Big half to play, a 1-0 second half win is all we need...Jose knows how to win 1-0 he just need to do it in the second 45 minutes as well as the first.

I love Oscar but I predicted tonights team with Willian in Oscars role and Shurrle starting...maybe a bit too ambitious but I thought that team had the goals in it, thats why I only bet on 4-0 when I saw the lineup .

I'm confident enough but if it doesn't happen I'm happy in the knowledge we'll get our main problems sorted for next season and that is really gonna be the start of Mourihos Chelsea. I've always said anythings a bonus this season and I'm including top four so with a bit less expectancy than most, although I never feel too good if we go out of a competition I'll console myself easier than usual with one eye on next season. anyway lets kick their arses.

With no Ramire. Matic to choose from then the only realistic options are Lampard/Mikel/Luiz...Oscar would be an option but none of us have seen him play there and if Jose didn't try that when Mata was here I don't think he will now.

I think most of the top three teams in the country would be quietly confident....Wigan are the current holders and we'll be able to say the same on the 18th

My take on it is Jose Told Lukaku Torres would likely be his first choice and he could stay and fight for the place, asked him what he would prefer and as soon as Lukaku dithered on the answer, felt he wasn't ready...that and that any manager looking at how good Torres used to be and how much the club spent on him would feel that he was possibly the right coach to bring him back. Rights and wrongs of what transpired are difficult to prove and depend on your agenda, it could have been better if Lukaku stayed but he could have spent far too much time on the bench (this way if he comes back here next season he will have improved and if he doesn't he will be worth more) it could have been better for Jose to write Torres off before spending time trying to coach him back to something like his best and hindsight says it would have but had Torres improved that would have been the better outcome for the Club.

You were lucky to get the bet on Just...I took Blueblurs advice but when I put the betting slip under the glass the woman behind the jump called the manager who said I had to leave the premises as I must have been inebriated!

Obsessed by Torres, the only obsession I have with Torres is that being that his best form as a Chelsea player makes him barely good enough for a team at our level when he is on the field in less than his best form or worse, in the unmotivated mood he has been of late (typically the Palace game and the half he got against PSG, then we are effectively a ten man team...if you are happy that you're midfield "technicity" exhasted a team playing effectively with ten men then all I say is bring it on when it's eleven vs eleven (even if one of our eleven is a spent force in one of the most important positions as long as he is up for it) and we'll talk again afterwards...if you're still hanging around the forum. It's a lot easier to shut out the threat of Hazard when the striker is as you say "burned", maybe if your defenders had to worry about a CF when they doubled on on Eden they would find shutting him out even more difficult.

I did like the way Eden took the free kick off Luiz, it was a way out and you could see he was weighing up options and it was likely going to end up a waste, what would be hilarious is if next time Hazard lines up for a tricky little penalty and the goalie has seen it all before and stands his ground, Luiz comes running up and blasts it straight at him taking him into the net with the ball. I'm sure they had a laugh about it after the game, there were no dodgy looks or anything and for me it shows they are likely good mates.

Willian (no end product) was superb, that said what was good to see is Shurrle was equally impressive while he was on the pitch, good team performance, and Ash looked like he fancied playing a bit more.

The thing is with the turnaround in Paris it wasn't so much a physical collapse as a mental one, Once Torres was introduced in the mood he was in as I said we might as well have been down to ten men, if you think PSG areon the same level as Barcalona then you might have a bit of a wake up call pretty soon, I won't say we'll turn it round because I don't know if Jose will again trust Torres to lead the line and if he does I don't know what mood he will be in, I'll say this though...if Torres plays (and he wouldn't if it were my choice) and he has the right attitude, links up with the team and doesn't go missing I think we can get the result we need. It's not easy as we have to make changes to our midfield, leaving our most solid DM out of CL games and trying to get a good mix in there is making it difficult to get the team playing properly as a unit and the lack of a top striker is hampering our progress, that said when the players we have are all right up for it, we can beat anyone. This might not be our season but I think it could go down as the beginning of another superb Mourinho reign, over the next couple of years with those problems eradicated this season will be an interesting stepping stone in the history of the club.

I think to be honest you might be over crediting PSG with the shift in play that came about second half...my personal view was that although Shurrle was not leading the line like a central striker (which prompted Jose to make a switch that had Eto'o been on our bench would have likely resulted in an away victory) he did play like a footballer with some intention of making a contribution in the game. When Jose made the switch to Torres, instead of the fact that he was benched for a winger making him more determined it in fact had about the same influence on the game as a sending off for Shurrle would have had. If Torres starts the second leg, your dreams could well come true and I wouldn't begrudge you getting carried away with what would be a great result for your team, the facts are though that our weak link has been up front all season and although Jose has done brilliantly to have us in the position we are with the available strikers when Eto'o is not available and Ba has had such little game time then we need Torres at his best, I'm not saying he has ever been at his best here but as long as he is trying his best at least we are playing eleven vs eleven, it's when he isn't that we are blunt and some of that must be down to our atacking mids lack of belief in the striker making even their performances drop off. I don't mean to blame Torres for everything but his last two performances have sunk to an all time low at what is the most important stage of the season, bad form is forgivable but for me lack of effort and commitment are the worst traits a player can show. I'd give Ba the start even with his lack of game time purely because I think it will give the others hope and show them that lack of effort is rewarded with lack of game time.

If this is the team I hope Luiz has his concentration right, he Struggles with his positional awareness in his usual CB position so I expect him to be all over the place playing Midfield and Left Back .

I thought Wilian was one of the better players tonight, he kept possession well, got back and defended well and put a couple of balls into the box that a striker if we had one would be looking to get on to, the one where Torres gave him a stare after he done very well to beat his man and get the ball across being one of them. He was almost the least of our problems tonight and I'd give him the extra praise that I've never watched him and doubted he was giving it his best effort.

I felt at 2-1 we were almost content with the scoreline and the last goal came as a shock when it looked like bettering the result at the Bridge was a task we are capable of. I still think are in with a decent shout but we need to score early, what gives me a bit of hope is that Ramires (if he plays) will surely play better than tonight and Luiz (again if played) must be more disiplined, I'm sure Jose will be addressing those points and others. I'd give Ba the CF role if Eto'o isn't available as at least he might be a bit of a presence where sadly Shurrle and worse Torres never were. we're not out of it but Jose has really got to earn his money to turn this around.

I'm as happy as a pig in sh*t that we're even in the hunt. We've got the best Manager out there and he looks to be in it for the long haul, he's had us challenging without having a decent striker and he's got us back to looking a solid side, Build from the back may be an old adage but that's what we've done and done well, when Mourinho gets a top quality striker we'll see more from the likes of Hazard and Oscar, some of the weight will be lifted from them and we'll start to scare teams the way City and Pool have this season, we'll have the defense to go with it and the tactician in place to make sure it all comes together. When Jose came in I and many others said a season trophy less would be fine as we knew the team was in the right hands, what I've seen since only gos to show that we were spot on.

Bad week for predictions...we had a bad day but if City can only manage a draw with the gooners then there's hope for anybody.
