  1. It was aimed towards prolific in 'only' the Bundesliga, and being 'sh*t' in La Liga which I hardly think is the best barometer to be measuring how well a player would do in the Prem,
  2. 48 goals last season beg to differ, easy.
  3. Bet you think Gomez is sh*t too?Huntelaar is awesome, best poacher in the world easy (although, he isn't your classical poacher as he does possess a more technical side than your typical poacher)
  4. I'd take Piszczek in a heartbeat as there aren't many better RBs around in the World that are better than him but I don't think BVB will be selling him. Add the fact that he's too good to be a backup RB, imo, and can cut it at the best clubs in the world as a starter - but if he's happy with being rotated/backup then get him. Would echo the Kuba love too - very, very rapid, direct, a good dribbler (and takes the fullback on), has good crossing and can shoot. He's also approaching his peak too, so it would be a good buy as he'd give us at least 3/4 years of quality.
  5. He's been sh*t since Mourinho left Inter and is the wrong side of 30 so no thanks. Not fit enough to lace Bane's boots in any way, shape or form and he's apparently been linked heavily to a move back to Brazil. This move wouldn't fit our transfer policy of late, either.
  6. Just a few things (not in disagreement with what you said) about the above there, and may not be with regards to Torres, but here it goes - 1) Malouda was in the form of his life from 09-11 but now doesn't look like he can give two sh*ts about what he does at Chelsea and in that double winning season and until we hit a wall that we never recovered from in the 10/11 season Kalouda were portrayed as unstoppable and were actually bloody good. 2) Carlo really didn't know how to utilise both Drogba and Torres or, to be more precise, what to do with Torres. 3) Terry was sh*te against Sweden, got a runaround from Johan f**king Elmander which was quite painful to watch but the best do have a bad day in the office and that was one of them. Now, onto Torres. My stance on him is that I've backed him - rightly or wrongly - since the day his signed and through all of the ineptitude that he has shown at times but the transfer itself made no sense to me at the time - not that he wasn't a class player but more to do with the fact that we'd overpaid for him due to Deadline Day Madness, he was relatively out of form in those opening months for Liverpool (mind you, who wasn't under that dreadful Woy regime) and the timing of the transfer made no sense to me when Drogba was still there. January transfers generally don't work for the plain reason that it's incredibly hard to switch teams and be an instant success as time is needed to gel with the side, get to grips with the change in colleagues and the new system. Now, because of this, I was giving him leeway for that abysmal spell till the summer but I think the burden of the fee, expectations, being an easy target for the media had a massive effect on his confidence/mentally. Personally, I've maintained that next season is make or break for him, however, the form he was showing since Robbie came in and the creativity and midfield talent behind him will make sure he'll be getting plenty of chances and I'm confident he'll have a high scoring season (25-30 goal season in all competitions). Also, I'll conclude with the fact that Torres is definitely a player who needs to be the main man for the team (after all, that's what he was at Liverpool and Spain) so Drogba's departure will ensure that and Robbie's man-management definitely suits Torres as he'll talk to Torres and put an arm round him etc, which is something Ancelotti and, in particular, AVB didn't do (his tough-love approach was bollocks)
  7. Tioté came from Twente, though? But yeah, generally, the Frenchies that come over here tend to do well (some may take longer to adapt than others - see Drogba, Malouda - but they all come good in the end)
  8. Pav was mismanaged by Arry. When he played he was class
  9. Chiles is a fat c**t who should be banned from TV. Literally anyone can do his job (ie. read from a telepromter) and I'd rather I had the pleasure of watching Abbey Clancy (or someone like that) present than watch this miserable d**khead present and think he's a comical genius
  10. I don't see why Mata hasn't played any minutes :( Hopefully he gets a run out vs Croatia.
  11. Like. A. Boss. As good as the Spanish midfield is, I wish they'd just look up and pick out his runs more often as he makes some good runs but Xavi and Iniesta would rather pass it to each other and not move forward
  12. If they forked out 30M Euros for car-crash Coentrao, we'd want at least double to even consider letting him go (if he indeed wants too) But it's all a moot point as he's staying
  13. My approval for the Jovetic move
  14. Gebre Selassie is sh*te defensively though and he looked good against a terrible Greece side (in particular, Holebas their LB who was giving the phrase 'having a mare' a completely new meaning)
  15. Lukaku's nowhere near ready for 1st team football though. I love how the article makes it seem as if Di Matteo has a say in transfers too
  16. Well, him winning the POTY award was a travesty but yeah, I think he's got age on his side and has cut it in the Prem compared to Hulk who hasn't. The thing that irks me about Bale is how inconsistent he is and when you put a good fullback on him (ie. that is good defensively) he gets shut out of the game. Back to the OP, a nay for Hulk from me too (obviously) and with the people we've been linked to recently that can play on the RW I'd rather have them (Jovetic, Muller, Dzagoev etc etc) or someone like Yarmolenko. All of these players will cost much less than Hulk and will be better investments, imo Keirison was a demon on FM09/08 and I dunno if he's still contracted to Barca as I remember them buying him. Kerlon is the seal dribbler guy
  17. Walker's prone to poor positioning and lapses in concentration which lead to him often being in the wrong places but it's just his ridiculous pace that allows him to recover from such errors. Kalou gave him a runaround in the FA Cup Semis iirc, for example.
  18. Well, Milan still have an interest in Tevez and with them apparently close to selling Thiago Silva for 40-50m Euros it may fund a possible move for Tevez. I can't see City wanting to keep him as it would ruin their integrity (if they had any ;)) after his Munich debacle. Džeko has been heavily linked with Bayern by the German papers since the season ended so I wouldn't be shocked to see him back in the Bundesliga (he may well end up in Serie A too as he wanted to go to Milan or Juve before City came in)
  19. You'd assume Tevez, Ade and Edin are certainly off with Johnson joining them which leaves you with Mario and Aguero as their strikers and Silva, Nasri, Milner to take up the3 places behind them (Aguero can play behind the striker and Mario can play out wide too) but they could well be buying a winger this transfer window
  20. Holiday? The only thing I can think of because pre-season hasn't started for Fiorentina and he has no commitments to the Montenegro National Team
