Kevin De Bruyne
I didn't see anything but did we land him? No Modric or Periera but I think we will be fine! Bosingwa is looking good just need him to stay healthy, Sturridge on the right, Mata on the left Lamps who looked rejuventaed with Mata last week and Josh his understudy with Angela and Drogba to alternate doesn't look too bad! I for one look forward to this season and we are going to instill some of the younger players! I am not complaining, we didn't spend nearly the figure we were rumored too and with a lot if players in their final year, we're setting the table for next year! I don't know, perhaps I am jar some Yank with too much optimism, what does everyone else think?

Luka Modric
They can have Mcclaren! Be glad to give him up if we can find out who this Mcclaren really is? Spuds, have to love their optimism

Luka Modric
Splendid! I was a bit nervous prior to Mata but now I see we've played our cards nice and tight this summer. We've managed to unsettle a cross town rival, infuriating their supporters, humiliated their chairman, and seems that we are getting our man on top of it all.. Now, possibly Perira, deBruyne, and now Van der Weihl (my apologies for the horrendous bothering of their names) all in the last week too! Even if we land Modric alone and sign nobody else it is Glorious day to be a Blue!

Name your wide man
Keisuke Honda or even the kid Chung Yun Lee at Bolton has impressed more than what we have today
-
Javier Pastore
And then sign Modric away from Spurs! Be a dream transfer season in 2011... Torres (who will come around), Luiz, Honda, Mata, and Modric, plus the old guard and some of the younger lads getting mixed in with the squad!
-
Javier Pastore
Spot on with Honda! No idea why nobody and in particularly Chelsea is making a run at him... Forget Pastore, way too much money and too inconsistent. Send Zhirkov to CSK with some cash for Honda and then with the rest of the kitty that would be going toward bringing Pastore in at the Bridge, we can nick Mata from Arsenal (who appear to be signing him for not a whole lot of cash)... Chelsea can get valuable face time in Japan/Asia, we pick up a guy who can play anywhere up front, and we'd have Mata and Malouda on the left side...

Adam Johnson
Not for nothing but Mr. SkyBlue, isn't there a City site/page you should be commenting on? This is a Chelsea rumor page and us Chelsea supporters are speaking about rumors. You, my friend are basically shooting everything down that we are discussing.

Adam Johnson
Excuse me... "Love" all that playing time
-
Adam Johnson
Yeah Mr SkyBlue, he must all that playing time too, haha! Anyway Johnson will cost us a fortune because he's English! I would much rather have Chung Yung Lee from Bolton or I would send Zhirkov and some cash to CSK Moscow for Keisuke Honda! Both young great talents from Asia that would pay dividends in the long run, especially Chelsea getting exposure over there...

Anyone else starting to sense something big is coming?
Maybe and I may be out on a dead limb here but perhaps Chelsea and AVB are going to let this season play out and see how it goes. As I mentioned earlier, the squad is certainly not terrible and could easily win the Prem just as much as a City or United. Perhaps the thinking here is let's see some of the older guard play out their contracts while they are still viable, get the younger kids time on the pitch and introduce them to a new system and the pace, and then next summer when clubs are challenged by the new rules, make moves to replace the aging players. As of now, some clubs are going to be unloading quite a few players, which will add pressure to the smaller clubs trying to sell of their budding stars, which may mean cheaper prices due to an overall increase in supply. It's pure speculation on my part but perhaps it is worth speaking about. It's basic economics and if it works in every other marketplace, why not human capital in the Footballing world?

Gee Bee, relax, take a valium, drink of whiskey, perhaps an elephant tranquilizer, anything to make you realise you are killing yourself with worry. We have a brand new coach who wants to implicate a whole new system. Stop faulting him for wanting to know the squad better and how they may or may not fit in... Would you rather Chelsea fire sale players and then create a system, only to say, we wish we still had blank or blank.... Personally, I really don't think we need go out and spend like LFC or United. The squad is fantastic, bit on the older side but not ancient. Remember United won mainly due to our disappearance for 3 months and the squad did come alive in the Spring. This season we don't have the entire squad at WC, which will help, plus many returning from injuries. We need a creative midfielder and a right back, not sure on a striker but that is AVB's call... I think if AVB changes the style and makes it more fluid-like with creativity, Chelsea will be fine... I am sure AVB knows and realizes that hammering the ball up the middle is not sound, after all you and everyone else does know as well, why wouldn't AVB? And to shoot down your "Buy early and ask questions later" philosophy "because waiting on players never works" theory, here are three late signing all in consecutive years that seemed to have worked out fairly well, Robinho (who left not of his play but of City), Berbatov, (who may miss quite a few sitters and doesn't track back but was and is still quality for United and should've played the CL Final instead of the disappearing Chicarito) and then last year VDV and Spurs. With Spurs waiting they were able to nick VDV at the final tick and did wonderful while all the other giants of Europe were sitting back after their summer feasting...

Luka Modric
For me, that's a little undervalued, I think a 30m and maybe Anelka would entice dear ole 'Arry to let Modric go... Otherwise, Spurs will just add one more to the "I am a prisoner at WHL" club... I find it a bit funny how we make a bid for Modric and the club explodes with bad publicity! Spurs and Arsenal are looking to be in some serious trouble and that's even before a ball is kicked in the 2011 season...

Luka Modric
Sorry, Nasri, not Madrid... ETF, spellcheck?

Luka Modric
Between Kranjar, Pavli, and now Modric, Spurs seem to be more of a prison camp these days... I certainly hope they can overcome City, Arsenal, LFC, Manchester Utd, and Chelsea and squeeze their way through the top 4, otherwise its going to be a mass exodus next season... 'Arry, you are a tyrant and if Levy doesn't pay attention, 'Arry is going to destroy the club! And people talk about Redknap as the next English NT manager? That would be a travesty! Guy destroyed the Hammers, Portsmouth, and he is clearly on his way with Spurs... I hope Chelsea has moved on from Modric, he will be a steal next year! As will Bale, VDV, Modric, and any other who is looking to exit after a second season with no Europe! Let's get Madrid and move on...

Giovani Dos Santos
Guy couldn't cut the mustard @ Spurs... Why Chelsea? And he did look good against the US but was there any defense played at all? US's backline was disgustingly horrible that match...

Chelsea Boss "Keen To Replace David Luiz"
Can't be true... If you want to play with flair, you don't ship Luiz out for Cahill... So much potential here with this kid!
