Scott Sinclair scores again
I'd love Argyle to get into the play-offs, I've always had a soft-spot for them since I lived in Cornwall years ago. Think they'll be hard pushed to achieve that this season now, but it's certainly not impossible. It'd be great for the Argyle fans - they've always had a decent following. I remember them bringing loads of fans up to a League Cup game at the Bridge as far back as 1971/72.

so then, the team for charlton
I think G4's player ratings are the best I've seen in a long time

Happy Days for Bluebeard - Le Guen Quits/Sacked
- Rovers at Home- Glory
Never fear, I've a sneaky feeling that Mourinho signed Chopper Harris up just before the deadline last night with games against those particular type of players in mind- Music cover versions - where the cover improves the original
That's a definite, though it may have been a touch easier to do while you were on Mull You'll have to let me know when you're back over this side of the water.........- Music cover versions - where the cover improves the original
Creedence albums in chronological order: - 01 - 1968 - Creedence Clearwater Revival includes "I Put A Spell On You" and a brilliant 8?+ minute version of "Susie Q" 02 - 1969 - Bayou Country includes "Born On The Bayou", "Proud Mary" & "Keep On Chooglin'" 03 - 1969 - Green River includes "Bad Moon Rising" & "Lodi" 04 - 1969 - Willy & The Poor Boys includes "Down On The Corner", "Fortunate Son" & "The Midnight Special" 05 - 1970 - Cosmo's Factory includes the excellent "Run Through The Jungle", "Up Around The Bend", "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", "Who'll Stop The Rain" & "Long As I Can See The Light" 06 - 1970 - Pendulum includes "Hey Tonight" & "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" 07 - 1972 - Mardi Gras includes "Sweet Hitch Hiker". This is the one without Tom Fogerty, and is a very weak album compared to their previous stuff. They also did a couple of live albums, one recorded in 1971 and the other in 1973. Anyone new to Creedence, I'd recommend "Chronicle", a really excellent best-of compilation.- Music cover versions - where the cover improves the original
I love CCR's version, but still prefer Marvin Gaye's effort. Oh, and I would also recommend "Cosmo's Factory" to anyone who likes rock music - Creedence's finest album, just edging ahead of "Willy & The Poor Boys", "Bayou Country" and their first album, simply called "Creedence Clearwater Revival". Sh*t, I'm gonna have to go and play some Creedence now.....- Happy Days for Bluebeard - Le Guen Quits/Sacked
Very happy with the Thomson signing - disappointed we didn't do a double swoop and get Scott Brown too- Trivia: History of the World Cup
Sorry, I meant to put a smiley emoticon in there It's an interesting quiz though, and brought back a few memories. Sadly true, and even worse, lately I've been feeling my age- Trivia: History of the World Cup
Cheers - I had a feeling the El Salvador one might be wrong - but Alan Ball was definitely a Blackpool player at the time of the 1966 World Cup - he was transferred to Everton in August 1966.- Mascherano
Damn, I bet Jose's pissed off - he's missed out on signing a central midfielder- Trivia: History of the World Cup

