I went for Anelka on this one. He was our most dangerous player since he came on, which says it all really.

A somewhat distant second for Makelele, back to his solid self, but far from impressive.

Maka for me. I voted quickly and nearly voted for malouda in error. icon_eek.gif

I would never have been able to forgive myself for that.

If you can give MOM to someone for the last few minutes then Nic gets it for me hands down,

Makalele again good, Carvalho and Alex although not hard pressed done well,

Ballack looked a bit dangerous but never really took hold of the game like I would have expected,

wasn't too impressed with Drogba, Malouda Belletti or Joey on the day but a professional enough performance that hopefully should be enough.

anyway I think I've got to give it to Anelka who looked more up for it than anyone else and showed why Grant has got to try to find a way to fit him and Drogba in the team.

It was a toss-up between Riccy & Alex for me - Riccy won out, as Alex got himself a yellow card.

All in all though, nobody played well enough to warrant MOM. If this is the style of football we've got to look forward to under Grant, I think I'll stop watching Chelsea until he's gone.

Cech, because he did nothing, which is better then most of the team.

+1

Totally agree. What a souless performance. I really hope they are saving something special for the League Cup Final. ::Scalf::

Where was Essien? He shouldn't play on the spot he played yesterday. Maka was 80% of our posession with the ball and he was the only decent player on the pitch. Kalou was ok when he came in as well as Anelka but otherwise the brain and the legs were somewhere between heathrow and greece.

The positive about this game was the fact that we played like crap and still didn't lose...

At some point in the game I was saying to myself that "hope olympiacos scores so we would have to try". I just hate these "lets go and defend like he*l and hope for a goal" games. Next time I won't watch a game like that the whole 90mins.

no-one for me...maybe the ref for blowing the final whistle

Ditto!!

Which game was more boring: this one or the last one against Liverfool?

Too late to vote by the looks of it but it's Anelka for me. At least we looked as though something may happen when he came on. Wish he'd started the game.
