Carling Cup Final
I was sagely nodding my head, finding myself in total agreement with your post.....and then I got to the last sentence While I have to admit that O'Neill is ten times the manager that Grant is, I just totally hate the bloke. And it's nothing to do with his Septic connections, I've hated him since he was a player at Nottingham Forest - he was a gobby little turd back then, and he still is. It'd break my heart to see him in charge of my Chelsea, though he'd probably do well for us. Actually, now I think of it, I felt pretty much the same way about Mark Hughes when we signed him, but he soon won me round! But if I had a choice, O'Neill wouldn't be it.

Who else should we get rid of?
I'd pretty much go along with all of that, though I'd add Ferreira to the 'must go' list. Sad to agree about Sheva - I had such high hopes for him, but he now seems to injured more often than not, and I doubt he'll get much of a chance in the side with Drogba and Anelka both fit. Especially as we play that so boring 4-5-1 (masquerading as a 4-3-3), meaning only one striker gets a game, unless of course it's a Wembley Cup Final against the scum of N17, in which case we'll play with two strikers, but one of them will be played totally out of position. I also expect Drogba & Lampard to leave in the summer, and to be honest I won't be sorry to see either of them go. Lamps hasn't been anywhere near his old form for a long time now, and I'm sick to the back teeth with Drogba's antics - he's an embarrassment to Chelsea. As for new signings, that's going to depend entirely on who the new manager is (please, God, there must be a new manager!!!! ). I just hope it's someone who recognises the benefits of blooding decent youngsters sooner rather than later (or never), something that neither Mourinho or Grant had the balls to try.

Worst Player in Cup FInal
He's not a f*ckin' manager either...

MOTD
Assuming he does, I wonder how you'll feel having pleged not to watch Chelsea again until his sacked. There's obviously no chance of that ever happening, so your comment is redundant

Carling Cup Final
I've watched Chelsea for over 40 years, but I've never seen us surrender like this. There are certain games or teams that us fans will never accept defeat against, and the y*ds are right up there at the top of the list. That's it, I won't be watching Chelsea again until Grant leaves, the man is an incompetent w*nker. I watched us play under the likes of Blanchflower and Hurst, yet I still supported the club - but the incompetence of Grant is frightening - he clearly doesn't give a f*ck about Chelsea.

a question for all you Grant supporters...
Grant is the manager Grant picks the team Grant chooses the tactics Grant makes substitutions Grant takes responsibility for f*cking up big time

A f*ckin' good question, MannyJello, I'm waiting for answers......

Carling Cup Final
That's it - after over 40 years of supporting Chelsea, I won't be watching again until Grant has gone. He f*cked up, big time, the useless c*nt!!!

is there a video of eduardos injury?
W*nger has just proved yet again what a total c*nt and hypocrite he is. He conveniently never sees any incidents which his little angels perpetrate, such as Eboue's challenge on JT, or indeed several of Eboue's other challenges. Arsenal have a horrendous record of red cards since W*nger took charge, mostly because of their highly aggressive attitude. Think back to Keown, Dixon, Vieira, Petit and the like, dirty c*nts, the lot of 'em. And I don't for one minute believe that W*nger meant a word of his retraction, he's just a lying piece of sh*t trying to cover his arse. I also believe that Taylor didn't go into that tackle with any intention other than winning the ball - though of course it's difficult to tell even after watching it in close-up on TV, so really only Taylor will know.

MOTD
I like Hansen, he's one of the only pundits around who talks sense and doesn't constantly slag Chelsea down. I also believe he's right about the title race, I think we've got no chance of winning the league, and won't have until Grant has gone and we get a proper manager in. It'd be great if Uncle Fester could prove me wrong though.....

Chelsea Songs
Quite a few on here: - http://home.wanadoo.nl/maarten.geluk/songs/chelsea.html I much prefer the old songs, but you only ever hear them sung in the pubs now, never in the ground - mainly because the only people who know the words (old buggers like me) are sitting miles away from each other. circa 1970 "Arsenal have Radford, and Palace have Queen, West Ham have Geoff Hurst and Tottenham Gilzean, But Chelsea have Osgood and he is the King, And also Keith Weller, the King on the wing, KEEFY, KEEFY WELLER, KEEFY WELLER ON THE WI-ING KEEFY, KEEFY WELLER, KEEFY WELLER ON THE WING" and, sung to the tune of that great reggae single, "Montego Bay" - "Five hundred Tottenham lying dead, Just cos they tried to take the Chelsea Shed, Come in the morning or come at night, Don't come at all if you cannot fight, Woh oh oh oh oh oh, the Chelsea Shed, Woh oh oh oh oh oh, the Chelsea Shed" another one from the late 60's skinhead era "We don't carry shotguns, We don't carry lead, We only carry hatchets to bury in your head, We don't carry razors, We don't carry tools, We only wear our bovver boots to kick you in the balls" There were so many songs sung in the old days, and it seemed there were new ones being tried out every week. I particularly used to love "Knees Up Mother Brown" and "Molly Malone", great days There are loads of songs concerning T*ttenham and their scum fans, but for some reason people tend to be offended by them in this day and age

