Daily Mirror apologise for b/s about Shevchenko
Wouldn't it be great if all journalists suddenly reverted back to what they originally were - reporters. In other words, people who just reported facts and didn't include their own warped and uninvited opinions. Clearly this will never happen, as their egos would never allow it - the average journalist would make Muhammad Ali seem like a shrinking violet.

Daily Mirror apologise for b/s about Shevchenko
I hate the Daily Mirror even more than The Sun, and believe me that takes some doing. It would seem that pressure has been applied to them regarding their story about Sheva being a 'snitch', and they've had to recant, the cahnts. Link - Mirror admit being full of sh*t and apologise

AFC Wimbledon docked 18 points
My AFC mate said exactly the same thing regarding the Ryman League - they look upon AFC as their cash-cow. As for the FA, most AFC fans still haven't forgiven them for allowing the franchise to set up in Milton Keynes. Feelings run very deep on this, and as I go up to see AFC occasionally, I'm gonna be looking at developments with great interest.

England vs Spain
Joey did get a mention during commentary, when they were bemoaning the lack of a left sided player - conveniently ignoring the fact that Gareth Barry & Stuart Downing were both on the bench. And yes, at one point Lawrenson did indeed refer to England as Liverpool - the bloke is an utter prick Then again, most ex-players/managers who sit in on commentary are just as bad, David Pleat being the obvious candidate for worst of the lot. I agree with you on Barton, I'd have played him from the start - he's a player in the Scotty Parker mould. As for Crouch??? Every time a cross came into the box, Crouch either leant on the defender or held him down with his hands all over the bloke, clearly fouling him - every time!. I honestly think the ref got it right, and not just because I hate Crouch and think he's probably the worst striker I've ever seen in an England shirt. Could be worse, he could have been Scottish

AFC Wimbledon docked 18 points
Beat me to it, Bluenut. This is yet another f*ckin' disgrace perpetrated by the FA. After hammering Bury for a similar breach of rules, they throw the book at AFC Wimbledon. One of my best mates is an AFC fan, and he's adamant that Jermaine Darlington had already left Cardiff, and was a free agent when AFC Wimbledon signed him. Even if he was still registered with Cardiff, how the hell does that make him an 'international' player - Cardiff play in the ENGLISH league for f*ck's sake! As in the Bury situation, there was no serious misconduct here - merely an administration error, if that. AFC were fourth in the Rymans Premier League, and going strong for promotion to the Conference South. They were also in the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy and looking good. Thanks to the FA, they are now 13th in the league, and their season is over. The FA have shown themselves to be a total bunch of c*nts over this. Once again they've flexed their muscles when a small club innocently transgresses their complicated rules - there is no way that if a bigger club had done the same that they'd have faced a similar penalty. It's bullying, simple as that really.

England vs Spain
Just for this game, though to be honest, if they played well together I'd certainly consider keeping them in. Neither McClaren or Eriksson have got the best out of Lamps for England, and Gerrard is an over-rated c*nt. I don't agree with Rooney having to play if fit - he's prone to loss of form, same as anyone else, and again, I think he's vastly over-rated. He's good, can't deny that, but a worldbeater (as the press would have you believe)? Do me a favour! Erm, no I don't That's not the reason I'd select Harewood though - I rate him far more than Crouch. F*ck, I rate Robert Fleck far more than Crouch! That comment alone has destroyed any credibility you might have had Crouch has scored a fair amount of goals for England, mainly because the opposition have been piss-poor. Any pub team striker would be able to grab a few goals in his situation

England vs Spain
The reason that I've not taken an interest in England's game against Spain is that I don't give a flying f*ck how England do......apart from the Chelsea lads of course I think that dropping Robinson is the correct decision - friendly matches are the only time to evaluate fringe players properly. Though I'd have picked Carson ahead of Foster. I agree with going 4-4-2, Loz - though I doubt we'd agree on the team Carson Richards - Woodgate - Terry - Baines Wright-Phillips - Barton - Parker - Barry Harewood - Defoe That's assuming that they are all fit. I'd have SWP in there simply so that he gets game time. I read somewhere that JT wasn't in contention, so maybe replace him with Ferdinand (not on ability, purely in the hope that he gets a horrendous injury) England are especially weak up front, even when everyone's fit. How that clown Crouch keeps getting selected is totally beyond me

