He's past his best, hasn't played well for Man United for a couple of seasons, hasn't played well for England in years. His wages are too high, his transfer fee too high (anything over £20m is a waste considering he only has a year on his contract and his massive wages) he has fitness issues, personal issues that DO affect him on the pitch and a poor attitude. To ME, he is not a 'Chelsea' player. If he was not English most people and certainly the media would not give him the time of day. Says a lot that no other top European club is interest in him also.

Absolutely not, if I didn't want debate I would have just posted a load of abuse about Rooney but I've asked genuine questions about Rooney as a player and his game, that you have to think about to answer. The fact that not one poster has yet answered the two questions I've posed about Rooney speaks volumes. You dislike my post because you cannot name when Rooney last played great in an entire game and cannot name the last time he put in a performance that all the players I listed regularly do. You may disagree or dislike my post but you lose an argument when you resort to being childish and crying like a baby instead of answering the question in a mature way.

I didnt watch an awful lot of utd last season but Judging by the amount goals he scored, and assists he made, im sure put in at least a few performances as the wonderful suarez. Suarez has had one brilliant season for a top seven side, which he managed to cloud by biting an opponent. Now he's trying to force his way out from the club that has stuck by his disgusting antics. There are not many players where you could argue rooney has the moral high ground, but suarez is one them. The performances of suarez you seem to be creaming over, have been part an parcel of rooneys career. I think you need to stop getting sucked into the media's flavour of the month, and people on merit. Rooney has out scored suarez in the last 2 seasons combined, even though he's played midfield for one of those seasons. Take your head out of the sand. Totally 100% agree on Rooney I can't understand why we don't try for Suarez? He's exactly the type of forward we are in desperate need of. He will create and score and can bring to the team different things than Torres, Lukaku

I think what they are writing is true though. All the other media are writing "Mourinho's first signing" etc etc. But we know that Schurrle is NOT Mourinho's signing, he's Emanelo's. Emanelo wants Schurrle, Jose won't have had much input. Do you honestly think Mou would go for Schurrle (who no-one else wants) out of all the talent that is currently available? I think not, the Star is close to the truth on this.

Rooney to Chelsea, is like a slow motion car crash. You can see it all happening, whilst pulling the scream face but n-one can stop it. IMO, it would be a disaster, worse than Shevchenko and Torres. The fee, the wages, the player past his best with a bad attitude and poor fitness, the constant media negativity and attention that CFC hardly needs. Most of all we would be handing money to United and they would use it to strengthen. Ferguson bought RVP because Rooney was not cutting it. If we want anyone from United, I'd rather have RVP than Rooney.

To sell Torres so cheaply is only a good idea if we actually get Cavani. Worst case scenario for me is we let Torres go only to replace him with another flop Rooney, then we will be paying an extra £90k a week in wages for Rooney :-(

Priority numero uno should be a world class proven striker AKA Cavani. Don't get me wrong I will give Schurrle a chance and now he's a Chelsea player will defend him to the hilt but I'm not excited by this signing.

So if Torres goes all we will have is Lukaku who played half a dozen FULL games for WBA and mainly came off the bench and Ba, who up to now is worse than Torres. Hmmmm..........this is CHELSEA FC not some tiny two bob outfit fighting relegation. We NEED a world class PROVEN centre forward.
