Real v. Barca
I don't know about that . . . Diarra's mistake in getting caught in midfield was inexcusable, but the other goals were not due to bad mistakes on defence, just good offense, in my opinion. Any way, it is a good game to watch.

Real v. Barca
It is only in the 20th minute, and it is already a gem of a game. Puyol's header goal was unbelievable -- the amount of power that he generated with his head for that goal was shocking.

3-1. Drogba, with a great set-up pass from Anelka.

Does anyone know of a good "media player" stream?

CL Semi, Chelsea vs Barcelona, 06/05/09, 19:45 KO
My recollection was that Ronaldo missed the net completely, and that Cech did not touch his shot. Am I wrong about that?

MOTM vs Barcelona (A)
Malouda did not play badly, by any means. He was probably our best midfielder out there, much better than Lamps and a little better than Ballack.

MOTM vs Barcelona (A)
More like he kept Victor Valdez busy.

That nice header by Ballack off of a corner was something we all forget about. That could easily have been our goal. Just a few inches over the bar.

Well, if Bossy was the one who did that shirt pull on Henry that was not called, then please change my vote to Cech.

Forgot about that shirt pull on Henry --- was it by Bossy?

I voted Bossy, for doing a great job on Messi. Of course, Cech is right up there, but that was a performance similar to Boularouz's job on Ronaldinho a few years back.

No, on that one, he did catch Iniesta on the cheekbone. Iniesta did not seem to be diving much, in my opinion.

He also could have sent Ballack off, but did not. There were pleny of dives by Barca in the 2nd half that he just waved away.

My MOM did not play for either team. He was the German referee, who had the best ref game that I have seem since Pierluigi Collina retired. It was a perfectly refereed match.

OK, I know when I am wrong, and this is one of those times. Stick to him close, Ivanovic.

He can't get tighter, since Henry is way too fast for him. He has to give him a big cushion (I thought that was obvious).

I would like to see long throws by Cech to near-mid-field, to try to pick out one of our midfield players. The long kicks to Valdez are not accomplishing anything.

Any sane person would have settled for that result prior to kickoff. I will be happy with a 1-0 result, to be honest.

A Team From All the Main Leagues
English Premier League: Duh! Scottish League: Celtic (well, I am Catholic). La Liga: Valencia (they play fair). Ligue Un: Nantes (having a bad time of late). Bundesliga: Schalke 04 (see Loz's comments -- they are just a fun team and have the best fans in the World). Russian League: Zenit (they play a wonderful style of football, and even with the loss of several great players over the past two years, they still play a splendid style of football (i.e., attacking). Eredevisie: AK Alkmaar. Serie A: I just love Lazio, which I know is a bad thing to say on a Chelsea forum. When SGE brought them to the title a few years back, after many years of not having won it, it was just magnificent. Kind of like Chelsea, in that they had a very long spell of not winning the Scudetto. Forgot two: Japan League: Urawa Reds MLS: DC United (nice 10 year history). Oops, one more: Argentina League: Newells Old Boys and River Plate (I hate Boca Juniors)

Spuds vs. Mancs
Living here in the States I can say that I don't have the vitriol hatred for the Spuds that you all do in England. However, I hate the Yankees with a passion, for similar reasons why I hate Manure with a passion (they pay for all the best players, they win a lot, and they are arrogant as hell). Thus, I can never root for them under any circumstances, EVER!

I feel like a genius. I got the ban length exactly correct.

Spuds vs. Mancs
OK. Fair enough. But I am just sick and tired of the Mancs getting every possible call at Old Trafford. It is unbelievable, and makes me crazy! Sir Alex RedNose is very snotty most of the time, and I have a hard time stomaching him. I must say this season he has been better than in past seasons, but probably because of all of the calls going his way.

Spuds vs. Mancs
Perhaps so, but this reads like the redcafe forum. sh*t, this is a Chelsea forum, and until we are mathematically out of the premier race, then anyone rooting for ManU to win is anti-Chelsea.
