That Carragher v Neville debate regarding Emery was hilarious. Have to say though I do lean more towards Gary Neville’s take. This isn’t Emery’s team yet and he’s been in charge of a whopping two league matches. I’m not saying in time he will fix their problems and in all honesty I don’t think he will ever get them challenging for the title. But I do think it’s unfair to judge him after two matches and especially when it comes after one transfer window.

I agree with this. Did anyone see the half time of the game? Wright and Dixon were saying the exact same thing about his lack of itensity.

He did for sure but it doesn’t explain why Conte kept sticking with him. He dropped Giroud after a great debut too, Morata should have been made to fight for his place.

You do get that, like maybe he doesn’t suit international football or the system they play. Podolski was the reverse, he was average at club level with occasional flashes of brilliance but at international level he looked a different player.

If he were English he’d be one of the first names on the team sheet. Who have they taken over him?

I was just coming on to express my annoyance at fellow England fans on Twitter. We’ve played well in this friendly against Nigeria yet all they are doing is complaining. It’s exactly why England players feel the pressure so much, our media put too much on them and our fans do too. The fans post some absolute s***, most of it stems from league rivalries too. So you’ll find Liverpool fans moaning about how poor a united player is and so on it’s pathetic. Just get behind the lads!

If we do end up with Blanc I’ll get behind him even if I’m not convinced by him as a manager. The one thing that’s for sure is we can’t go into next season with Conte in charge.

The goal he was incorrectly disallowed against Liverpool was an incredible goal. The linesman was utter garbage in that match, Crespo should have had a hat trick.

I was glad he did it, wanted Italy to win.

Gianfranco Zola, Gianluca Vialli, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Didier Drogba, Hernan Crespo, Diego Costa. Kalou was an important player at times yet lacked consistency and Eto'o I think was good for us in his solitary season. I wouldn't say we haven't had much success, plus we've also signed PL experienced players and they haven't always been successful like Sutton, Torres, Ba, Falcao... I would agree that Mutu (drugs), Shevchenko (signed too late in his career after a knee op), Claudio Pizarro and Mateja Kezman and Pato (past it) turned out to be bad business. Of course we have had success with PL experienced strikers such as Mark Hughes, Nicolas Anelka and Giroud. I'd even stick Remy in a minor success as he was instrumental in the 14-15 title win and injuries scuppered him. Also Sturridge can be considered another minor success but one who didn't get enough of a chance and as we know Lukaku didn't really get a shot here.

If we can't get a better striker in and we keep him, Morata and Michy then Giroud would be first choice for me.
