loz
Last home game of the season and a great chance for the fans to let Hiddink know just how much we would like him to stay. Forget all this anti UEFA chanting idea and lets show Guus some love!! Given that second place is still to be played for and we are in the build up to the FA Cup final I can't see Guus making too many changes to the team as he will want to maintain a winning streak to build confidence for Wembley. midlandblue
agreed, a steady and stable team in the build up to the final will be a priority.
PloKoon13
I'd be worried if we have any trouble winning this. They're practically safe so they have nothing to play for, not that they've been particularly good anyway... I'd expect at least a 2-0.
Ruh Buh Juh
I@m hoping for a few chances to be given out. Mancienne and Stoch should be given a start. Or Quaresma. Where's he gone anyway?
PloKoon13
I'm not sure if I'd start Stoch. If I played him I'd stick him on as an impact sub, who can use his rocket-like pace to tear apart tiring defences (especially one such as Blackburn's or Sunderland's...) kalpitv
This will be the first time we'll get to see the waffles on the players! Woohoo! There will be changes I think, but not in abundance. Match fitness should be maintained for the FA Cup final. Edited May 12, 2009 by kalpitv
icecoolguy22
Last chances for a number of players to impress Guss and earn themselves a spot in the team next season. The likes of Kalou, Belleti, Quaresma, Deco(if fit),even Hailario should get a game. It is also a good chance to try 442, create a few chances for Anelka to grab the golden boot from Ronaldo. Don't think it matters if they impress Guus since we probably will have a new manager next season (I doubt Guus will stay). Personally I'd like us to field the strongest team possible and then, if we score a couple of goals, we can think about bringing some of the reserves on. Stoch, Quaresma (give him a game, just to show that he's not forgotten) and perhaps Deco if he's fit.
Sheva
I expect quite a strong team to be honest, i only see him resting players at Sunderland on the 24 for the FA Cup final. I would like some youngsters to play like Stoch, Mancienne but we say it all the time we want them to play and they never do.

ozboy
Hmm Ivanovic, Mancienne and Di Santo all deserve some game time. Perhaps its next season. I think they could all use a half, maybe the first half in this game. Cech Boswinga Mancienne Ivanovic A Cole Essien Ballack Lampard Anelka Di santo Malouda Subs: Kalou, Drogs, Terry Alex Edited May 14, 2009 by ozboy

PloKoon13
Anelka should definitely start in the middle...2 goals this game and 2 goals against sunderland should guarantee him the golden boot!! Good call! And look at recent history: 2007 - Drogba gets the Golden Boot - Chelsea win the FA Cup I thought Hasselbaink got the Golden Boot when we won in 2000 as well, but it turns out that was the season after... my bad! mad_mac
Think we will probably start with the same 11 as we did against Arsenal. Maybe have ballack in for Mikel but that'll be about it....possibly Ivan in for Bossy?
ChelseaYankee
According to my fantasy page Kakuta is fit. If that's true I'm gonna be selfish and recommend: --------------Cech Bosingwa Mancienne Terry Cole Stoch Essien Lampard Kakuta ---------Di Santo Drogba
evissy
Don't know if it was something Hiddink really said or fabricated stories but he said the older players are playing for their contracts in the end of the season. I would think Ballack plays as his contract is one of the biggest question marks. I think Deco and Quaresma are as good as gone. Hiddink has shown no signs that either of them will play. They actually didn't even have a chance as we were playing for our lives every game after Guus took the reigns. But I think the next manager has a huge impact on every player so no minds have made up yet I think. Everything would be lot easier if the new manager was introduced sooner than later. PloKoon13
According to my fantasy page Kakuta is fit. If that's true I'm gonna be selfish and recommend: I'm pretty sure he broke his leg and ankle or something, so he's not gonna be back until the summer at the very, very earliest... it'll probably be longer. mad_mac
Yeah I think Kakuta did suffer a broken leg and if I remember correctly, it wass about mid summer that they felt he'd be back. Kalou has picked up an injury to his ankle during a midweek friendly against Man City (what that game was for I don't know!), and Ballack and Belletti both have the flu! .........................Cach Bossie............Alex....Terry......Cole ..........Essien.............Mikel .....................Lampard ......................................Malouda ...........Anelka .................................Drogs subs: Hilario, Ivan, Di santo, Mancienne, Stoch, Mellis, Deco Scott
Zola's Love Child
I think it'll be a full strength side today, trying to ensure we keep Liverpool on their toes (especially if West Brom do themselves a favour earlier!). Main thing for me is a clean sheet. Need to keep a good streak of not conceding going into Wembley, and also try and get big Pete his golden gloves back from Liverpool. Other than that, would take a 3 points really, and a great home send off for Guus.

Maksimov
Gerrard just scored, bring on the reserves. Hey, if they lose their final game and we absolutely demolish our opponents in our last two games, it's still possible for us to overtake them.
