  1. Further to my appearance at Highbury, I remember being on TV when the cameras decided to film the ticket queue at Plough Lane for the Wimbledon v Leeds FA Cup game in the mid-70's. Wimbledon were still in the Southern League then, and had got a draw in the first game at Elland Road. The replay took place at Selhurst Park (Crystal Palace), where there was a sell-out crowd, around 49,000. The notorious Leeds following were met by a combined welcoming committee of Chelsea & Millwall fans, and much fun was had by all - glad the cameras weren't there for that! Oh, and Wimbledon lost the game 0-1
  2. I think Jokanovic was harshly treated by Chelsea fans. OK, he was no world beater, but he was nowhere as bad as he was made out to be. Hope he does well as manager. Speaking of ex-Chelsea players managing clubs, does anybody know how Super Dan Petrescu is getting on? Last I heard he was in charge of Unirea Urziceni.
  3. I reckon Drogba will be fit again just in time to f*ck off to the ACN - and I don't think that's any coincidence. I seriously doubt that his operation was urgent, and that he insisted on it being done early so he wouldn't miss out on playing for his country - let's face it, Chelsea hardly seem to be his first priority. I'm only going by my instincts though, so I may be wrong - I certainly hope so. ps - I agree with you about Sheva. If he maintains this run in the side while Drogba's away, I reckon he'll come right back to his old form.
  4. It's the queue of disabled people waiting outside and busting for a piss that I feel sorry for in all this
  5. I agree that Ricci was great yesterday, and rate him as highly as I do JT. It's the rest that worry me - the list below shows my own personal confidence level in each defender (you got that, heckel? these are not stats!), but solely in their defensive roles: - CB's Carvalho..........100% Terry................100% Alex...................75% Ben Haim.............0% FB's Bridge.................60% Ferreira...............15% Cole....................25% Beletti.................25% Trouble is, JT & Ricci hardly get a game together as one of them always seems to be injured. Alex is a very good back-up and seems to be improving with each game, but I wouldn't pick Ben Haim for my local pub team. As for the full-backs, Bridgey is the best of the bunch - he's not the greatest defensive player around, but is excellent going forward - the same goes for Beletti. I can't remember the last time I saw Ferreira have a good game, he worries the life out of me when he's selected - most players make mistakes from time to time, but Paulo seems to be making a career out of it, which is a shame as I like the bloke. And so far as I can recall, Ashley Cole has had just one or two decent games for us. Hope the management have also noticed this.......but I won't be holding my breath.
  6. Petr Cech looked even more dodgy before he got injured today. In fact he's been a bit iffy for a little while now - I reckon he's lacking confidence in his defence, I know I am
  7. Absolutely - that'd be like us signing the likes of Billy Bremner, Johnny Giles, Emlyn Hughes, or Dean Saunders - unthinkable!
  8. Far be it from my nature do defend Yogic, but I'm pretty sure that the Hunt he mentioned was an abbreviation of Huntelaar
  9. Depends which club the former player went to. Durie and Poyet went to Spuds, so obviously there would be no way back for them, and Diarra & Gallas went to the Arse, same thing applies. Graeme Le Saux only went to Blackburn, and I for one welcomed him back. Years ago, Charlie Cooke went to Crystal Palace, thanks to Dave Sexton's wonderful management skills, but everyone Chelsea fan was elated when he returned. Same went for Ossie (Southampton), but unfortunately by the time he returned he was way past his best.
  10. I don't think his comments were racist, just stupid. I don't think Mikel over-reacted at all - he'd just had 6ft 7in of beanpole launched at his lower body, the impact alone would shake the bloke up. If Crouch had connected in the way he intended, Mikel would very likely never play again. And, as others have mentioned, plenty of British players dive too. I'm all for instant 5 match bans for anyone caught diving, with points deducted for the players club after a second offence. Managers might feel a bit more inclined to stamp it out (no pun intended) with those kind of penalties.
