  1. I think any other manaager with the talent at his disposal should have won a competition from 3 semis and 1 final. Southgate has the winning ethic of a spurs manager. 1. Will welcome Gareth Southgate's resignation if he wins or bottles it like a spud. I would have gladly welcomed his resignation after any of the last few competitions. 2. we lose and he can f*ck off faster. Well behind the team but the players have carried the gaffer.
  2. Your suspicion is based on what? this forum isn't worth the wear and tear of the internet if we apply your logic to it... I'd be delighted to exchange Lukaku, Casadei for Osimhen... We signed Washington last year and he was world class at warming the bench, Im sure many of our new signings will also be worldies at watching Chelsea play from the fringes.
  3. think he's a gonner... rumours are he's been offered as part swap for Osmineh. which says a lot considering the guy who signed him from us last year on loan is now our manager and it appears doesnt want to work with him this year.
  4. Seen far too young prodigys not going on to become top players to get excited about talent that probably isnt going to make it. However, it is possible to get excited. I was for this group of players. but see how many havent made it at top clubs. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-chelsea-uefa-u19/startseite/verein/41573/saison_id/2015
  5. Im struggling to think of any youngster we have signed from Latin America who has risen through the ranks to become first team players. Happy to be led on this with some names. We have two exciting youth players who have yet to play football in Europe, get used to the league, culture, climate, language, who have never left home before and are expected to make a huge impact at a club theyve never played for. There is a lot that can go wrong for them before they even touch down in UK. If they make it great, but to think that we've signed offshoots of jizz from both of Jesus' testicles as football messiahs is... umm.. pie in the sky stuff. Never want players to fail but when the expectation from fans is so great, often there is bitter disappointment that follows.
  6. Im just wondering about the players we've already got, in multiple positions that have been signed for large sums, do they get a look in, where do they all play, when will the club sell any of the ones who havent made the grade yet? We're just accumalating talent and can only ever play 11...
  7. Both are terrific players and Tomori as well. Theyve done well in Serie A. I also find it strange Southgate has ditched smalling who has also been outstanding in Serie A since moving there. If you want to play continental football at International level, you need players who play abroad. Anyhow, Spain Germany tonight, anyone fancy a bet on Morata or our mop haired left back Cucu scoring for Spain?
  8. Funny you say that, a mate of mine would happily take Chalobah in any swap deal plus cash for Murillo at Forrest as he thinks hes a better defender than the Brazilian... I just dont want us to dip into our pockets and find another 80 million on a player when we have the quality at the club in one shape or another. Tomori should be in the England set up as well... I look at both players and think we missed out on both tbh... Imagine if we had just got Mitchell in as a left back, might have only cost us 20 million.
  9. I love Silva, Dave both club legends. but even back then father time and writing was all over the wall for both players and both could have left there and then after the Champions league win. Their departures wouldnt have made any difference to what followed. Guehi went on to form a rock-solid partnership with Mitchell at Palace the season we sold him and hand on heart, I'd have him in our team over our recent 3 centre half signings. Mitchell should have been at this summer's Euros as our left back. Anyhow, our loss is Palace and Englands gain. I imagine it would be a 50 million bid to get him back.

  12. I really think that if our owners are serious about signing, using, and building a club around youth, they really need to stop buying other young footballers and start looking into the academy. It has over the last 10 years developed an amazing reputation for player development. 1. it will stop them wasting huge amounts of money on unknown potential 2. it will provide a pathway to the first team where youngsters will want to stay and develop with us. It would also stop players like Solanke, Musiala et all leaving 3. Regardless of what the yanks do, us fans will have a bond with the club. 4. means the club will hit whatever financial restriction targets in future with ease and allow us to spend, sometimes big, on players that will improve the 1st eleven.
  13. Big fan of the lad was when he was with us and think he's been absolutely brilliant for England at the euros. Had he stuck around we probably wouldnt have needed to sign three centre backs costing 180 million or so. to think he wouldnt go on to play as a senior for England or make the grade as a top footballer.... was criminal to let him go so cheaply. He would improve us defensively right now.
  14. My bad, yes, he isnt a journeyman, one club, but he is imo not much better than sidwell... the biggest obsticle to Carny blossoming is sadly his own body... much like our kid Reece... TBH... key to this season for us is keeping James fit and in the side. Top four with him and palmer (needs to stay fit too) in the side, top ten without them both. Subject to our new manager proving he's competant. Wish he had chosen brighton... I guess our owners thought it was a way of us stopping spending 80 million on him next season after signing for them and having a belter of a season. His signing, along with the others have just left me go Meh... If he knuckles down and trains and doesnt give out, great, but we had many players like that, Kovacic being a prime example. Any player who pulls on the odd shirt this season gets my total support, even if you lot want to lynch them for sh*tty performances. "We used to date porno, now we just rent, do you really remember where the good times went" - Rollins Band. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6FXvrIKyuc Just imagine this punk legend singing this to our yank owners. Theyve let us all down. We need a bloody big season from all the players...
