  1. If we sign Zaha to play alongside Sterling we just might.
  2. The negativity around Jorginho stems from the fact that Kante is our sacred Cow and can't be blamed for any of his obvious flaws so if the midfield isn't creative or is tedious in possession Jorginho must take full responsibility.
  3. Zaha scored 1 fewer premier league goal last season than Demarai Gray has in his entire career. Demarai Gray has never been the standout player in a comfortably midtable Premier league like Zaha has been. He just isn't in the same class as Wilf. The only player at Everton I'd consider taking is Gordon but he's very much one for the future while Zaha is a big step up right now albeit from a very low bar.
  4. I agree whole heartedly. But the precedent of paying the wages Barca owe after what's happened this summer paints the club in a terrible light. We need De Jong. But they need to sell him more. We have all the leverage here we shouldn't be offering them big money and covering his wages.
  5. Because our forward options are. Mount - Central player playing wide Havertz - central player playing wide Broja - central player playing wide. Cho - wants to leave Ziyech - wants to leave Werner - wants to leave/left Pulisic - the guy who's so bad our central players keep getting played out wide. Sterling is the only winger we have with a shred of pace and creativity. I think everyone can agree we need another winger and I'm really not sure why people would turn their noses up at Zaha being cheap due to his contract situation. Now you can argue he isn't absolutely top class but he won't be coming for a top class fee and i've yet to hear of a top class alternative we could sign this summer. We won't find a more proven player for the 30 or so million he'd cost and the idea he isn't a massive improvement on what we have is absolutely absurd.
  6. It's funny. I'd happily pay 50m for De Jong. But I wouldn't take him on a free if we had to pay his deferred salary. It's just semantics but the idea of paying wages Barca promised their players is nauseating.
  7. He's far better than the dross we currently have There's literally not a single thing on the football pitch Zaha doesn't do much better than Pulisic. Ziyech actually has a niche but he can't offer what Zaha can either. I'm genuinely surprised we didn't sign Zaha a month ago. It just makes too much sense. Werner and Ziyech want to leave, Pulisic is Pulisic While a premier league proven consistent double digit goal scorer with excellent dribbling ability and creativity sits on the last year of his contract at a club he wants to leave. He's even used to being triple teamed by defenders due to being his teams best player which is a big positive given we don't commit anyone forward from midfield he'll have to deal with that here. 30m or so for Zaha would be an incredible coup. We already saw how refreshing having someone who can actually beat players was with Sterling against Everton. Having Zaha on the pitch at the same time would make our attacking play much more enjoyable.
  8. Lmao 🤣 🤣🤣🤣 You follow a club solely because one of our worst ever signings is from your country just in the hope he might have 1 of his 4 good games a season. No one outside of America cares about Pulisics nationality. They care about chelsea and winning. He's criticised because he's been embarrassingly bad his entire career both at his previous club and for us and there's no football related reason why he's wasting a squad spot here or going into his 8th season as a professional without having a good season. The fact that people like yourself who support Puli not Chelsea and blame the club for him not being good enough will f**k off is just a bonus :)
  9. Given we're having to play Havertz and Mount out on the wing because our wingers are so sh*t I don't see how you can argue he hasn't held the team back. A lack of real attacking quality and wingers that can dribble and create have been our archillies heel for a number of years.
  10. He's much much worse than everyone else to the point people criticise Tuchel because our attackers aren't performing up to their previous standards. But Pulisic has just had the best 2 full seasons of his entire career under Tuchel. This is literally the best Pulisic has ever looked and he's still absolutely sh*t. Now there's obviously an argument about how Tuchels style and system suits our attacking players and what we can do in midfield to improve the creativity in the team but it's a massive concern we're bringing on such an untalented player to give us a spark. Liverpool brought on Nunez and will bring on Jota/Firminho and Diaz on occasion to change games. City have a ridiculous amount of quality they can bring on. Mahrez and Alvarez came on today with the game won. How can you criticise Tuchel when he doesn't have the attacking or creative midfield tools to work with? He's literally getting the absolute best seasons out of Pulisic we've seen in his career but if the talent isn't there he can't make him a premier league player. Do you think Tuchel would have played Havertz out of position on the wing if we managed to get a decent winger like Raphina or Dembele in?
  11. This would be a much better defence of Pulisic if he wasn't absolutely dogsh*t for pretty much his entire career prior to Tuchel coming in. I've been critical of Havertz and I don't think the system does him any favours but Mount has performed well over the last 2 seasons. But between the 3 of them ask yourself who the oldest is. Who's the one that has never scored double figures in a league season? Who's the one that's never been an important player to either of his clubs across a season? Who's the one constantly benched by every manager he's had in favour of younger more talented players? It's the one who's not good enough to be a squad player for us or play for any club in the Premier league. Sterling himself looked very bright yesterday and while I agree the system doesn't do any of our attacking players any favours I think we could also see the huge gulf I class between him and Pulisic. Which isn't a surprise given Sterling was a better player at 18 at Liverpool than Pulisic is today. Hype and marketing value can't replicate talent on the pitch. And it isn't some kind of shot I think it's a massive concern for us that if we're struggle offensively or Mount is having an off day we don't have any attacking quality on the bench to bring on and instead end up with Pulisic auditioning for Ghost.
