  1. Don't think we'll see Cesc up top. We really need him in midfield and we really need pace up top on the counter.
  2. Can't really write it off based on one or two matches away against tough opposition. Also, assuming Hazard is playing false 9, he's a totally different beast now. Well suited to that role imo.
  3. Anyone else think a Stones - Zouma partnership would complement each other perfectly?
  4. Agree with that last paragraph. Also agree that he doesn't have any more excuses with the recent spending. But for the nine years without a trophy, Arsenal had a net transfer spend less than the likes of Stoke, Villa and Sunderland. I would say keeping them in the top 4 all those years was a pretty good achievement. Wenger has his faults and he's been too stubborn with his philosophy to be an elite manager as you say, but you can't deny what he's done for Arsenal.
  5. Three years, £215m spent and this is the only cup Brendan Rodgers has lifted as Liverpool manager..
  6. There you go. Every player has his price and for Hazard it's £200m+. I think that's pretty fair.
  7. Yeah, Remy's crap. Bring back Torres I say. I miss last season when our starting and backup strikers could both be counted on to score goals.
  8. 31st goal of the season for Neymar. Messi meanwhile, just does everything.
  9. Florent Malouda's Fantasy XI: High praise for our players. Also, spot on with David Luiz.
  10. Ah! This must be why Wenger gets Arsenal knocked out early every season.
  11. Hernandez should have done this:
  12. And also this hypothetical signing who we don't even know yet. Well to be fair, the guy (whoever he is) has shown nothing for us so far.
  13. Can't be certain of anything but it is a pointless exercise to start worrying about a potential situation where a player wants to leave, when there has been no indication of something like that. Ronaldo gets mentioned but he has always been highly ambitious and maintained that he dreamt of playing for Madrid. And he still comes out with statements of 'being sad' at Madrid. I find Hazard to be quite different and I think he realizes he's playing for the best manager in the world who will take him to the very top. I also think we have a very strong group here, and as long as we're successful and I would expect us to be under Jose, I don't see any of our players being desperate to leave.
  14. Even without considering that, I don't think it makes a lot of sense to spend that sort of money on someone who would be backup to Costa, when we have Remy and Bamford waiting, and other positions in our team that can be upgraded or where a lack of depth is clearly evident.
  15. Some of the recent big money attacking signings from Serie A. You are right to be wary. 14/15 Juan Cuadrado €31,00 Mill. Mario Balotelli €20,00 Mill. 13/14 Edinson Cavani €64,50 Mill. Érik Lamela €30,00 Mill. Stevan Jovetic €26,00 Mill. 12/13 Ezequiel Lavezzi €28,95 Mill. Zlatan Ibrahimovic €21,00 Mill. 11/12 Javier Pastore €42,00 Mill. Alexis Sánchez €26,00 Mill.
  16. He'll come good. It's not been the easiest situation for him to come into. Adapting to the premier league after coming from Serie A is hard enough as a number of big signings have shown in the past and with high pressure matches and Jose having his trusted XI, you have to be pretty special going forward and show fantastic defensive work to break in. Cuadrado is not quite there on either front and the lack of minutes doesn't look to have helped his confidence at all. He's not a poor player though, give him some time and I think he'll be a good option for us and give us something different to anyone else in the squad at present. I have to agree though that signing a player from Serie A in January is probably not a great idea.
  17. Oh no! Real Madrid are after him, what on earth are we going to do? I guess we could tell them to f**k off!
  18. He has two years remaining on his contract. Sterling would be a brilliant signing but I can't see Liverpool selling this summer. They might as well write off any chance of getting back in the champions league if they do that.
  19. Neuer should have been off in the first leg and now Badstuber. As clear a red card as you could see.
  20. Should have mentioned Iniesta. No player makes dribbling look so simple as him.
  21. Neymar again, what an overrated player he is.
  22. It is a valid question although I don't really agree with the argument that Oscar has to facilitate Hazard and Fabregas and that's why he suffers creatively. I think talent dictates who supplements who as a playmaker, and talent will always shine through. Creative players will work well together and complement each other's creativity and not the other way round.
