footballing ability. G.I Gervinho needs to tell his dad to shut the f**k up. Embarrassing to see players parents constantly cry and criticise the club publically because their son isn't good enough to play more. Pulisic has had more minutes than he's deserved since he signed for us and plenty of time to do his talking on the pitch if he wants to blame someone for the way his sons career is going perhaps he should look closer to home.
