I think Alonso has to take some of the blame for this loss because of the subs. Attacking changes only came with only 10 mins left, bringing on Gusto in midfield instead of Barco who can create changes, Gusto offers nothing there.

We’ve said it for about 3 seasons now…the defence needed addressing a long time ago once Silva left. Nothing done by the directors to address the problem and we are paying the price….

We really are Fred Karnos circus at the back, running around with our heads cut off like headless chickens, wouldn’t be surprised if Arsenal score 4 or more goals by the time 90 mins are up unless Alonso makes some changes at HT. It’s just constant pressure on the defence and we are not winning the 2nd balls in the middle and giving away possession cheaply.

We’ve got to score another 2 to come away with a point here defending like this.

Glad this game is early in the season, a negative result won’t hurt so much, just a shame we’ve had a couple of key injuries. I think had Palestra and Caceido been fit we might have seen a different game. I’d have like to have seen Barco start and played 3 across the middle to match Arsenal…still as long as we play well and don’t get spanked I’ll be happy with that so early in the season.

I see Gusto in midfield I’m going to the gym.

He's on the short side, as are Barco and Caicedo. I'd like to see some big lumps of granite in the midfield.

Problem with Sanchez is that he makes one mistake and then looks incredibly nervous. This seems to spread to the defence. Rinse and repeat unfortunately.

Same issues being carried over by the same players…sideways backwards at the back, forwards clueless up front against defensive team, a tough task for Alonso but I am seeing some hope and don’t forget this is a mish mash of players of different levels, ages and experience and we got beat by a worldly today so I’m not too disappointed.

I think we will start to see an exodus of sales and a few loans in the next couple of weeks together with the youngsters returning to Cobham and never to be seen again. Really need to get shot of Delap, Jackson, Jorgensen, Disasi, Tosin, Gusto, Guiu for starters and possibly Enzo, Neto, Forfana, loans for Hato, Josh, Sarr, Anselmino, Satpayev. Even with my suggested outgoings by the time everyone is back the squad will still be bloated for a team playing one game a week.
