Posted May 8, 200916 yr Just wanted to say that I am pretty sad that Yogic has decided to leave this forum. Surely the whole point of any forum is that people can say what they feel and that debate/argument follows. If people are total Nobs, then it is up to the hard working Mods to ban them if they see fit What I am not happy about is that a long standing member of the forum is hounded off just because he posts comments that others do not agree with. Emotions were running very high after Wednesday - not least with me, but is that really a reason to turn on your own? I for one hope that Yogic re-considers in the not too distant and returns to post

It wasnt so much that he posted something people didnt agree with it was the timing and the clinical nature of it. He came on here knowing that what he was going to post was going to get a reaction and going to wind people up. Wont be missed in my books, he normally posted claptrap anyway.
May 8, 200916 yr Author Not sure if i agree here B. It wasnt so much that he posted something people didnt agree with it was the timing and the clinical nature of it. He came on here knowing that what he was going to post was going to get a reaction and going to wind people up. Wont be missed in my books, he normally posted claptrap anyway. As you've probably noticed - I like a bit of claptrap Maybe I'm naive but I never had Yogic down as a wind-up merchant - other things but not that
May 8, 200916 yr I agree with bonetti, if there is a reason to ban him let that decision be made by Loz and the team, to hound someone off the forum is petty and wrong. all should be welcome.
May 8, 200916 yr I have to disagree. Read this again: Never tried to win it from the go.Drogba fluffed all his chances. We could have wrapped it up with the counter-attacks towards the end, but did not. Barcelona got one shot on target and scored. - This team is old and not innovative anymore. Anelka and Drogba are not lethal enough. Droba has his games but we need someone consistent. I truly hope Hiddink recognizes all our squad issues and talk to Roman. I truly hope Roman sanctions a squad overhall. I truly hope Kenyon recruits a TOP manager. - Chelsea forever. Posted at just after 10:00pm on Wednesday night. Forget the actual opinions expressed for a moment, the timing was abysmal. And that very first sentence "Never tried to win it from the go" at that particular time was close on incendiary. Not a word about the ref, not a word about the injustice of the situation, not a word about the obvious disappointment on the player's faces - just "Never tried to win it from the go". Awful, awful thing to say. I'm not going to speak for anyone else; I told him what I thought at the time, addressing some of the points he'd made, and in the circumstances I think I was remarkably objective, if I say so myself. He hasn't been banned. Unless I missed something, nobody's asked for him to be banned. If he's going to stay away from the site, then it's his decision and no-one else's.
May 8, 200916 yr There are levels of support, Chelsea means more to some people than others but If your Chelsea you have my ear, if your not Chelsea but still want to talk without abuse you also have my ear. beacuse we dont like or disagree with what people say is no reason to want them out.
May 8, 200916 yr I didn't say I wanted him out. I said it was his decision. Do I have any sympathy? No I don't. Because at the time, and under those circumstances, that first sentence in particular was asking to be pounced on. Having said that, the dust has settled, and if he changes his mind about staying away, then I don't see why there should be any knd of problem, not even if he wishes to express the exact same arguments, which at a different time and in a different context could be discussed openly and objectively. The timing, especially of the opening statement, was the biggest problem ... it was just wrong.
May 8, 200916 yr I'm with Lofty. He wasn't hounded out. He posted some crap and people called him on it. The decision to leave was his. If people left just because some disagreed with their posts then sexelk would have left ages ago!
May 8, 200916 yr Not over fussed either way to be honest, although I do agree, it's good to retain as many of the longer term forum posters as possible - I miss the contributions from the likes of Glory 55 & Rizza and others that I've already forgotten about. One poster I'm certainly not missing though is that AHWNN. Now there was a complete..................................
May 8, 200916 yr What happened to Glory? Was he banned or just left? And what happened to AHWNN? Did he leave? For someone who spends an rather large amount of time here, I am tragically out of the loop!
May 8, 200916 yr I have to say; I do have some sympathy for yogic. But his decision to stay away is, indeed, his own. Cheers, Butch
May 8, 200916 yr One poster I'm certainly not missing though is that AHWNN. Now there was a complete.................................. Oh Nibs - there are SO many words I could use to complete that sentence - and ALL of them extremely defamatory and totally deserved!