  12. Not 1 single player with any value to this or any other premier league club has suggested they have a problem with Tuchel. If the trash wants to take itself out then it's a positive.
  13. Very Liberal use of the word Super.
  14. Wouldn't sell him for that at all. He's at worst the 4th best attacking player in our front three. Can't think of any long term replacement we can get without considerable outlay.
  15. Pointing out an untalented player has been benched his entire career and averages 4 goals a season isn't scapegoating. They're simply the facts. That's very different to people saying things like "Kante has to cover for Jorginho all the time or we'll collapse" when Jorginho has performed well both for Italy and in games here without Kante.
  16. They're completely different though, one is a crappy 4 goal a season Winger that has been benched every season of his career by more talented players with all 4 of his club managers preferring other players. A player that has done next to nothing in his entire 7 year club career, literally does nothing well and looks massively out of his depth almost every time he disgraces the pitch yet some people pretend he's some kind of top talent being wasted. The other is Jorginho. A player that was key in revolutionising Napoli into playing some of the best football in Europe. A player that has started almost every game for one of the best club sides in the world under multiple managers and was the one of the 1st names on the team sheet for an Italy side that won the Euro's on the back of a record 37 game undefeated run yet so many want to downplay his importance to his teams. Why do all these managers choose to start Jorginho? Unlike Puli who is always benched. Why has Jorginho been the heartbeat of multiple successful teams? Jorginho is the reverse Pulisic. Jorgi has even outscored Pulisic since they've both been at the club.
  17. Do you think Jorginho is sad to see Alonso go as it confirms his place as the number 1 scapegoat on the team this season?
  18. Gutted to see him go. But it hasn't worked out and it's probably for the best. It does make us weaker though and we have to sign someone now. I'll miss Timo and fully expect him to start banging in the goals at his next club which is more than I can say for some of the players he leaves behind here.
  19. Didn't Hazard get man of the match in his 1st 2 premier league starts? I was at the Wigan game and it was clear to me he was something special then. I thought it was immediately obvious he was far more talented and gifted than Mata and Oscar who he played with, 2 very good players in their own right but Hazard was something truly special and while it did take time for him to consistently put in world class performances (Mata was still our best player in Edens first season) I had absolutely no doubts about the frightening level of Ability Eden had. I don't see it with Kai at all, that's the concern. It isn't that he's not performing, or he's missing chances or the system isn't suiting him. When he has the ball I just don't see this ridiculous level of talent he apparently has and haven't seen it at any point in watching him. It's not that things aren't coming off for him like they sometimes don't for talented young players it's that he's finding it impossible to actually impose himself on the game he isn't beating or running past premier league defenders and he doesn't have the vision or eye for a pass to be that creative spark. Of course he's still so young but It's so clear there's a massive gulf in natural ability between Kai and Eden and for someone built up as a generational talent who commanded a generational transfer fee I think everyone expected a bit more from Kai.
  20. Or alternatively it seems he could just move clubs.
  21. Was hoping we'd offer Pulisic to Leicester to knock 10/15m off the Fofana fee But they probably wouldn't want him. Cho going does make sense for all parties unfortunately but we do absolutely have to bring in another forward if he goes, we probably have to bring in one anyway. I expect him to perform well if he does go he's got talent but I do think he's lost a step after his injury and not had the game time to figure out how to adjust his game.
  22. Sterling beat more players off the dribble today than Werner has in his career. Obviously he didn't score or assist but I think Sterling showed today just how diabolically bad Werner, Pulisic and Ziyech are at creating space or making things happen. He was bright and constantly taking the ball past players which is something we haven't seen in years.
  23. It literally wasn't possible to sell to us. Leeds did nothing wrong here and there Owner was clear he wanted to sell to us. But they couldn't physically traffic Raphina to us in the back of a van the player wouldn't sign for anyone else but Barca their hands were tied.
  24. God speed. The performance needs to be better than Today or we'll lose. Conte will set up his team exactly like Everton did today. They'll just be better drilled defensively and Kane/Son and Kuleveski will punish us if we give them the space Evertons front line got.
  25. He doesn't have half the talent Hazard did. For all the generational talent bullsh*t people spout around Kai he's nowhere near as technically as gifted as Eden and he's nowhere near as physically gifted with pace or agility. Now Kai is certainly talented don't get me wrong and he can be quality but I have no idea why people think he's this potential superstar who can decide games regularly for us. As silky as he can be he doesn't have some of the tools the top players use to regularly cut apart defences.
