I'm worried about the long-term of Chelsea. If that derails us a little but for the first 13 games and we get Guus on a permanent basis, I think the majority of Chelsea fans would welcome Guus back in a heartbeat.

Surely this is the best option: Appointing someone like Ray Wilkins in there until October 15th, when the Russian qualifying ends. Then the next time he leaves will be for the World Cup, when the players are gone anyways, and Wilkins can be in charge of pre-season training until Guus comes back. October is not that long away from when the season starts mid-August. That's only two months.

Yes, we are on the same page. I'm just taking maybe a bit more radical of a stance and saying I don't think it's an outside chance he will do sh*t, but an outside chance he will do great. Milan have had some great teams in the past, to only finish 1st once in his reign is not what we should be looking for - with players like Kaka, Pirlo, Shevchenko, Ronaldinho...what do we really expect from him? He's certainly no Mourinho or Hiddink. Not only this, but why are we considering giving him a long contract?

Completely agree with you there mate, that would put me on cloud-9 waiting for the season to start.

What is this "outside chance" talk? The man does not have a proven record of winning the league, when the league is far and above the most important trophy for us to win.
