June 22, 20242 yr A top gem unearthed again by Joe Shields? a vessel to help both Chelsea and Villa out of PSR difficulties? A cash grab designed to make money for us down the line? You decide, but we have found our new striker. Aston Villas youth forward 18 year old Omari Kellyman.

Nearly all the goals and assists are in youth football as it stands, so the "reported" £19M fee is a hefty one on that basis. He's tall though 🙂 191cm
June 22, 20242 yr Chelsea are showing interest in Barcelona striker Marc Guiu [18] who has a 6m euro (£5.08m) release clause. That is the type of money you spend on a relatively unknown player. Omari Kellyman to Chelsea for £19m - who? why? what? Who is? Why so much money? IF he was any good why wouldn’t they want to keep him? What is this all about?

So we were after Duran and Duran was switched out for the Kellyman. . . in a classic bait and switch?

June 22, 20242 yr I think we would have had much better puns if we had signed Duran from Aston Villa.

June 22, 20242 yr Author Hey he is a right sided left footed attacker. Olise at 220k? Kellyman at 30k?

June 23, 20242 yr Looks like there’s a group thing going on here. I don’t understand though, how does buying each others youngsters at inflated prices help circumnavigate PSR?

Sell acadrmy player for £30m - all profit Buy academy player for £10m - stretch it over 5 years amortisation. Basically ffp circumvention. The whole point is something I said when ffp first appeared, youth players will become transfer fodder, cash cows, rather than it create an easier path to the first team. It's been all about protecting the "big" clubs, keeping them on top. Edited June 23, 20242 yr by dkw
June 23, 20242 yr Only time will tell if this proves to be a good signing, but (granted only based on youtube) he gives me Izzy Brown vibes. Let's hope he stays injury free.
June 23, 20242 yr SO MUCH FOR BUYING EXPERIENCED PLAYERS, ANOTHER ONE WHO WILL BE SHIPPED OUT ON LOAN NEVER TO RETURN

It's been all about protecting the "big" clubs, keeping them on top. It’s not only that. You can inflate the price for both. Club A sellers academy player A to club B for 100 all profit. True market value is 50. Club B sells academy player B to club A for 100, pure profit. Actual market value 50. each club has created 50 of bullsh*t value and no one is any worse off. Both clubs have high depreciation and would take a loss if the player has to be resold at true value. For all I know the high depreciation may be tax deductible so there is also a cash benefit.