The Big Match Revisited
My Sunday's were very similar to yours by the sound of it, Tim. Though by the late 70's I was playing football on Saturday mornings, which meant I was able to spend the rest of the day/evening doing my best to drink various South London pubs dry So my Sunday mornings were spent nursing gigantic hangovers rather than playing football, something that was helped enormously by quaffing (love that word ) about 7 or 8 pints of Double Diamond or Long Life down the Star in Mitcham. But the pubs were only open for two hours Sunday lunchtimes, which left five hours to kill before opening time in the evening! I still have nightmares about those barbaric licencing hours I f*ckin' hated Sundays back then, but The Big Match certainly helped a bit I just hope they show some of the better Chelsea games from the 70's and early 80's, and not some of the crap performances from that era!

is there a video of eduardos injury?
David Busst of Coventry City, 1996. That was a truly horrific injury, with groundstaff using sand to soak up the pools of blood on the pitch. I think Peter Schmeichel threw up on the pitch when he saw the extent of the injury. Details given in the link below - be aware that there's a picture of the tackle at time of impact in the link. http://www.360soccer.com/resource/bussted.html Back to today, I wish Eduardo well, and hope he makes a full recovery. I'd like to say that no player deserves to get injured like that, but it simply isn't true as far as I'm concerned. I'd have no sympathy at all if it were the likes of Eboue or Ben Thatcher who were on the receiving end.

Anyone watching the Arsenal Birmingham game?
Confirmed on 5Live that it's a broken lower left leg. Even worse, Arse just equalised with a dodgy goal

The Big Match Revisited
The Big Match Revisited is being shown tomorrow (Sunday) at 11:15am on ITV4, Freeview Channel 28 - probably a repeat of Thursday's programme, I'm not sure. I'm gonna make a point of seeing as many of these as possible, Chelsea featured on The Big Match pretty regularly!

Messi V Kaka V C.Ronaldo
Kaka for me, mainly because I despise the other two so much, the diving pair of c*nts

Win Sunday or Champions League
Beating the N17 scum in a Cup Final is far more important to me than anything we might do in Europe. The outcome of the Rottenham game will have a far greater effect on me than almost any other football event. When we win on Sunday I'll be happy for months - should the unspeakable happen, I'll be depressed for months.

Is Malouda a FLOP yet?
I agree that Malouda didn't have a good game last night, but he wasn't the worst player on the pitch - Drogba & Joey were both appalling. In fact Joey has been well below par this season, but I don't hear too many people calling him a flop or even giving him any criticism. Seems that a lot of people have one rule for their favourites and another rule for the rest (apart from Joe Cole, see Lampard, Ferreira, and even JT). Hopefully it's just a case of Malouda needing to be given time, just as some of our other foreign imports did - Drogba in particular.

MOTM Away vs Olympiacos
It was a toss-up between Riccy & Alex for me - Riccy won out, as Alex got himself a yellow card. All in all though, nobody played well enough to warrant MOM. If this is the style of football we've got to look forward to under Grant, I think I'll stop watching Chelsea until he's gone.

match thread -- Olympiacos v. Chelsea -- 1st leg (19-2-08)
What a load of crap! It was just like watching us play the scousers two weeks ago all over again, f*ckin' sh*te! Joe Cole was terrible, and so was Drogba. In fact the only players who came out of it with any credit were Alex, Riccy and to a lesser extent, Maka (his passing was pretty erratic at times). I very nearly switched the TV off at half-time, we were so poor, but I decided we could only get better - I was wrong, I wish I hadn't bothered watching it at all. And I've found yet another opponent to despise! That Radicevic or whatever his bloody name is, Olympiakos' #9 - what a dirty diving cheating c*nt!!! He obviously went to the Rodney Marsh Divers Academy along with Ronaldo & Deco

MOTM vs Huddersfield
I agree 100%, Tim - let's hope Grant's replacement (please God, let there be one, and soon) has the balls to blood the youngsters. We seem to be the only club too scared to play youngsters (with the exception of John Obi Mikel).

BARNSLEEEEEEEEY!!!!!!!!
I noticed that too - couldn't believe that a professional commentator would come out with such a stupid comment, though I suppose I should be used to it by now. Gallas & Gilberto should both have been sent off, and if that meant the Arse were down to eight men on the pitch, whose fault is that? W*nkers! Back to the scousers humiliation, did anyone else notice Alonso pushing a Barnsley player away at the end of the game when all he wanted was to swap shirts? Alonso must have realised the cameras might be on him because he gave the geezer his shirt in the end. No class at all, can't stand the bloke. And watching MOTD last night, I was actually laughing out loud - not just at the result, but at the ineptitude of Peter Crouch. What a f**kin' clown that bloke is, it was like watching a baby giraffe trying to play football - though a baby giraffe would probably have better ball control, and certainly more character. Well done Barnsley, you made my weekend!

Oh Dani boy, the pipes are calling?
Right-back? Ferreira clearly isn't up to it, he makes far too many mistakes - I seriously don't understand the blind loyalty shown to him by certain posters, they're obviously remembering the days when he was a good player. I like Belletti, but he's knocking on a bit, as has already been mentioned in this thread. Hopefully we'll get at least another couple of years out of him. As a replacement for Ferreira, rather than Alves, I'd go for Philip Lahm - he's still only about 25, and can play on either the left or right. Possibly a better defensive player than Alves? Ivanovic might prove to be a great right-back or centre-back - on the other hand he might turn out to be another Graham Wilkins or Micky Nutton - only time will tell. And why the f*ck hasn't he been given a game yet? The excuse has been that he's not match fit - well nor were JT or Lampard, yet they played yesterday - what goes on? I wanna know!!!! Now!!!!