Yes, and Jos? will publicy announce that he and Ferguson has had an affair. He will???????- Premiership, how it could go
Well, I had to have a go eventually...... 1. Chelsea.....89 2. Man.Utd.....83 3. Arsenal.....72 4. Liverpool.....66 5. Bolton.....65 6. Spurs.....61 17. West Ham.....32 18. Wigan.....27 19. Charlton.....27 20. Watford.....22 Totally unbiased on my part! Obviously anybody using that predictor can only go on current or past form. It's impossible to tell which teams might start a good or bad run, or be crippled by injuries. Who knows, Watford might suddenly click into gear and start pressing for a European place- Jose gets some praise for a change
It's not necessarily a bad thing that we're not linked with Scottish players. What about Barry Ferguson? God knows we could do with a central midfielder- Chelsea v Forest
You've got to laugh at the Forest fans singing 'Champions Of Europe' - the TV camera zoomed in on them, and the average age must have been about 22 - they weren't even born when Forest won the European Cup! f**kin' hate Forest fans - not only were they the scabs of the miners strike, they mocked the death of Matthew Harding - w*nkers the f*ckin' lot of 'em- Chelsea v Forest
That's a bit of a choker- Favourite World Cup performer ever?
I remember collecting those coins too, and insisting that my dad got his petrol only at Esso garages I also seem to remember Typhoo tea packs having a football theme - each pack would have a picture and info of a different player. So, my mum was obviously under strict instructions to buy only Typhoo Tea And yes, Labone played for Everton. They won the league that year and beat us in the Charity Shield at the Bridge in August - sadly, I was there to witness it. Still annoys me to think of that stunted little ginger twat Alan Ball running around in his white boots and squeaking at the ref. And their chubby git of a keeper, Gordon West - the only player to get a song sung about him just because his name rhymed with Best! For those who don't know, it was a charming little ditty that was sung in the Shed to the tune of "Excerpt From A Teenage Opera", better known as "Grocer Jack": - Gordon West, Gordon West Biggest c*nt since Georgie Best Get on your bike And f*ck off home "Sigh", they don't write 'em like that anymore 8) 1970 - a good year for football - Chelsea won the cup for the first time ever, followed a couple of months later by the best World Cup ever! And the next season we went on to win the Cup Winners Cup!- Favourite World Cup performer ever?
1970 - same World Cup, same team, different player - Rivelino. He was the first player I ever saw who could bend the ball round a wall - known as a 'banana shot' back then Rivelino was a great player, could beat defenders, excellent passer of a ball, and had one hell of a shot on him. Unfortunately for him, fame wise, he was in a team full of all-time greats - Pele, Jairzinho, Carlos Alberto, Gerson, Tostao, etc....so he often doesn't get the credit he deserves. In fact, now I'm on the subject, I can remember quite a few players from that competition that I haven't thought about for years. Beckenbauer, Muller, Overath, Vogts, Haller, Seeler (West Germany) Facchetti, Rivera, Riva, Mazzola, Zoff, Boninsegna (Italy) Byshovets (Russia) Van Himst, Van Moer (Belgium) Cubillas (Peru) That was some World Cup though, wasn't it! I was about 12/13 when it was played, and haven't enjoyed a World Cup anywhere near as much since. It was the first time I'd seen football on a colour TV, and I was hooked - even that black and white ball became an icon. As far as I can remember, there wasn't a single player sent off in the tournament either. Only down side to it all was Peter Bonetti getting the blame for England's getting knocked out of the competition. One of his main accusers was more to blame than Bonetti was, a certain Brian Labone - the git! I've never forgiven him for slagging The Cat down in public. ....and Alf Ramsey's refusal to select Peter Osgood. ....oh, and England's World Cup song, "Back Home" - bloody awful! World Cups afterwards never lived up to the 1970 one, and I endured numerous embarrassments and disappointments following Scotland's efforts on TV. They even managed to get knocked out of the 1974 World Cup Finals without losing a game!- If Mourinho leaves this summer...
I loved it when Ruud came to Chelsea, and I strongly believe that had he stayed, he'd have taken us further than Vialli or Ranieri ever would. It was one of the biggest Chelsea moments of my life when I heard he was coming here, and I'm sure that goes for a lot of other Blues fans. Thing is, at the time it was his playing skills we were excited about, the management stuff that came later was a bonus. If he were to come back now, would he be able to build on what Mourinho's put in place? Impossible to know until it happens (if it ever does), but at least he wouldn't have Bates' ego to contend with anymore.- Platini vs Johansson, who do you prefer, do you care a jot?
Not much to choose between them on the personality front, but I opted for Johansson as 'he will probably die soon' .....just hope he takes Blatter with him Anyway, I could never have brought myself to vote in favour of Platini for the simple reason that he's French Why do they never find decent candidates in these situations? As in politics, we're always stuck with having to choose the lesser of two evils.- If Mourinho leaves this summer...
Mark Hughes - he's British, he's been a Chelsea supporter all his life, and even played for us for a while - and didn't do too badly as I recall He's doing OK at Blackburn, and it would be interesting to see how he'd do with a bit of dosh to chuck about. I'd much rather we took Hughesy than some big-name foreign manager who doesn't know f*ck all about the EPL. Mourinho is one of the very few who have had real success over here. Benitez will never lift the scousers to where they want to be, and Wenger is just a c*nt. It would also be great to see Ruud Gullit back at the Bridge, but I'm not sure if he'd have the same impact as he did first time around.- CFC The Most Unbalanced Squad In The EP ?
That doesn't count as 'just posting a sarcastic emoticon', as you'd already made a comment- CFC The Most Unbalanced Squad In The EP ?
Sorry BJD It's just so frustrating watching him play knowing that he's capable of playing so much better (or at least he was). As for Cole, I just get so pissed off when he's selected ahead of Bridge all the time Oh, and coco, if you've got something to say, say it - don't just post sarcastic emoticons - we can all do that........... .....see, it's easy- CFC The Most Unbalanced Squad In The EP ?
I think our team is very well balanced. At the back we've got Paulo Ferreira on the right, and Ashley Cole on the left - so, total w*nkers on either side - Rovers at Home- Glory
