If Touchameni is not being pursed and Declan Rice is too hard perhaps De Jong could fit the bill. At age 25 and reasonably injury free he would fit in well to Chelseas box to box midfielder group I am thinking. Arguably a potential captain as well although I don't really know that.

Mate he played centre back for Ajax. Leaving aside his height and physicality you could argue he is exactly the ball playing centre back we need to replace Silva. Personally I think De Jong and Kounde and some big fast lad on the left would do ok. We would have a Barcelona defence a la Puyol era. Anyhow I probably have no clue.

Would be quite happy if we could sign him. I wonder how much Barca would be looking for though. 

Along the same lines De Ligt would be a cracking signing as well but Juve may want a huge figure. Perhaps a Jorgi plus cash deal may work.

If there's even a slight chance we should be absolutely all over this.

You are mixing up De Ligt (CB) with De Jong (MF).

No he didn’t. He just gets moved around to accommodate their Spanish talents; Pedri & Gavi.

For me if they are really skint, we should be offering them money for Pedri, Gavi, Araujo in that order before considering De Jong. Knowing Tuchel he’d rather have Dest 🤦‍♂️ 

if we are sticking with 343 he would be a great option in the pivot, but if we revert to 433,i think we need more of a dm.

Given Barcelona's situation (also reports Jorignho is now likely off) we should be all over it.

No I am not. See Wikipedia "Aged 20, he made 26 appearances for the first team. Primarily he featured as a center-back, in a back four, alongside national teammate Matthijs de Ligt due to the departure of Davinson Sanchez. He also played in a three-man center-midfield. "

He is a DM/DLP. Part of the reason he hasn't consistently hit his best at Barca is because he hasn't played there a lot (due to Busquets still hogging the minutes).

Should try to steal him from Man United. He's a good talent just couldn't make it in Barcelona which has been the story of many good talents.

I feel like speed and defensively he would be an upgrade over Jorginho in the pivot role, and he's probably just as good technically.

It's a good excuse, Something isnt adding up at barca...mainly the numbers, How can this be in line with fair play haha, billion quid debt owe all sorts in UNPAID wages and are trying to gazump our transfers and buy our players