May 8, 200916 yr I didn't agree with his post but I was surprised at the level of vitriol he received, most of it personal. I was wondering why as I can't remember anything too offensive about his posts.
May 8, 200916 yr I didn't agree with his post but I was surprised at the level of vitriol he received, most of it personal. I was wondering why as I can't remember anything too offensive about his posts. His initial posts were tendentious, with a hidden political agenda, and if anyone disagreed with him, he became personally abusive. I can only speak here for myself. I tried to explain logically why I disagreed with his posts and each time I disagreed he replied with a rude comment. I eventually put him on IGNORE - the only person I have ever done that to. If you can be bothered to read through his threads, do so, but I wouldn't recommend it! FORGIVE ME LIAM, WE'RE TALKING AT CROSS PURPOSES. YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT YOGIC, AND I THOUGHT YOU WERE REFERRING TO AHWNN! Let me make it clear that I have absolutely no grouse with Yogic! Edited May 8, 200916 yr by moi
May 8, 200916 yr i have no gripe with yogic he is entitled to his opinions and views, i did apologise to him in his initial thread for telling him where to go, then i read the other posts the next day his timing was well and truly crap, and had he posted perhaps the day after and explained his comments then maybe there would of been more of a debate but in all honesty you cant post that kind of statement within 10 minutes of what happened on wednesday night when everyone was seething, then spit your dummy out because people have had a pop at you
May 8, 200916 yr Man, can't get on here for a couple of days and I come back to all this! AHWNN has gone? Too much Marxist rhetoric? Yogic off back to trip acid and smoke ganja? I don't know why these people are no longer here, but AHWNN I'll not miss, but Yogic seemed fine....just one stoned little Indian. I agree that there is a time and a place for comments, and maybe his statement was terribly incensitive at the time, but if it was the way he felt then he should be allowed to say it. However, I am with a few of you on here. TO say that we looked like we never tried was a terribly insensitive thing to say at that time. As far as the squad overhaul, I don't think he's saying anything that we all don't already think. If that was his main point, I am fine with that. But to say we never tried is outrageous! I remember Moos saying something equally insensitive after we lost and he actually did get banned. At least he learnt his lesson and posts again. I hope Yogic will too. Scott
May 8, 200916 yr AHWNN. I finally worked out who that was. Definitely won't miss him. As for yogic, well he did take quite a bit of abuse but not enough to really justify taking his ball home. He is not banned so he's welcome back any time he wants.
May 8, 200916 yr Sure he has every right to post what he'd like on here, just as we have every right to point out that he was completely wrong, and his timing was atrocious as best.
May 8, 200916 yr What happened to Glory? Was he banned or just left? Not sure what happened to Rob, he definitely wasn't banned. Wasn't he moving out or something? Maybe he meant moving out the forum :( Shame, top man was Rob!
May 8, 200916 yr I think Rob still visits from time to time but hasn't posted anything. Thyat said I haven't seen him at the Bridge for ages and I used to see him a hell of a lot.
May 8, 200916 yr Too bad one of the old timers who came over from Paul's site has left. He was one of the few who tried to be objective. I tried as well, and was criticized for saying that there were only two real penalties, and I stick by that statement. Besides the first sentence of Yogic's post, which was a bit controversial, everything else he said was not so bad, just one person's opinion about the state of the team. After watching the match again, and seeing Drogba miss those gilt-edged chances, I just want to scream and wring his neck. Yogic is a mellow person, as you can tell from his posts, and to scare him off the site is a sad day for our forum. He is owed a big apology. Edited May 8, 200916 yr by Phillip
May 8, 200916 yr I agree with all of that post that Yogic made. Except for this bit. "Didnt try to win it from the start" That, along with the timing, and he was bound to get a nailing. f**ksake Yogic, now you remind me of the ref the other night... Made a bad decision or 2, or 5. Got verbally attacked for it. Then went into hiding. Take it on the chin mucker!

Now there was a complete.................................. Was that the fellow with the annoying font? I kind of phased out his posts for that reason, so I have no idea what he said...
