I think he might be interested in the unusual method we have of actually paying his wages in full.

Either that or he has seen my post calling him out for being a pu$$y and not competing in the strongest league in Europe and he us deciding to grow a pair.

You know that's probably what it is, I reckon.

We’d soon put a stop to that nonsense…as stated in another thread. How would we as fans at home watching on tv get other jobs done at the same time as watching, with no recycling of the ball?

That's a fair point. A bit like Corrie, you can nip out to the loo, make a coffee and come back and the plot still hasn't changed!

Too right, the refreshments don't reach the sofa by themselves, you know. None of this dynamic, forward playing nonsense!

That's why they're so desperate to sell him.

If that is correct it’s a lot of reasons for Frenkie to stay at the club. Why would he give up the loyalty bonus?

De Jong is similar to Gallagher. Maybe leaning towards Jorginho more stylewise. We also have Billy Gilmour in our ranks. I think we need to buy someone who is able to break the play. In Prem you need midfield-generals. De Jong for me is not that. Rice would tick a lot of boxes for us.

Rice for one, has never played in a progressive system in his career (IE seeing more of the ball and controlling the midfield). De Jong is not only far technically superior to Gallagher, their influence in the team are polar opposites. De Jong functions best as a regista and Gallagher an advanced ball winner.

If we are going the data driven approach, Rice isn't an option. De Jong is and if De Jong doesn't want to leave I can wager Jude Bellingham will be on the club's radar over Rice.

Would be quite something if De Jong refuses and stays pass the window.

However I expect Barca to bully him and make his life so miserable he joins United.

I don't think they can force him to leave so easily. They were probably hoping he would jump at the chance to join Ten Hag at United, but pretty sure he will refuse to move unless they settle up his back pay.

I had a theory that the whole Kounde deal was a bit of a stand off due to us wanting to buy him before we bid for De Jong, but Barca want us to buy De Jong first so they can fund the Kounde, Azpi and Alonso signings.  Total speculation but I wouldn't put it past Barca stalling the Kounde deal long enough to sell De Jong to us or Utd.

I don't think we are at best at controlling the midfield absolutely against better sides anyway. Against lesser sides we would and will.

I don't see De Jong fitting us perfectly. It would be a purchase we could do but probably should not do. As a playmaker Frenkie is playing closer to our pwn goal as is Jorginho. Difference between the two is De Jong is more physical (who isn't) and he looks for long balls where Jorg is trying to play triangles and balance the game for defensive purposes also.

If we go for De Jong we still need a second Kante which could be Rice.

Excellent, let's watch these fckers bleed.

I mean how much have they offered to pay Lewandowski, surely the guy knows he's never going to get it. He is bigger than De Jong and if they can't pay him...It's crazy.

This borderlines a conspiracy theory.

He should do the same as Bale. Tip them bollox and sit on the golf course until his money comes in.

At the very peak under Tuchel, Jorginho and Kante with Mount coming in deep had us compete against the elite sides.

-Champions League final we matched City in the midfield battle.

-FA Cup semi final we bettered City in midfield.

- Real Madrid CL semi final home and away we dominated the midfield.

It's more than evident by now when we have a holder + advanced ball carrier in midfield, we have the perfect balance. De Jong is a massive upgrade on Jorginho given he provides what Jorginho does + more.

I do agree with your last point, although I still wouldn't be surprised if Bellingham is a priority over Rice.

This also explains today's press articles that is apparently from De Jong that he will only leave Barcelona to join Chelsea.

Clearly this has come from Barcelona who don't give a fck about him or us but are trying to get Man Utd to take the bait. Its so transparent its laughable.
