c3blu
Something about ITV i just cant stand. Andy Townsend for one never gives us any credit, you'd never know he played for us. They have always been Arsenal fans from their Bob Wilson days. They are alway's heaping praise on Liverpoo or Man U and their great European nights, where we are dismissed. It really annoyed me the other night when i was'nt expecting a full house in what was a meaningless game against Valencia it was constantly mentioned after the game that it was only sold out because of reduced prices. Lets not mention on the Arsenal channel that all of their games are covered in their season tickets, and all their games were on offer to members at reduced prices. Or the fact that it still costs more to Watch us even at the reduced price than it does Liverpoo or ManU at normal cost. The anti-Chelsea media are still there. They may not have been to bothered in the last few months with all thats gone on. Perhaps they no longer saw us as a threat. MOTD only offer us as an after thought in their highlights show, and you can hear the tabloids sharpening their knives the closer we get to the Prem summit. How long before they drop the subtlety and start on us again at full throttle?
BLUENUT
I picked up on the '41 thousand attendance at the bridge tonight, but Chelsea did reduce prices for the game' etc.....it was shoe-horned in everytime the attendance was metioned. It annoyed me aswell!!!! I thought I was the only one who picked up on it.
Tim
Yup, other clubs are appauded for 'giving something back to their loyal fans' but when we do it, it is dismissed as a cheap marketing ploy. Bottom line, I gues though, is who gives a f*ck what the media say - if reduced prices mean we can all afford to attend more matches, then that's absolutely fine by me! dkw
did anyone else get a bit miffed that half tim of the chelsea v valencia game, all they talked about was the liverpool game. barely even mentioned our game. oh, and the arsenal game was well below capacity. but, once again wasnt even mentioned. loz
C3blu If you had to rate this list of people in order of 'who you would like to catch syhphillus' Roy Keane Robbie Savage Alan Green Andy Townsend Jamie Carragher then, for me, Townsend comes top of the pile. Never ever ever be surprised that he doesn't have a good word to say about us and always laugh at the fact that he tries to make out that the only reason we hate him is because he left Chelsea. He is scum.

He is scum. Townsend does the slag the team Loz, but to be fair he normally only has good things to say about us the fans and how we impressed him during his time at the club. I have heard him talk about our awesome away support on several occaisions. Only the other week on Talksport, (the discussion was about travelling fans making an away fixture seem like a home game), he mentioned how we always used to turn Loftus Road into Stamford Bridge for the day. True enough Andy. As we also used to do at Luton, Watford, Foolham, Leicester and also most famously at that first match of the 84-85 season, Arsenal. loz
I'll take your word for it Just as I stopped listening to him a long time ago. Trying to get me to warm to Andy Townsend is like telling BLuebeard you met a nic Frenchie once!
glory55
In the last week (or so) on this site, people have had a moan up about Talksport,ITV and Match of the day. So some of the media ar'nt really keen on us.......whats new? When have the media in general EVER given us the credit we deserved? Although he was a good player I dont really like Andy Townsend, infact I think he's a Judas and he's as Irish as Clinton Morrison. He deserved all the stick he got when he came back to the Bridge with Villa!! But as a pundit I dont have a problem with him,he's just doing a job. And I have often heard him praise Chelsea on the radio.
c3blu
I actually loved Townsend as a player and was gutted when he left. He left Chelsea to 'win trophies' and then went on to lose in 2 cup finals to us, that must grate a little .
Jimboola69
ITV is utter pants. Only 5IVE beats them in the pants stakes. BBC (less Lawro) and SKy are the best broadcasters.
Lofty
I watched the highlights on ITV last night. Clive Tildsley didn't have Saint Stevie's cock to suck, but his tongue was so far up Carjacker's arse it was embarrassing. Not to mention nauseating. BlueBeard
ITV's highlights were a joke. As usual, the commentary 'team' got very excited at everything the scousers did, it really was sickening. You could hear the disappointment in their voices when we scored -don't these c*nts know that they're supposed to be impartial??? And as for that prize w*nker Jim Beglin, I'm sure he's head-over-heels in love with Carjacker, he was almost in tears when the replay showed that Lampard's shot was deflected by 'Mr.Dignity'. TV commentators and pundits? With the possible exception of Alan Hansen, they're all w*nkers, the f*ckin' lot of 'em*
Blair Blue
I didn't see quite all of SKY's coverage of this morning's Champions League draw but am I correct in thinking that the other four British clubs had a spokesman interviewed but that there was no Chelsea interview? Surely there was a Chelsea representative present? As far as I could tell, there was only one sentence about Chelsea's draw from Ray Wilkins right at the close of the programme. Compared with the considerable time allocated to each of the other British clubs and their opponents, I find this anti-Chelsea bias hard to take. BlueBeard
As an Aberdonian, I must object to this unwarranted slur on the good name of Aberdeen Football Club! Alan Hansen never played for the Dandy Dons. His Scottish club was Partick Thistle. I humbly apologise, can't think where I got the idea he played for Aberdeen. Maybe getting him mixed up with Willie Miller or Alex McLeish - must lay off that Magners! I can't help but be a bit confused by your claim that Aberdeen FC have a good name - I still remember Neil Simpson's assault on Iain Durrant which put him out of football for about two years. Simpson didn't even get a yellow card if I remember right. Still, I may be a tad biased being a Gers fan so I'll give you the benefit of a doubt All of which means that Hansen's only 'crime' was playing for Liverpool, which back then wasn't such a terrible thing, but of course it would be unforgivable in this day and age - so his w*nkish characteristics have lessened somewhat on the w*nkometer.