  11. Spot on, Geezer! Rodney Marsh wasn't too slow when it came to diving either, or Dave Wagstaffe of Wolves either. And more recently, the worst English diver in my opinion has to be Michael Owen (along with Gerrard). Crouch's pathetic comments are all too typical of Liverpool FC really, totally incapable of accepting they're to blame for anything, and very quick at trying to aportion the blame elsewhere. The w*nkers have been doing this for many years, from their Chairman right down to the classless tw*ts on their websites who've probably never even been to Anfield. F*ckin' scousers, I've got no time for any of 'em
  12. Can't blame him - I went to Aberdeen just the once, but the place reeked of fish. Wasn't even grab-a-granny night either
  13. I humbly apologise, can't think where I got the idea he played for Aberdeen. Maybe getting him mixed up with Willie Miller or Alex McLeish - must lay off that Magners! I can't help but be a bit confused by your claim that Aberdeen FC have a good name - I still remember Neil Simpson's assault on Iain Durrant which put him out of football for about two years. Simpson didn't even get a yellow card if I remember right. Still, I may be a tad biased being a Gers fan so I'll give you the benefit of a doubt All of which means that Hansen's only 'crime' was playing for Liverpool, which back then wasn't such a terrible thing, but of course it would be unforgivable in this day and age - so his w*nkish characteristics have lessened somewhat on the w*nkometer.
  14. Although you have to admit that Alan Hansen has some w*nkish characteristics as well. Well obviously - he played for both Aberdeen and Liverpool, so he's clearly suspect
  15. Lampard hasn't looked interested for ages now, it's like he's got his mind on other things - Spain, perhaps? I for one wouldn't be sorry if he left, though I'm grateful for what he's given to Chelsea in his time here. hasn't looked interested, my arse! You want to argue he hasn't played as well then I'll go with that, but not interested - I can't see that! Even amidst a pretty average showing against the Arsenal he was still running around working his balls off defensively. If he wants to go then fine - but if he wants to stay we'd be mad not to hang on to him. That's the whole point though - does he want to stay? From what I've seen lately, he's been playing way below what he's capable of, and doesn't seem to be as interested or passionate as he once was - and I'm not the only one to notice that by any means. If you see it another way, fair enough, but kindly leave your arse out of it If he signs a new contract and finds the form he had a couple of years ago, then I'll be happy for him to stay - just so long as he promises not to take any more free kicks
  16. I never understood why Sanchez left his job as Northern Ireland manager, he was doing well. Money, I suppose, but he must have known that going to Fulham was a sh*te move. Hell of a coincidence about Collins, eh?
  17. As you say, Lofty, I think he was brought in primarily as cover for the ANC, what with Essien & Mikel both going. He always looked a decent player to me when he was at Reading, but I haven't formed an opinion of him yet as a Chelsea player, simply because he hasn't played enough. Only time will tell.....
  18. I can't understand the amount of negativity towards Sidwell. How can anyone judge if he's good enough when he hasn't had (and won't get) a decent run in the team? Any player who only makes the occasional appearance isn't going to be at their best - they won't be match fit, and won't have the team experience to make a decent impact.
  19. I'm totally with Lofty on this one (I usually am on all things regarding scousers). Liverpool should be wiped off the map, I hate those c*nts nearly as much as I hate the scum from N17.
  20. Nice one Roman - any chance of a tenner till after Christmas?
  21. QPR are only our rivals in their eyes. Up until the early 80's QPR's main local rivals were Fulham, with no love lost on either side, but then QPR fans seemed to think they deserved bigger and better rivalry. Quite comical really - whenever we played at Loftus Road we took over the entire ground, hardly a QPR fan to be seen - yet they're our rivals? Well, let them believe it if they want, but to most Chelsea fans, QPR are just a bunch of w*nkers from Shepherds Bush Be interesting to see what effect that kind of money has on a crap team with a crap ground and crap fans. Once they've bought their way into the Premier League, hopefully they'll build a big new stadium at White City and attract all the prawn sandwich brigade away from the Bridge. And then all us older fans might start going to games again - what a great thought
  22. Lampard hasn't looked interested for ages now, it's like he's got his mind on other things - Spain, perhaps? I for one wouldn't be sorry if he left, though I'm grateful for what he's given to Chelsea in his time here.
  23. If we draw Septic I'll be very tempted to come up for the game in Glasgow. Not so sure that's a good idea though
  24. Finding someone better than Ben Haim? The f*ckin' tea lady is probably better than him, he's the worst central defender I've seen play for Chelsea in almost 30 years. We should offload him in January and bring in a younger and better replacement - shouldn't be too difficult!
  25. ITV's highlights were a joke. As usual, the commentary 'team' got very excited at everything the scousers did, it really was sickening. You could hear the disappointment in their voices when we scored -don't these c*nts know that they're supposed to be impartial??? And as for that prize w*nker Jim Beglin, I'm sure he's head-over-heels in love with Carjacker, he was almost in tears when the replay showed that Lampard's shot was deflected by 'Mr.Dignity'. TV commentators and pundits? With the possible exception of Alan Hansen, they're all w*nkers, the f*ckin' lot of 'em*