Woody the Woodpecker
The only reason I wouldn't take him is his injury record. I think he's a good player, though not a great one - maybe he'd become a great one if he played more often and stayed injury free?
-
so then, the team for charlton
Frankie is a selfish tw*t then ? I think it was alright Actually, Frank is a selfish tw*t. I've seen him shoot for goal loads of times recently (and miss), when Sheva or Drogs have been in a far better position to score. Of course, when he bangs one in like he did against Charlton, it's difficult to complain too much ps - sorry Gem
-
Woody the Woodpecker
He's about as reliable as Michael Owen - and I wouldn't want him at Chelsea either. I'd much rather we brought in a promising youngster, or better still, gave Michael Mancienne a chance.
-
Wayne Bridge out of Spain game
Could be worse though - West Ham's Gabbidon & Collins look like they're never coming back from injury - strange coincidence that they've both got groin injuries. Hmmmm or

The last thing we need!!
Just what I was thinking - after all, hasn't Rooney been ruled out with 'injury' too? Ferguson's been getting away with that for years.

Sky should be careful what they wish for?
I think the dive you're talking about was by Gerrard (against Sheff.Utd?) - he went down without being touched and got the penalty. The ref stated afterwards that although there was no contact, the defender went in with intent. F*ckin' ridiculous, are refs and commentators mind-readers now as well as utter w*nkers?

He can't be serious, that article must have been written tongue-in-cheek. Either that, or the bloke's a total prat!

Scott Sinclair, watch it tonght...
I think Babayaro was/is the most one-footed player I can think of. The regular sight of him careering down the left wing, only to get blocked and having to turn back and keep turning round in circles to get the ball on his left foot was comical. Well, it's comical now, not so funny at the time

Man Utd vs Spurs
I can't argue with that - shame he sullies his own reputation by his behaviour. I'm taking it that you didn't see any Portugal games in the World Cup, and haven't seen Ronaldo at work at Manure all that often either. I can't believe that a non-Manure fan could ever condone his behaviour I know Robben & Drogba, hell, even Joey too, go down all too easily. But Ronaldo does it so often that I wonder if he dives when he's out walking. I've never seen one player blatantly dive so regularly, and what's worse, get away with it to such a large extent. Why do you suppose he gets that amount of stick from opposing fans? Please tell me that you don't buy into his story that they boo him because of his ability I agree that if Manure win the title this season, they'll owe a lot to Ronaldo. But they'll also owe a hell of a lot to soft referees who bottle out of taking action when he blatantly cheats. Probably the same refs who don't take action when getting a torrent of abuse from Rooney or Ferdinand.

Man Utd vs Spurs
Haven't seen any of the game yet, but what's this I'm hearing? Ronaldo diving?????? Surely not????? He's by far the biggest cheat I've ever seen on a pitch in over 40 years of watching football - and that includes Deco If he ever gets seriously injured in a game, I will piss myself laughing, and write a letter of congratulations to the person responsible - I hate that c*nt so much! Even if it's shown as a blatant dive on MOTD2 tonight, I can guarantee it'll just about be mentioned, whereas if it were Robben or Drogs diving it'd be national headlines for at least three days - f*ckin' media

Carlo v Hilario???
Got to agree with that. My favourite malt has got to be Glenmorangie though. It was only about 18 months ago on my trip to God's Own Country that I found there were loads of different types of Glenmorangie - I'd only been used to the usual bottle sold in English boozers Naturally I had to sample them all in a bar in Aberfeldy - with inevitable results You mean I missed it??? Anyone happen to video it?
