Shed End Player of the Year
I voted the third option. Seriously, people tend to forget things at the beginning of the season, and overrate things that happened recently. Thus, to be fair, we should treat a MoM in August, 2008 the same as a MoM in May, 2009. The once only poll is unfair, as again it weights against players who may have had a not-so-good last month or so, but had a very good first 5 months of the 08/09 season.

Fair enough. I do think that Ivanovic should be given serious consideration for a place in the FA Cup final starting lineup. Perhaps start him against Sunderland, and see how he does.

That's my question. What is the chance that he will be fit for the FA Cup final?

Referees this season
I liked Clattenberg, but I have not seen him this season. Has he been dropped back to the Championship?

Criteria for Next Manager
Are those real photos, or are they photoshopped? If they are real photos, what is the story behind them (that is, what are nuns doing on the pitch at Stamford Bridge, and what is Gus doing dancing with nuns on the pitch)?

No chance for Carvalho to be ready for the FA Cup final? If there is any chance, I would like to see him in place or Alex, and I think that even if Carvalho is not ready, Ivanovic deserves a chance in training to overtake Alex for a starting position.

MOTM vs Blackburn
Now you got me confused. Former/Latter applies to two choices, but you have three. Is your 'former' Cole or Terry? Well, based on what you wrote, it must be Cole, since Terry did not have any bombing runs down the left.

MOTM vs Blackburn
I voted for Malouda, for his nice passing, and of course for that bullet header from all of 18 yards out.

Well done Man United
Yeah, if we won that game, we would have been 7 points up, but with two games in hand for ManU, so I think it would not have been such a big deal for ManU to make up that deficit, especially since it was so early in the season. ManU needs to thank the refs for giving them a few points, and they definitely came through in the last 5 to 10 minutes, turning several draws into wins and at least one loss into a win (Aston Villa game, which in my mind was the turnint point for them).

Lampard at my school
Is a nice shirt and tie the norm in English schools?

CL Semi, Chelsea vs Barcelona, 06/05/09, 19:45 KO
I read it again, and I see what you mean, Lofty. All apologies.

Oh God. I just read the email, and "raping the grass" sounds dreadful. How should have translate into proper English?

Now, now. Messieta has been very good on this forum, and let's not scare him off. Lofty: Barca does not play in an easy league, since from top to bottom La Liga is stronger than the English Premier league (the bottom 10 teams in La Liga are stronger than the bottom 10 teams in the English Premier League). We have our issues with Eto'o and Alves, but that is not to say that Xavi and Iniesta and Victor Valdez are consummate professionals.

Squad Changes in the Summer
This thread is in the wrong topic heading, this is for non-Chelsea football threads. Anyway, until this season, Riccy has been very durable for us, so I don't think we should sell him just because he has had a few injuries this season. As for Deco, are you serious in your question that you do not know why we bought him? Does Felipe Scolari mean anything to you?

Where does your loathing lie?
I voted ManU. I hate them for the same reasons that I hate the New York Yankees.
-
most hated club
Seems like Premier League referees agree with you, Gem, since ManU always seems to have the calls go there way. Probably out of respect. Without that, it would probably be neck-and-neck between us and Liverpool for the league title.

PL, Arsenal v Chelsea, 10/05/09, 1600
Not now, with Clarke and Zola there. I can honestly say that I like Arsene Wenger more than Sir Alex Rednose, and that I like Cesc Fabregas more than that w**ker Cristiano Ronaldo. Though I do hate Eboue with a passion, after he stomped on John Terry's foot a few seasons ago.

Film remakes that are a disgrace
The bees scene was fairly gripping. I don't remember that in the original. Lot's of punching of women in the remake - I also don't remember a lot of that in the original.

Barca v. Villareal
The more I see of Victor Valdez, the more I think that he really is not the weak link on that team. He makes great saves in important games, and he always seems to rise to the occasion. Well, now it is 3-1 Barca in a cakewalk.

Tom Henning Ovrebo
I think 2 out of every 3 words that comes out of Shrek's mouth is F@CK.

PL, Arsenal v Chelsea, 10/05/09, 1600
I'm with Lady Die on this one. Arsenal are just too poor to hate, and since ManU is always a threat to win the league, and since SAF is their coach, I just have to hate them with a passion.

Our strikers: the stark reality
Benzema WOULD. He has the strength and the pace.
- Yogic

Malouda
I like Malouda, and I supported him even when he was piss-poor, but I also see the wisdom to get a good price for him now that is stock value has risen to probably as high as it ever will get.

Yogic
Too bad one of the old timers who came over from Paul's site has left. He was one of the few who tried to be objective. I tried as well, and was criticized for saying that there were only two real penalties, and I stick by that statement. Besides the first sentence of Yogic's post, which was a bit controversial, everything else he said was not so bad, just one person's opinion about the state of the team. After watching the match again, and seeing Drogba miss those gilt-edged chances, I just want to scream and wring his neck. Yogic is a mellow person, as you can tell from his posts, and to scare him off the site is a sad day for our forum. He is owed a big apology.