  15. Nottingham Forrest owner and Olympiacos is it? trade players between clubs for profit. Seems to be a plan and working for the past few years there.
  16. Chelsea were the only player in for him. Klopp/ Liverpool/ Sloth didnt want him, Newcastles Del boy manager didnt want him... He was relegated from the Premiership and no one wanted to buy him... Despite as some said above he was standout in that side. Journeyman signing, on a par with the Sidwell side of things for me. If he sets the premiership ablaze, i'll be amazed. Hope to see it, but really dont expect anything. Dont see improvements with any of our signings this summer over whats been let go. Im in extreme hope mode already for the season, hope pre season calms my nerves and the opening game sets the pace... but ive got all my fingers and toes crossed.
  17. We're owned by Scum... Aboslute scum. Want em all gone.
  18. Who? I guess as a long-term fan, I also have to sign up to this "journey" - I have to Fu**ing "TruST thE ProCEss" - and enjoy watching "talent" fail to make the grade. Cant wait until they decide to sell up and wash their cash elsewhere. Cartel loving cu*ts. How many more years of this crap do we have to put up with. He was just another overhyped player who failed to live up to his potential and lets face it, with the players in that side at the time, a amputee could have socred 20+ goals a season.
  19. I'm struggling with the inclusion of KDH anywhere near the first team, if he's happy to be a super squad player and just tie up his laces in Cobham everyday and Stamford bridge on match days i fully support that, but he aint a player who will get you up the division nor should be starting - I see him more as a guy who will help the players transition to yet more new tactics from another coach.
  20. It was chalk and cheese between England and Spain's styles last night. I dont think any chelsea fan would bemoan football like the type Barcelona played when they had their star names from Spain and Argentina in that side with Pep. The clashes between Chelsea and Barca back in the 2000's were epic and the clash in football styles between those sides still continues to this day. You dont really win football games without possession or ability to retain the ball. We're heading down a data route, players are now athletes and secondly footballer, (given the injuries they're sustaining) and unless CFC can play fast attacking football like spain which was really well described above by a poster, then CFC are going to struggle. If there's any hope for me its that Cole Palmer looks like he wants to tear up football pitches club and international level, with him in the side, we have a chance in any game, he's going to push saka out of the england side and some of the stuff he did with defenders bouncing off him just looked a lot like Hazard, I think Cole has a much higher work rate than Eden, so fingers crossed we keep ho;d of him because he is to CFC what Haarland is to City. I also think Palmer in England team has made Foden look bang average. He's to next season not being a snooze fest
  21. I think thats the issue with possession football. When done well it looks fantastic, but when its not done well, players dont buy into or cant play it, its really turgid. The right balance... Of all the "Possession managers" weve had, how many have had it going well? After three transfer windows, 1 billion spent, I hope the players can play Maresca ball from the off. If he can get Cole Palmer banging in 40+ great. we'll win some games, but defence is an issue for me going into the new season. How we set up will matter... Interesting pre-season ahead.
  22. Any manager that delivers a thrill factor that isnt killed by VAR is the man for this club. I dont think pressing football is that type of football and dont think Maresca will last more than six months, I actually think the game is moving on past pep. Once KDB is done, so is the spanish dildo head who manages him.
  23. 19 million that didnt need to be spent for a player never going to see the first team because he's not needed. i wonder how many in the academy are as good or better at this stage of their careers?! Why would you promote one of those?
  24. So where does that leave fans who are massively critical of Jackson, Mudryk, Madueke and the other youngsters who have been signed and then castigated by fans?? We sign these players and theyre rounded on for being rubbish, or not performing to their levels... We've gone through 5 managers now in two seasons. I dont expect Maresca to stay in position beyond October if results arent going for us as our board are more trigger happy than a firing squad. We need a "pathway" into the team for talent we have in our academy. Why sign it elsewhere when it can produce players like Gallagher, Guehi, Abraham, Mount, RLC, Odoi, Christiensen etc... But most fans would loan players out to "develop" as theyre not the finished article. Fans need to understand the club has changed... not sure for the better just yet... but to be so critical of young players knowing that the club are only going to sign players with potential, fans have to check their realities. We've a new manager, new ideas, and the team will take time... for the fifth time in two years change playing styles and positions and blah blah blah. Marsca has got to get this group of players playing from gameweek 1 or Palmer, Jackson and the team will be picked off for better wages at other clubs and we'll continue in mid table flirting with relegation.
  25. reads like a good conspiracy theory backed by rumour. Minutes on the pitch suggest otherwise. Enzo goes to the Olympics and lights up the tournament which he could well do - i think every man, woman and their dogs on here would be shouting for his inclusion wouldn't they? Guess we'll see this season under a new manager, clean slate and all that...
